Oh Boy, dr. Tulski made some big waves landing star winger Miko Rantanen from the Colorado avalanche and a three-team trade that included sending beloved Kane Martin nature's over to Colorado. I Remember the trade. I remember the deal. I remember I was when I heard about it. I loved Marty I was really upset as I'm sure all of you were that Marty was gone was excited to see Miko, but It was Marty. It's a Marty party. Come on. There's no doubt that ran and didn't fit right in Raleigh We all know that so after 13 games, he was a goner. I was shocked when it happened 13 games and done dr. Tulski McCain's management never makes moves Like getting a big name So that was kind of cool to see but you know Before you know it 13 games came and went Miko Rantanen was gone. I was shocked. He was gone We had Miko then we didn't But you know what all that up. I'll end up being for the best in a recent interview on spit and chicklets Captain Jordan Stahl went on to say yeah, that was a wild time It was so weird and I get I get it I feel bad for rants, too He wasn't really expecting to get traded. He was hoping to sign in Colorado So we have like a star player sitting beside me on my right and he's not sure what's going on He's trying to play his best. He's struggling out there He's frustrated and like Roddy's kind of tiptoeing around because we want to sign him But like he's not really doing Kind of what we'd like him to do but also like he's so talented and you're like I get it and he can make great plays and You're like, okay. We'll figure it out. But you also need to know if he was gonna be here It was the weirdest time even for me. It was like I don't know what to say to him for the most part It's tough. It's weird. The Hurricanes did end up going on a 10 game win streak Following moving Miko over to Dallas, which was fine by me I think the weird thing for Giorno was the same thing. That was the weird for us You know, he's not happy, you know, he's not playing well, and then now you see him now you don't It's no secret that Rod wanted Miko for the long haul. It's no secret that dr Tulsky wanted Miko for the long haul It was Miko that didn't want the long haul with the Hurricanes and sometimes things don't work out Sometimes things just don't work out. That's fine. You know, I mean, I think we ended up pretty good in the end. Don't you? Once ran and end up with Dallas He saw immediately a few this guy immediately signed an eight-year deal worth about ninety six million dollars It was an extension for him He didn't want to be a hurricane The deal was the best for the Hurricanes though as it landed us Logan Stankov in two first round picks two third round picks and It wasn't all for Stankoven, but because of Stankoven it landed us a Stanley Cup this year So everything worked out for the best. I would personally rather have Logan Stankoven than Miko random. That's me There's no secret that coach. Brenda Moore is a hurricane for life. He captained the 2016 to a Stanley Cup championship and has been head coach since 2018 in 2024 Rod signed a multi-year deal that will extend into 2029 so it's not time to be thinking of an extension or The fact he's been up for an extension recently Hurricanes under Tom Dundon made a statement that resonated with all of us and I'm sure you all know exactly what I'm talking about. Rod was always gonna be the coach Since I hired him he's always going to be the coach as long as he'd want to be Sounds like a for life invitation for me I don't know if the she was a champagne or the adrenaline of the moment But those words rung strong among the Kaniacs, you know, hope you know, mr. Dundon knows those he's talking about Rod is our leader Rod is our guy Rod Brenda Moore is the Carolina Hurricanes as head coach between 2018 and last year He led the Hurricanes to eight playoffs eight straight playoff appearances for Eastern Conference Finals appearances six seasons with 99 plus points a 2021 Jack Adams coach of the Year Award Franchise record a hundred and two of a hundred and four hurricane playoff wins Rod is responsible for and now has coached the Canes to the very thing He led us to as captain the Stanley Cup itself Rod Brenda Moore's for life status for life status is a public Acknowledgement from Hurricanes ownership that he will remain the head coach as long as he wants Reflecting his proven track record loyalty and the team's confidence in We know owners say things to make us happier in the moment they are human after all But I really hope mr. Dundon didn't make a promise or say something in a sound bite He can't keep we all know how popular he is out in Portland This video is brought to you by Otis edge analytics where passion meets data Download click the link on this channel and download the app today for Otis edge analytics, I Really? Hope that you know, mr. Dundon didn't doesn't put his foot in the mouth and have to eat those words If Ron ever leaves, I think there'll be a super sad day a one that we probably won't recover from for a very long time But it is what it is yeah, and I would rather have Logan staying covered than Nico ran and I didn't really say that at the moment, but Yeah thinking with my heart not with my head that didn't use my Otis edge analytics on that one So for hurricanes digest, I'm Jeff test the narrow. Let's go canes
