Arrest made in Agawam after extensive police search operation

Crews saw what appeared to be an arrest in the area of Dover Street off River Road in Agawam at around 6 p.m. this evening. State police confirmed they were assisting Agawam police in a search for a suspect. We first arrived on scene at around 3 30 after reports of a large police presence and investigation on River Road. At around that time a vehicle was seen being towed away after police searched it. Residents described seeing police boats and helicopters during the search. One Agawam resident spoke with 22 News about their close encounter with the suspects. I saw two individuals crouch down and I had my flashlight and they thought it was a gun and they said don't shoot so I ran out to the street screaming for the police running down the street and they came to the neighbor's yard with their hands up. 22 News has contacted Agawam police for more information and will provide updates as soon as they become available.
