The sparks in the Chicago sky and I have the pleasure of sitting alongside Madam Vice President
Kamala Harris. First and foremost, thank you so much for joining us. Thank you for being here.
What made you want to come to a WNBA game? Well, I love the W and you know 30 years was looking at
just the just incredible excellence in terms of athletic ability, in terms of ambition,
in terms of discipline, and what they are doing to model them the height of athleticism.
But combining that with what they're doing to empower so many people who watch them,
I love it. I'm a huge fan of the W. Doug and I, this is our date night.
How romantic, right? Just you and a couple thousand people watching some basketball, but
I know you're a huge basketball fan. How do women do it better?
Oh, that's a big question about so many things. You know, but what what these women are doing
is they're also, especially in the last few years, they have been undeterred around what
other people may have in terms of limited expectations of the sport. And they are not
listening. They are not paying attention. They know their excellence. They know their popularity.
I mean, look at these crowds and they are just they are leading. And it is so exciting to see
how they are, again, helping people understand that sometimes it's important to not be limited
and not allow your ambition to be limited by other people's limited ability to see your capacity.
Right? You have been a pioneer. These women have continued to push and defy boundaries.
We have a Spartan who goes by the name of Madam President Nneka Ogumoke and she helps lead
the way in being a rising tide for all boats. When you look at how that empowers women everywhere,
what do you see? Well, first of all, in her, I see an extraordinary amount of courage
because being a leader on this level takes a lot in terms of the confidence that is necessary
to show other people what is possible. And that is what she has done. And she does it with grace.
She does it with dignity. And she also does it in a way that is about
making sure she's leaving the door open for so many others.
I applaud her. I have a great deal of admiration for her professionalism,
her courage and her strength. We were just talking about the joy of sport and how it
brings so many people together. I've been like for you in Los Angeles over the past month.
Oh, it's vibing. It's been great. I mean, with the World Cup and we've gone to a game,
but we watch everyone that we actually didn't attend. What you're seeing in terms of community
and a collective sense of joy in sitting next to perfect strangers, but feeling the same emotion at
the same time. I think also this moment in time, what it is doing to project to the world how
Americans also think of ourselves as world citizens. And feel a sense of connection
with our friends and other nations. It's very important. It's been beautiful to watch.
Madam Vice President, thank you so much for your time. We are so happy to have you here.
Thank you. Thank you. Back to you guys.
Thank you, Nikki. Thanks, Vice President Harris for her time as well.
