Family friends and fellow law enforcement gathered this morning to
pay their respects to state trooper Kevin Trainor, who was killed in the
line of duty last week. Trooper trainer was attempting to stop a wrong way
driver on route one in Linfield when his cruiser was struck head on by the
vehicle. His funeral mass was held this morning at ST James Church in Salem,
the city where he was raised. Law enforcement filled the pews inside the
church and they were joined by Governor more Healy, who called trainer a hero
for his sacrifice.
Today we lay to rest a hero of our state, someone who embodied our highest
ideals, courage and character, strength and selflessness. And he lived them
every day of his life. Trooper trainer leaves behind his mother, his fiancee
and four siblings. He was just 30 years old.
