The one Soto News, the Mets placed him on the IL again. And given where the Mets are in the season,
where their season is completely over except for the end date, the initial estimations for Soto's
days, he missed four to six weeks with a calf strain. If I remember correctly, this is not
his first calf strain of the season. To me, this just is a shut him down for the rest of the year
type of situation. Four to six weeks, the amount of money you have invested in him,
where the Mets sit in the standings. There is no reason to have one Soto out there. Bring up
another player out of the minor leagues and get him some plate appearances. Stop worrying about
service time. Get a player that's going to be useful to the Mets in the coming years and get
him some plate appearances at the major league level. It's not going to be a smooth ride,
but who cares? The Mets are completely out of it. Soto, not just out for four to six weeks. The next
announcement the Mets should be saying is that they're shutting him down for the rest of the
year. That's the only answer to this situation. Shut him down for the rest of the year. He's
already missed enough time. When doors missed enough time, run out the end of the season
and get some young players some run out there. That's what I see happening.
