YouTube Terminated 130,000 AI Channels! Psst....There NOT Done
Aug 6, 2026
Ladies and gentlemen, the AI backlash is real.
There's no getting away from it now.
People hate AI, yet we still keep using it, sadly.
Over the last few months,
in a couple of the videos I've done,
we've talked about how AI,
there's some backlash going on right now.
Most recently, poor old Hank Green,
a grandfather of YouTube,
is under fire for using an AI script.
And when I say grandfather, I mean in YouTube time,
because I think I'm probably at least 10 years older than him.
Probably more, sure.
But old Hank Green,
who has run incredible channels for a very long time,
kinda got caught reading his AI script
without really proofreading it.
I mean, there was a little end of his video,
or a little part of his video,
that really gave it away that it was an AI script.
He said, out of nowhere, thanks for the feedback,
and then he went on.
Basically, he had put something into ChatGPT
or whatever he's using,
and then he gave it a correction,
and they're all, thanks for the feedback.
That's what ChatGPT will say to you sometimes,
or if he's using Quad.
So Hank Green says, thanks for the feedback,
and then he goes on to what the feedback was.
So everyone's up in arms about it.
And some people are acting like he kicked their mom
in the stomach or something like that.
It is just, the backlash is relentless right now.
Many people have made videos about it.
I'm making a video about it,
but I'm really making a video about the AI
and how it's changing.
As you know, I'm not a fan of a lot of parts of AI.
I mean, when you go from start to finish
just using AI prompts to make a video,
I got a serious problem with it.
When you're just putting up posts in different places,
only using AI with actually no thoughts of your own,
I mean, other than what's my prompt going to be,
that I have a problem with.
So AI, rightfully so, is getting a lot of backlash
because anytime you get a new tool, people abuse it.
I mean, when the internet came around,
it didn't take long for people to start running scams
on the internet, or when emails came out,
people started running scams on that right away,
or they were just misusing it.
Well, not that I'm sure people are doing AI scams,
but there's other ways to abuse a tool,
and that's what a lot of people are doing.
They're just abusing the tools, and that's all it is.
AI is a tool.
It's not a magical creation tool.
I mean, people may think it is, but it's not.
I mean, if you think about what AI actually is,
it's not doing any thinking.
You're asking it a question, much like a Google search,
and it's taking all the information it can find
from almost like a Google search,
and it's condensing it into a better explanation
than you going from website to website.
AI is not using anything it's actually made,
and it's going off of other people's works.
There's no question about that,
and for some reason, it's still legal.
I mean, that really doesn't seem right to me,
but that's why a lot of people have problems with it.
Another reason people have problems with it is, of course,
they think it's gonna replace jobs.
Well, it started looking that way,
but now it's not looking that way.
A lot of companies like Google, Microsoft, Meta,
they're bringing workers back because they realize
that the AI was too expensive.
Yes, using AI as a software engineer
or different things in tech
takes these things called tokens.
So a company will buy a certain amount of tokens
from, let's say, Anthropic, which is Claude,
and their engineers will use it,
and they'll use their tokens.
Now, when this first came out,
a lot of the big CEOs, including the guy from NVIDIA,
said that if his engineers aren't using enough tokens,
there's a problem with it.
He's gonna be pissed off.
Well, now the engineers and everyone else
went ape ---- with the tokens,
and they burned through their annual budget on tokens
in like three months.
So now they're telling people, like, back off.
Well, here's the problem.
It was already expensive,
and it's about to get even more expensive.
That's right.
A lot of these things like Anthropic and Chachapiti
are about to go public.
That means people will buy stock,
and investors will have the say of what's going on.
And those companies, Anthropic, Chachapiti,
or whoever else, they're not making any money right now.
They're losing money every single day.
So these investors are gonna say,
hey, we wanna see the prices go up
so we can start making some money.
Well, I don't think it's gonna work.
I really don't.
They might raise the price,
and that's just gonna force companies like Google,
Meta, and, you know, anyone else,
they're gonna go back to normal engineers.
They're gonna bring back people
instead of using these tokens
because the tokens are about to get very expensive.
Now, this is good news to a lot of people,
especially the people that hate AI.
I mean, if it's more expensive,
that means fewer people are going to be using it,
and that means less AI.
There's a certain amount of people out there
that are just totally against AI,
and I understand it.
I don't agree with it.
I think it's a good tool,
but there are some people that are like AI purists.
They don't want any AI whatsoever.
Kind of reminds me of vegetarians, or vegans especially.
How do you know someone's a vegan, as the old joke goes?
Talk to them for a minute and a half,
and they'll explain to you they're a vegan,
and they wanna, like, give you their testament
on veganism or something.
It's weird.
There's some people that are kind of like that.
They're just so anti-AI,
it doesn't matter what you do,
they're gonna give you some crap about it.
Myself, I use AI to make thumbnails
and occasional humorous picture
for one of my videos, right?
Limited use, very limited.
I get crap for that every single video I make.
These people just can't handle the fact
that I used a little AI to make a funny picture.
I mean, I could go out, I imagine,
and find a panda bear that wants to serve you pizza,
but that would take a lot of logistics
and consume a lot of time.
Try to train that panda into making a pizza
and then delivering it to a table,
or I could just put in a prompt
and get a humorous picture of a panda delivering a pizza.
