When your mind won’t slow down—when you’re stuck in overthinking, bracing for what might go wrong, or feeling like you always need to do more—this meditation helps you step out of that loop and come back to a sense of safety and enoughness right now. Gently settling the body and mind, you’ll practice letting go of control, releasing subtle anxiety, and resting in the simple, steady experience of being—where, even for a few moments, you can feel that you’re already okay.
I offer these every week, along with a short teaching. Just click the subscribe link below

and relaxed and alert and present. You're helping yourself settle in,
intending to remain present in the present. You might say, giving yourself over to the present
as it is. If you like, look around the space you're in to help yourself register that
it's basically okay. And you can relax vigilance. You can let go of trying to anticipate threats
here and now. You can find and feel a confidence that you'll be able to deal with
whatever emerges over the course of this meditation. You don't need to plan ahead now.
Be aware of the ongoing arisingness of the breath, ever-changing sensations as air flows in,
flows out, not needing your control, letting go of controlling your breathing
as the body breathes very well on its own. See what it's like to keep resting more and more
in the simplicity of the present, allowing sounds and thoughts, sensations to pass through
awareness without following after them. And if you find yourself carried away by a train of thought,
as soon as you notice that, see if you can step off that train and let it go,
coming back to the present. It can help to let awareness widen out to include your body
as a whole and see if you can recognize and enjoy and trust in the ongoing livingness of the body.
You can recognize that you're basically all right right now. See if you can feel and let in
a sense that you don't need to go anywhere to be safer right now. You can simply rest in a basic
all-rightness that's continually present, being aware of any anxieties,
any guarding or bracing, letting it go, feeling safe enough in the present now.
See if you can also get a sense of the fullness of the present, the gifting of it,
perhaps gently aware of some of the many things you are thankful for, perhaps an awareness of
life living you. Here we breathe the sunlight so that you can rest content,
aware of any subtle dissatisfaction or chasing, striving, seeking. For now, letting it go.
Can we be content? Can simply being be enough? Meditating here in the process of letting go of
becoming while resting in being. Aided further by a sense of your own open heart,
already connected with others, letting go of any seeking or striving in this regard,
as we meditate, resting in being with an open heart, content, and at peace.
