The Heat Is Getting Turned Up On YouTube Guru's
Aug 7, 2026
Hey, welcome back everyone.
Good to see you again.
This is like two days in a row we're making videos.
So let's talk about something very interesting.
If you remember a couple of months back,
I made a video about YouTube gurus.
Actually, I think I made a couple of videos,
could be wrong.
But so I made these videos about how much BS
all these YouTube gurus give you.
Now, again, I always got to give the disclaimer.
There's a lot of really legit people out there
that will help you grow your YouTube channel
and they do serve classes.
Then there's the other people
that are basically selling you a bunch of BS
that tell you, you could be raking in millions.
AI this, do this, copy this person.
Well, I did that video.
And then just the other day, I saw that Jack's Film,
which is a pretty good size channel.
He made a video about that whole thing.
And one person in particular, a guy named Dave Nick.
Dave Nick has this YouTube channel
called One Man Business or something like that.
And he's gonna teach you how to get rich on YouTube
and all this other stuff.
It's just total nonsense.
I watched a couple of things on him before
while I was making that other video.
And it's just kind of a scam.
Well, YouTube had enough of him
and they deleted his channel.
I think he's got some other smaller ones,
but his main channel, they deleted it.
Mostly because he was,
I'm not sure the total reason.
I don't think he knows the reason,
but I'm sure what it had something to do with
was giving false information.
I don't know if it's really false,
but it was, he was basically telling people this.
He was trying to sell a get rich quick scheme.
That's all there was to it.
And he wants to sell you a class for like $400.
And in all his things, he tells you,
if you wanna get like this, sign up for my class.
Like you can't figure it out on your own.
Like thousands and thousands of other YouTubers
haven't figured out this crap already.
Now, I'm not sure this guy is the one that did it,
but I'm pretty sure it was.
I talked to a subscriber one time
and she had mentioned how she had just bought a channel
from, I'm not sure if it's that guy,
so I don't wanna say it was,
but one of the gurus.
This guru basically sells monetized channels.
He builds them up and then he sells them, okay?
And they normally have next to no content on it.
What it is, he puts up a couple of videos,
then he runs a bunch of ads or, you know,
so he's just getting the views
and he's getting the subscribers.
So he builds it up through ads
and then he sells it to you for like $20,000.
He put like $3,000 into the whole thing
by building it with ads.
He's monetized, he sells you this video
thinking you're gonna stay monetized.
Well, what if he did it on something like CarStuff
or I don't know, whatever.
For whatever reason, all these bots are on that account
and you think that's gonna help you grow a channel.
It's not.
That's actually something you don't want
because you have a bunch of people
that when whatever you put out goes up on that video
or on that channel, those bots and the people
that he signed up or his people in his program
that just subscribed to all his channels,
they're not gonna be watching your stuff
and that's actually going to hurt you.
And I'm gonna tell you why.
Because you're gonna put up a video
to a bunch of people that just, you know,
they got paid to be on that channel
and you put up a video about whatever.
It could be the best video ever.
They're not into that.
So your click-through rate is gonna be through the floor.
They're gonna look and go,
this guy's got like 5,000 subscribers or whatever
and he got 12 views and his click-through rate is 1.1.
That's not good.
That's not good for your channel.
Your click-through rate has to be somewhere
between four and 10%.
Closer you get to 10% is phenomenal.
If you're over 10%, you're a miracle worker.
I don't know.
You can get that when you're really a small channel
because let's say you're 150, 200 subscribers,
most of those people you know.
So you put up a video and they watch it
because they feel obligated.
Well, when you start getting bigger,
you're somewhere between four and 10%.
But you're gonna buy this channel from a guy.
You're gonna give him 10, $20,000.
You're gonna get this monetized channel.
You're gonna feel like you jumped the line, but you didn't.
You just bought a sinking ship
because no matter what happens,
whatever you do on that channel
is not what those people that aren't bots signed up for.
The bots aren't gonna watch again.
But the people that actually signed up for that channel,
maybe it was the logo, maybe it was the title,
maybe it was the three videos he got up there.
You're not making his videos.
The bots aren't gonna come back.
That's all there is to it.
You're wasting money by doing that.
If you really wanna jump the line,
which I do not recommend this,
but you could start a channel
and use YouTube's own promote thing
to promote your channel and your videos.
You could do exactly what he did.
Put your $1,000, put your $2,000 in there.
Make sure you have some content for him.
This isn't the greatest plan
because you still have a bunch of people
that might not totally be into your channel,
but at least they showed up for a reason.
They saw your thumbnails.
They saw what you had going on.
They might stick around later.
Now, ideally, just grow organically.
That is the best way to do things.
But I mean, if I was gonna say,
let's say you wanna jump the line a little bit,
make sure you have at least two, 300 subscribers already.
You got about 10 videos up there, and then maybe do that.
Again, I don't think that's a great strategy,
but if you're really desperate to get this thing rolling,
that's what I'd do.
Use Google's or YouTube's promote thing
and promote your videos and promote your channel.
Don't pay someone for a fricking channel
that's gonna be just going downhill
from the moment you grab onto it, okay?
That's all there is to it.
Don't buy channels.
But anyway, JacksFilm did this incredible video
on Dave Nick, or whatever his name is,
and how he had got shut down,
and then he pulled up a thing
where the guy was on a podcast,
and he was talking about how he just thought
the government and YouTube saw
that he was teaching people how to make money,
and they didn't like it.
So now it's conspiracy.
It's not the fact that he may have been misleading people.
I don't know the reasons.
I'm just saying he may have been misleading people,
or whatever YouTube decided was the problem with his videos.
It definitely wasn't the fact
that he was teaching people how to make money, okay?
I mean, YouTube does that on their own.
They have little things on the creator support
or whatever their channel is,
where they tell you how to better optimize your videos
and how to make more money on YouTube, okay?
That's not a problem.
It's when you're selling a class
that might not be everything that you say it is.
Not saying that's why David Nick or Dave Nick got in trouble,
but he was doing something on his channel, got him deleted.
Anyway, I just thought it was kind of funny.
I did this video a couple months back
about all these gurus and all their nonsense,
and there's Jack's film doing basically what I had done.
Now, his was way better.
Definitely went in a lot deeper than I did,
but it was basically the theme I had done.
I'm sure people did it before me.
I'm not saying that he ripped me off,
but I just thought it was funny.
The other one that needs to go, in my opinion,
is, what was it, what's his name?
Is this kid, Make Money Matt, okay?
He teaches a class, and he has all these channels.
His sister's got a channel,
but I kind of got on his, or he got on my radar one time
when someone told me he used my video
in one of his videos or my channel,
and it was early days of AI.
He was just telling people how to use AI
to rip off people's videos and rip off their themes
and rip off whatever they're doing on their channel,
and he brought mine up,
and it was one of these things like,
look, you could do this, this, this,
and you could be making $10,000 a month, $20,000 a month.
Easy, you just gotta do this.
Whenever they say easy and YouTube, you know it's bullshit.
That's all there is to it.
Anyone that tells you that you could just steal
from other people, especially these days,
just avoid them like the plague.
Don't copy people.
Maybe get a little inspiration,
but don't go back to their channel
looking for ideas every week, okay?
Anyway, everyone have a great day.
Be nice to each other.
