MP Malissa Lantsman delivered speech on 2026 Falun Dafa Day celebration in Ottawa

All right, we're here to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day, and it's a pleasure to recognize our long-term supporter, Member of Parliament Melissa Lansman, whose continued engagement, outspokenness and understanding continue to uplift our community. Everyone, please welcome Melissa Lansman. Thank you so much. It is my distinct honor and pleasure always to join you. I think this is the 20th year since I first discovered the truthfulness, the compassion, the forbearance of Falun Dafa, and the practice, and I've been a long-time advocate to make sure that this place, Parliament Hill, has your voice heard. It has been 25 years since the communist regime in Beijing has tried to erase Falun Dafa, and we will never stand for that. We will never stand for foreign ambassadors telling Canada what to do and how to act, what to believe and what to shut down. That has no place here on Parliament Hill. It has no place here in Canada. I have long-standing colleagues that have been long-time supporters of your practice, your movement, your peace, long-standing colleagues who have made sure that we have the laws in place in Canada, like the Magnitsky Act, to actually sanction those from the communist regime in Beijing who are a threat to our democracy and who are a threat to our way of life here in Canada. You have a voice in me in Parliament. You have a voice in me in action. You have a voice in me to stand up to the bullies who try to shut down things like Shen Yun, and I'm very happy to see it return to Toronto in the next month, and I will see you all there. I will see you all on the Hill, and I will be one of your strongest advocates. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of this today.
