Today is the dreaded chore day! Booooooooooo come along with us on typical chore day. We go to the dump station, gas, propane, grocery, and finally wash our clothes before heading back to our campsite. 👋🏼 About us We are Tyler + Madison White and we have been traveling full time for 5 years. Over the course of the last several years, we have renovated four different RVs, and traveled all over the United States, Canada, and Mexico. 🌎 We love to document and share our life online! We mainly filmed the realities of our lives, hiking, Boondocking spots, and all of the states and national parks that we explore. A couple living in an RV spends a long \"chore day\" restocking essentials after a week of camping. They handle fuel, propane, groceries, and laundry before returning to the mountains, where they set up a new campsite by a creek and filter fresh water from the stream.
Today's the day that we leave our campsite after being here for seven days today.
We have officially run out of propane, run out of water, we need to do the laundry, get
some groceries, dump our tanks, yeah we're out of everything.
Unfortunately chore days are very very long.
After we're done we're going to come back here to this spot, hopefully nobody takes
this spot from us because we really enjoyed this little area here.
First thing we got to do is pack the RV up, before we go I'm going to break this icicle
so it doesn't go flying down the highway, and there's one over here too.
Five and a half miles of this national forest road to drive down before we get to any highway.
Once we hit that highway, turn right and it's easy going from there.
We got to get down from the mountains here, probably take us, I don't know, probably take
us 20 minutes or so, 25 minutes.
We actually drove this way several days ago whenever we needed to go get some groceries
and we know that it's just going to be like a windy road that just goes all the way down
the mountain, but it's really beautiful and it just follows the river the whole time.
Chore number one, dump our tanks.
You're doing this one right.
You know you're going to stay here and eat cinnamon rolls.
Alright, be back.
Got our tanks dumped and we got a dumpster right here we can use so I'm going to throw
our trash away.
And it was half price if we get gas here so I'm also going to fill up our tank, our diesel
tank.
Come on.
Of course that's the big one.
But I think I can reach.
Oh yeah.
Alright.
Just do it this way.
There we go.
It's going quick.
11 gallons.
At least it's going fast.
Sometimes they go really slow.
This is going to be expensive.
80 bucks.
You know what I need after that?
A cinnamon roll.
It's all warmed up for you over here.
Good.
Let me pull over here and pull around here.
Did you eat your cinnamon roll already?
You did?
Yeah, I ate it while you were dumping the tanks.
You should have waited for me.
I was hungry.
Somebody commented on our reel about the cinnamon rolls and said, I gasped when I saw the finished
product.
That's funny.
Everybody's asking for the recipe but I'm going to have to message so many people the
recipe.
I like going to Tractor Supply for propane.
I'll be back.
There are two people ahead of me and they told me to drive around to the other side
so I don't have to unhook and back in.
So that's really, really nice.
And get it going.
Get it.
It's still going.
It's right here.
Good to go.
We got all the RV stuff taken care of so now we can go get groceries and do laundry.
And I think that's it.
Well, I say that's it.
That's the...
Those are the heavy hitters.
The most expensive and going to be the most time.
Here we go.
Good old faithful Walmart.
Very short grocery list.
It's just going to get us through the week, the next seven days.
Because after seven days, this time next week, we'll be probably driving back through this town.
So we'll just go back to Walmart again.
It shouldn't be too bad of a grocery haul.
Not like the first one we did coming out here because we had nothing.
Yeah.
Will you check notes?
Sure.
There she is.
How's it going?
That didn't take too long.
It's starting to shrink.
Oh.
Do I see a Lonnie in that grocery cart?
I got you an Lonnie.
Aw.
This is all they had.
Pink's left.
I think that's the one you like.
I got me the orange one.
Cost $2.38 to refill this thing.
What time is it?
This is the...
These are the pictures of the laundromat.
That's it.
There's three pictures of this laundromat.
Look at this.
Number one.
Number two.
And number three.
Looks like a Mexican restaurant.
But I see it has a laundromat right there.
On top, so.