No pineapple, though.
That should be illegal, honestly.
I don't know why people do, my wife does that,
and I don't wanna say divorce,
but sometimes I see her eating pineapple pizza,
and I'm all, what did I get myself into?
Why am I still here with a woman like that
that's going to put pineapple on pizza?
I digress.
So the AI purists are kind of happy to see what's going on.
And if you don't believe that the AI is kind of changing,
about 50% of those planned data centers
have been either delayed or canceled.
So they had all these big plans,
and now they're starting to see this backlash,
and they're starting to see that these AI companies
might not be as profitable
as they thought they were going to be.
So a lot of these companies
are pulling back on their data centers
because they don't think there's gonna be the need
to do it in the future,
and those data centers are getting more expensive.
Those data centers are a big problem here
in the world right now.
Really, I was about to say the United States,
but it's the world.
The data centers take a lot of memory
and a lot of different technical components
to build these things out.
Well, those tech companies, Chachapiti, Anthropic,
whoever's building these data centers,
they pay a lot more than the average Joe
trying to buy an Xbox.
So since that's where the money is,
a lot of the companies that make the RAM
are instead of making the RAM for Xboxes,
home computers, whatever,
they've shut down their lines
so they can use that production line
to build more RAM and technology things.
But the stuff they buy to build these data centers,
they're focusing on the data centers
instead of the consumer.
So this has driven up the price of RAM
and all this other stuff.
Basically, AI is ******* up the world right now.
And I say that knowing that the AI overlords
may slap me down, but yeah, it kind of is.
And it's because people are misusing it.
Too many people got way too into it
and didn't realize it was just a tool.
They thought it was that magical thing on the internet.
And that's what it is.
They let it do all their work
and now they're realizing that's not okay.
I mean, even people that have used scripts
for their YouTube videos
are realizing that their videos
are kind of not doing that good
because that AI prompt you put in
is giving the same information
10 other people that want to copy your video.
So now the video you did or the one you're copying
now sounds just like the other ones
with the exact same information.
Matter of fact, I just started a series
about things you should know before you move someplace,
but I've dug deeper.
I've found things that aren't showing up
on all those videos now.
In a year, all the things I talked about this year
are gonna be on 20 other videos
because people will copy everything I said,
or the AI will scrape my videos
and use the same information and give it to everyone else.
It's total BS and AI is just copying everything,
like I said earlier, and it sucks.
But there is backlash now, so that's good.
I think AI is gonna start to slow down.
You know, I think it peaked.
And I think it's gonna go down
till they figure out how to use it properly,
and then it'll just become part of daily life.
If you remember when computers first came out,
they were asking astronomical prices for it
because it was new and everyone needed one.
Well, then when it become a daily thing,
the price went down and the world got better.
I mean, they're still kind of expensive,
but you know, not like they were years ago.
I mean, I forget what the price was,
but I think I paid like $1,300 for an Apple computer.
It was like an Apple Plus back in,
I could be totally wrong about the price,
but it was over $1,000.
And I paid for it for an Apple Plus in like 1983, okay?
84, somewhere around there.
And by today's standards,
that's gotta be a $4,000 computer, you know?
I don't know.
Could be wrong on that math too,
but you get what I'm saying.
Well, as time went on and everyone started making them
and everyone realized that they're an important tool,
but they're not going to change your world 100%.
I mean, everyone, some people did.
They kind of slowed down on the price
and they slowed down on, I wouldn't say the use,
but I think the hope for the future.
Well, I think that's where AI is right now.
The hope for the future that's gonna fix everything
and make the world wonderful and put everyone out of jobs.
I think that people are starting to realize
that's not realistic.
Even YouTube right now, they're not anti-AI,
but they are anti-AI slobs.
So this is another nail in the AI coffin.
They've continued over the last year or so
to delete AI slob channels.
Matter of fact, just recently, I think it's in one month,
they deleted 130,000 channels
that were part of a content farm.
They found 50,000 content farms
that had in total 130,000 YouTube channels
that were just pumping out garbage every single day,
or they were just copying people like me
on 10 different channels.
That was a big problem in the beginning
that I saw when people were copying my stuff.
I would see basically my list on another video
that was all AI, and then I'd see another channel
with a very similar name to that channel,
and they'd have the same video up.
They'd change some of the videos,
and they might actually use a different AI voice,
but they were putting up my videos four different times,
just gambling.
Boom, boom, boom, one of these is gonna hit it,
one of these is gonna hit it,
and that's all they were doing.
Well, YouTube's getting rid of all that garbage right now.
130,000 in like one month.
Now, I hope that keeps going
because the content farms are a real problem.
What it is is you got some 20, 30 guys in India or Vietnam,
and they've just got minimum wage people
just pumping out these videos, pumping out these videos.
They're just flooding YouTube, and they're getting paid,
and then they shut it down because it's AI slop,
and then they just start another one.
Well, now YouTube is starting to identify them better
with their own AI.
So they're using AI to combat AI,
and it's just weird when you think about it.
All right, everyone, that's enough of my rant about AI.
Create your own stuff, think for yourself,
don't use AI, grow on YouTube.
Everyone have a great day.
See you in the next video.
