STORM WATCH: Tracking weather conditions in Throgs Neck

We are on a flash flood warning and even a tornado watch here in the Bronx. The boroughs just can't seem to catch a break. Let's get right out now to News 12's Mike Lamore. He's braving those elements right now on East Tremont Avenue. Mike looks like you're finally catching a break. I know it was downpouring before. Just give us a taste of what it was like earlier. Well, of course, obviously it's not raining right now, but if you look behind me, you could see those gray, those angry storm clouds that are kind of just hanging out here. Skyler said these storms could be just reoccurring throughout the night. At the height of the last one, we saw frequent lightning torrential downpours. And as you just said, we are under a flash flood warning. So the National Weather Service is telling new yorkers to seek shelter immediately, even right now, as it's not raining because these flash floods could be dangerous, even life threatening to anyone who's outside. Now, the borough is also under a tornado watch and the city is telling everyone to charge their phones to gather supplies as well as to turn up your appliances like refrigerators and freezers up to a colder setting because the city could also be bracing for power outages. A lot of them. But again, we do want to warn you, the National Weather Service says to seek shelter and to stay there, stay in your homes for the remainder of the evening until these conditions clear, especially with those flash flood warnings. We're here in Throgs Neck, Mike Lamorte, News 12 the Bronx.
