If you're planning a Singapore trip, love food travel, or want to experience Singapore like a local, this guide is for you.
Welcome to Singapore, one of the most expensive cities on earth. We are talking crazy rich Asians
expensive. So I gave myself one mission, find the best food in the city, crazy good but with a
budget-friendly price tag. Really authentic experiences here in Singapore. And Singapore
delivered on Michelin star level. I had the sixth best coffee in the world for half the price of my
Miami coffee. This is freaking amazing. Insanely good Indian food made the traditional way from
scratch for $5. I can already see us booking a flight to India just for the food. And Hainese
chicken rice that got a shout out from Anthony Bourdain for $6. But can it really be that good?
There's some bones in here. I can't eat this. Oh my god, that's a freaking long line.
We need some coffee and I decided to come to one of the best coffee shops in the world which is
right here. It's called Apartment Coffee and there is a line. And I just said to my boyfriend,
I've never in my whole life seen a line for just coffee. So it must be really good. It's one of the
I think it's top six. So we'll just line up, chill a little bit, have a coffee and see if it's really
really like world-class coffee. Okay we got the best seats in the house. VIP seating here where
we can watch the barista preparing the co-over coffee. It is such a chill vibe. It's like very
quiet considering that it's a coffee shop. People seem to be just enjoying their coffees. We ordered
two flat whites and one co-over to try what it's for. Yeah, super excited. Nice. Okay so we just
got the flat white and it's so freaking good. The filter coffee, I have to say,
flavor is strong. So it has flavors of white peach, mandarin and black tea. And now we got
the flat white that has a really really nice fruity aroma and it is exactly how I like my coffee and
this is freaking amazing. Cheers. These are the different filter coffees and then the flat white
that I had was from Costa Rica. So freaking good. I wish they would sell it because the coffee beans
apparently sold out. So I just wanted to get some coffee beans first because I have an espresso
but yeah, better luck next time.
Okay, we have so much energy. Ready for today? Yeah. So we're headed to Little India which is
just a five minute walk from here to check it out, see what the neighborhood is about. And then after
that we're going to Duxton Hill which is actually in Chinatown. So we're going back to Chinatown
which is apparently this very hip neighborhood with a lot of cool restaurants, cafes, shops. So
I'm very excited for that. So we have a good mix of, you know, some like really authentic
experiences here in Singapore. We've entered another food hall which is the Tekka Center.
Here you will find Indian food. We are in Little India after all. I see people are
really enjoying the food here. Apparently there are also Michelin stars food stalls here.
And it smells so nice with different spices. Oh, what is that? Wow, wow, wow.
We are not that hungry. Maybe we'll have a little snack but to check out what they have here and see
All right, we found a spot here. Also Michelin guide. It's called
Delhi Lahori and we just asked this gentleman for his recommendation. Oh, there you go. So we have
some fresh naan and they are just being stuck to the wall and then they get all puffy. Smells amazing.
Oh, beautiful. This is like a free show. I love it. Wow, yum, yum, yum. And we got
some butter chicken. We got some kebabs. Look at this. Wow, yum, yum, yum.
Look at that dish. Yeah, good choice. Best naan. Oh my god, yum. It's so yummy.
That looks spicy. Slaps? So good. I can already see us booking a flight to India just for the food
because I haven't even tried but seeing my boyfriend's reaction is gold. Also having the
seekh kebab and the, what is it, cheese naan. Just has so much flavor. It's juicy. It's like
spicy. It goes so well with the onions and like the green sauce that is on here.
Wow, so satisfying.
How much was it? How much was it? Wow, not bad. Not bad. Thank you so much.
Hello. Oh wow, cute. Okay, the boyfriend is going back to the hotel to get something
and while I'm waiting I'm going to show you a little travel ritual that I've established.
Amazing, thank you. So here's something that you might not know but when travel and social
media becomes your job you're really looking forward to sit down at a coffee shop, just
not film and I decided instead of doom scrolling on my phone I switched to playing a game that is
actually really fun and helps me relax and that game is June's Journey. And what I love about this
game is that it's a hidden object mystery game and it plays in the 1920s. It's about this woman
called June Parker and she's trying to solve the mystery around her sister's death. I would do the
same. And I actually love the hidden object scenes because it feels like you're solving a puzzle and
they are so satisfying because you have to pay attention to tiny details to solve the case. And
each scene you play gives you more cues and you're one step closer to solving the mystery and it just
pulls you deeper and deeper into the story which makes it so engaging and so much fun to just play
and it's almost like solving a puzzle. And I think the reason why I love it so much is because my
brain is so overstimulated when I'm traveling. I'm filming, I'm editing, I'm working at the same time
and this is my little down moment where I can get really cozy and just be in my own little world and
shut down, slow down and enjoy myself. So it just became my little ritual to relax and have a moment
for myself. And besides the mystery part you can also decorate your own island which is such a cute
detail. I've been slowly building mine while traveling and unlocking new scenes, events and
rewards as the story progresses. It kind of feels like reading a mystery novel but it's interactive.
