YouTube Is changing how they count views. August 24th

Hey, everyone hot off the presses. I got YouTube news. I'm not at the office. I'm someplace else And YouTube decided that they were going to start counting views differently if you remember late last year They kind of changed the way shorts views were actually viewed one second. It was counted as a view that type thing Well, they've now moved that to Live streams and long form video. So if you put it up one second is watched you get a view So it's kind of mixed news because it sounds great You're going to be getting more views, but they got this other thing called qualified views You'll be able to see qualified views and those qualified views are the ones they pay for now Facebook and everyone else kind of does this already I can go to facebook see my views and my qualified views are considerably lower Now they only pay you for qualified views meaning i'm not sure what their parameter is right now Is it 15 seconds or 30 seconds worth the video they've got to watch before it's a qualified view I don't know that's on long form Don't know. Um, i'll get back to that on another video, but right now they're changing the way so this happens on august 24th And you're going to see something a little bit different You're going to see a jump in views So your view count on a video is going to go through the roof and this should motivate you Then you're going to see how much you're getting paid and it really hasn't changed because again the qualified views verse Just views so it might Depress you a little bit But don't let it depress you because eventually you're going to get to the point where you can get sponsored videos now If you get sponsored videos one of the first things they look at is what are your views or that's the first glance they get Later on they might ask for a screenshot of your qualified views that might determine a lot But just your views alone they're going to want to Pay more for you or they're going to be a little more interested when they see your views So that's the plus my worry is a lot of you that are monetized right now are going to get a little discouraged When you see your views have almost maybe doubled or at least gone up a third And you're making the same paycheck you made last month, but don't let that discourage you stay motivated This could help you in the long run when you start getting sponsored videos. That's the plan Now youtube has been rolling out their sponsored video segments or their Come thing you can sign up for and they'll bring you sponsors So that's kind of being rolled out Mixed responses. I haven't heard anyone say they've gotten any sponsors out of it, but i'm not talking everyone So this is going to help you make money off of youtube more than it is going to help you make money from youtube Just so just keep that mind It kind of goes back to the thing where i've been thinking that youtube is really trying to go to uh, we don't pay you Other things pay you type things so you bring your own money to the table is basically what I think they're heading towards We'll see how that works out So that's just a quick update.