But there's no ratings, no nothing.
Oh, they have a dog wash.
Dog wash station.
Okay, that actually looks good.
No, that looks nice.
Okay.
That looks pretty good.
Get some laundry done.
Yep.
I think we can get back home by dinner time.
Or home, as in the campsite.
Let's do it.
Here we go.
Oh, wait.
No, I need to go right and then left.
Well, we found it.
The Statue of Liberty.
It's a little smaller than the original.
All right, Ollie, you stay here and be good.
I'm so long.
And now we wait.
It says it's going to take 18 minutes to wash.
You're still at home, Ollie.
It's actually not a very long wash.
But the drying is probably what's going to take the longest.
So we're just going to chill out here in the parking lot in the RV.
Hang out.
Drink our Elanis.
Oh, yeah, I probably can't show.
No, they did send us some of this, though.
Jump.
I don't know if you watched our last video, but we talked about how we found out he had Lyme disease.
And we just happened to catch it, thankfully, in the, I guess, early stage or whatever.
So they gave us a month of antibiotics, and he took his last one this morning.
So we can say that he is Lyme disease free.
Can we dump this one back here, too?
Yeah, sure.
All right, laundry is clean and in the RV.
But we're not going to fold it and put it away here.
We just want to drive and get to our spot, and then we can do it.
We've done propane, fill up our gas, dumped our tanks, went to the grocery store, did our laundry.
And finally, we need to go get some water, and then we can go back to our campsite.
It's been a day.
It has been a day, yeah.
Normally, I would get water at a dump station, but they didn't have potable water.
Yeah, luckily, we can get water from the creek on our way up.
All right, we're going to drive back to our campsite.
And it is about, what, roughly an hour?
36 miles through the mountains.
So let's go.
All right.
Pull over here by this creek.
Yeah, I'll have to unhook the car.
Yeah, this would actually be a good spot.
No, jump up, go.
Jump up.
Jump.
So we've decided to stay in this spot because of this creek behind me.
We love camping by a creek or a river.
And our spot that we were at is only, it's like less than a mile.
It's just around the corner of the mountain a little bit.
So we may just stay here for like two or three nights.
But then after that, we'll just move and go up the mountain a little bit.
I'm going to unhook the car now and move the RV over a little bit
to get us more orientated with these two trees.
This is a really great spot because we've got the door right here.
We walk through these two trees down to our own little private creekside beach.
I guess you can call it.
Love camping by a stream or a creek or water of any kind.
A creek is the best because we can open up our window
and just have the sound of water flowing and it's just so peaceful.
Okay, I'm going to get our water tank filled up
because I didn't fill it up in town
because the place we were at did not have potable water
and I don't want to risk it because I don't want nasty water in my tanks.
This thing is powered by a drill battery.
It's just an adapter that changes the drill battery to 12 volts
because the pump is a 12 volt pump.
This battery lasts a long time.
It'll pump probably 150 gallons on one battery or so
depending on how dirty the water is.
And then this end, this goes into the creek.
So this filters out dirt, sticks, leaves, all the bigger stuff
before it gets to the filter.
Now, I already know what you're thinking.
You're getting water for your RV from a creek?
Yes, and I feel safe doing it because...
There we go.
Ooh, wow, that's cold.
The filters filter out not only dirt but bacteria.
Just all of the little bacteria in streams like this
that could potentially make you sick.
They claim on their website you can drink it
and I have drank it before and it's really good.
But you can pull water even from a lake, like a dirty lake,
and it'll still filter it.
All right, I'm going to turn it on.
Turn on the converter.
Now, we turn on the pump.
It takes a little bit to get it pumped through.
I can hear air coming through.
Oh, I hear it.
There we go.
We got water.
Fresh drinking water.
And yes, you can drink it.
Mmm.
Ooh, that tastes good.
That's really good water.
Let's fill it up.
It's actually going pretty fast.
It smells really good in here.
Fresh water.
It's on E.
It'll probably take about 10 minutes or so to fill up.