And if you want to try June's Journey for free there's a link in my description box or you can
scan this QR code here. Give it a try. I really love it and I think you would love it too if
you're into games. Coffee is finished, I'm hydrated, ready for the next adventure. Let's go to Little India.
You from Hong Kong? No, no, no. I'm the chef. Okay. So I've been many places and taste many food.
Yeah. So I know all this, where they're from, where they're originally from, where it's nice, who is the
real papa, who is the grandmum. Oh nice. Yeah, that was delicious.
Okay, we made it to the Maxwell Food Hawker and it is a little bit overwhelming to be honest. I have
to check out what we should eat but we just came to have a little bite because we are going to
go to an event. Yeah, I heard we should try Hainanese chicken, I heard we should try the chili crab
and a few other dishes. So I'm just going to check out the food stalls and sites but that's the best.
And we even have some places that have the Michelin star, also approved by Anthony Bourdain
and a few other very popular faces here, another YouTuber colleague. So the line basically goes
around the corner all the way to the back. Oh my god, that's a freaking long line. Okay, the line
is moving fast. Here we have the menu that we can check out while waiting. Freaking hot, super
humid, I'm sweating like crazy. I can't wait to eat. Okay, I'm super hungry. Are you hungry? I'm
getting there. Yeah, getting there. The line. The line is making us hungry. What is going on with
this camera? Okay, there you go. Yeah, so they have a pretty full system payment here and then just pick
up over there. Everything is moving very fast. Michelin, Bib Gourmand, Anthony Bourdain himself
recommending it. It must be good, right? Yeah. Maybe in future there will be a picture with
a girl I can't dream. Thank you. Let's find a spot. Okay, we got the goods. Boyfriend is already
hungry. We got half a chicken with two portions of rice and some bok choy. There you go, first
Okay, I feel like I need to separate the bones from the chicken because I can't eat this.
Okay, so we just finished our food and I was wondering how we're going to clean the table.
I don't know if there's anybody coming to clean up the table but the lady on the table that was
just coincidentally there said no, you have to bring it over there. You have to bring it back
because in Singapore there's no table littering by law. That's something. Wow.
Really, really glad that we came out to the food market. Not my first experience but also not my
last. I just really wanted to have the Hainanese chicken. It was absolutely worth it except for
the bones. I have to admit. Oh, it's so bright. Yeah, maybe that's the room for improvement that
I have but otherwise it was really delicious, right? Yeah, very good. We didn't find a dessert.
Well, we found dessert but they don't accept credit cards, only cash and different other
payment systems like Alipay and like a lot of, I don't know, Asian payment systems that I don't have
if we don't have but I will figure it out and we'll find another spot for dessert.
What are you? This is the next spot. Break your foot. It's just a little bit too healthy.
Okay, if you guys are having here, I would recommend our lassi. Yeah. So basically that's
just the bread itself. Lassi with butter means you put the butter here,
yeah, it's a salted butter and it's sweet so you can taste it.
Okay.
That's a big piece of butter.
All right, like a burger. It's just like a slice of butter.
It's a lot of butter. It looks like a lot. It looks like the amount of butter we had in Paris.
Wait, is it supposed to melt? This is insane. Wait, this is the amount of butter? That's ridiculous.
Yeah. I'm glad we went with the butter. It's so good. So you have like the outside crust is
sweet, it's soft inside and then you have the salty butter. Ah, very satisfying.
Good choice. Okay, it is night time and of course we have to cover the nightlife in Singapore.
We decided to come to Republic Bar at the Ritz-Carlton which sounds very promising.
They have a new concept where they feature different homes from the 60s, right?
Yeah, so very, very cool. There you go. Okay, so we have for example Pink Panther which is a
childhood cartoon of mine and the cocktail comes with gin, yuzu liquor, tomato puree, citrus,
egg whites. Love from the bartender. Lovely. I love that. Most important, yeah.
Drinks came out and this is the Pink Panther. Love, you want to take it? Yeah, of course.
And I personally went for Muhammad Ali, the goat because I'm a huge boxing fan
and this is my drink. Pretty fancy. Cheers. Let's try. Oh, wow, wow, wow, wow. That's good, yeah.
Strong, strong drink. Okay, our bar bites came out and we have the Kueh Piti which is shrimp
omelette, chili sauce, fermented radish, crab jelly. We have the crab laksa spring roll here
and we have chicken satay here with peanut sauce and of course I have the best company.
Okay, that was a fantastic idea because now we are very close to the bay so we're going to take
a grab and check out the light show during the night time. So drinks were phenomenal,
really like strong drinks. Had some few snacks and now we're just going to enjoy the night time
program here in the bay and see how it looks like. I saw pictures, it looks really, really amazing so
I definitely wanted to make sure we come here during the night time. If you want to see more
of this city, check out my last video where I explored the different neighborhoods and the
real Singapore they don't show you. And don't forget to try out June's Journey using my link
to relax during your travel breaks and enjoy a little game in between.
