Guitar Tech episode covering a helpful tech tip!
Hi, I'm Mike Sullivan. Welcome to Guitar Tech. How to do it yourself.
Hi, Gospel Guitarist here with a quick tip video.
Sometimes we hear in chat forums about amplifiers making rattling noises and things and such. Well,
if we take a look for example at this hard key bass amp, we can see there's a lot of metal
on the amp, all held in by screws. When the amps ship, I've done this with every single amp and
every single speaker cabinet that I've ever received, is to take a screwdriver and tighten
up every single bolt that you can find on the amplifier. Just go all the way through,
go through all of your grill screws here, and you can even remove this and then tighten up the
speaker inside so that nothing is loose and rattling. Just go over every single inch of
your amplifier when you first get it or your speaker cabinet, when you first take delivery
of it. Even on your big 412 cabs, there's a whole lot of screws on there that can make a whole lot
of noise at high power. So go through everything and just take everything apart. I've done it with
all my amps and they're nice and quiet, but I have had that issue in the past with amps that
were rattling once you start to get them turned up a bit. So anyway, it's just a little helpful
tip that I hope you can appreciate. So remember to check those screws. Well, thanks for watching
and see you next time on Guitar Tech, how to do it yourself.