While that water tank is being filled from the creek,
I'll show you what Madison's making for dinner.
Ooh, yeah.
I am making some smash burgers
and then I just cut up some golden potatoes and put them in the oven.
Some crispy potato wedges.
Yes.
Oh, yeah.
Don't they look good?
They do.
They smell really, really good.
It does smell really good, yeah.
They still have a while.
And then smash burgers are over here.
So we just take a tortilla, smash the meat down, and then fry it.
My dad and my mom started doing this.
They taught us how to do this.
And we loved it.
Tyler's, I use a normal tortilla.
Yeah.
And then I use an almond flour tortilla.
And then I just put Worcestershire sauce on top, so I'm letting that soak.
So we need a little bit of time to kill
because the potato wedges will take longer to cook.
It's going to be a yummy dinner after a long day.
Yeah, I didn't really have a whole lot for lunch.
Just a couple of cinnamon rolls, which were so good.
If you saw the last episode, we showed her making them,
and man, I'm telling you, they were so good.
Yep, I posted it on Instagram too.
Well, we posted it on all the platforms, short form and long form.
And everybody's wanting the recipe,
so you need to go to that other video and watch it,
and we'll put the recipe in the description.
Yeah, we need to do that because there's a lot of people asking for it.
Yeah, they were so good.
I think we're going to have to throw away the last two that we have
because I can't have them in here.
They need to go and not in my belly.
They'll be gone. They'll be gone tomorrow.
Are you going to put up the star link?
Yeah, I'm going to put our star link up on the roof.
I have a mount on the roof that I use,
and I think we have a clear view of the sky.
I might have to make it flat and go straight up because of the trees,
but I think we'll be okay.
I've also modded the end here.
I'm not even going to explain why.
That's a whole separate video.
It's a whole thing.
It makes my life easier, though.
I do really like this mount because it is out.
It just kind of sits here permanently,
and I tighten it down, and it's just locked to the RV ladder.
So even when there's wind, it doesn't want to go anywhere.
Let's go see if we've got internet.
A third of water.
I think one of my filters actually needs to be replaced,
so it's pumping a lot slower than what it should.
Actually, I think these are the same filters we used in Alaska,
and we used it in pretty dirty lakes.
The water is now overflowing.
I can shut it off.
Now our water tank is nice and full.
It's getting cold, so I'm going to put all this stuff away and get inside.
This looks so good. Thank you.
I hope it tastes good.
I kind of made it a little too crispy.
No, it's fine. I like crispy.
Man, I've been looking forward to this since you suggested it 40 nights ago.
I folded all of the laundry while this was cooking.
Oh, you did? Thank you.
We've got our water tank full.
My body was just craving food.
That's the best kind of hungry, you know,
when you've done a lot of work and stuff,
and you're tired, and you're just like, I'm hungry.
You just need a good meal.
Not a frozen pizza.
I mean, that's always a good option, too.
Well, we want to watch a movie tonight, a TV show, play a game.
We haven't watched our show in a while.
Yeah.
I don't think I have the mental capacity to play a game right now.
And now that I'm older, sometimes playing games is like, I'm too tired.
I just want to watch something.
All right, Ollie, you want to go outside real quick?
Let's go.
Put your collar on. Put your leash on.
There we go.
Jump.
Getting fresh sheets.
Ollie's ready for bed.
You ready to go to sleep?
Are you ready?
Wake up.
It's been a long day.
Sleepy.
I'm going to put my 360 camera on the roof and capture some star photography.
All right, hopefully that will look pretty cool.
I'll get it in the morning.
Oh, man, I'm beat.
Well, we're going to call it a night.
We're going to watch some TV and go to sleep because it's been a long day.
And then we're going to do nothing tomorrow.
Tomorrow's Sunday. We're doing nothing.
Thank goodness.
Yeah, thank goodness.
It's the Lord's day.
It is. He can have it.
Oh, I'm sorry. I'll leave you alone.
Thanks for watching. Thanks for hanging out with us.
And we'll see you in the next one.
