Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe video discusses reports suggesting the Minnesota Timberwolves may eventually need to move on from Rudy Gobert due to his aging profile and significant contract. While the host acknowledges the financial burden and the rise of young talent like Johann Baron J, he argues that Gobert's unique defensive intangibles remain vital to the team's current success.
So today we begin with insider reveals,
major Timberwolves move in coming.
The question is should the Timberwolves actually get serious about moving off
of Rudy Gobert as Gobert is going to make 36.5
million this year.
He's got a player option for next season at a
38 million.
Welcome back to the Timberwolves digest as always North America.
I'm Dave Duvall and I bring you the latest Minnesota Timberwolves news trade
reports, trade rumors, and of course,
a whole lot of commentary on today's show.
We're going to take a look at this report,
which suggests that the Minnesota Timberwolves will actually have
to move off of Rudy Gobert at some point in the near
future. I know it's hard to believe now a couple questions
for you all out there.
Has the time actually come at this point to say
goodbye to Rudy?
I want to know what your thoughts and opinions are North America.
Please go ahead and drop your comments in.
Now, personally, I would not move off of Gobert.
However, I am a little bit concerned about Gobert's contract.
In other words, he's making 36.5 million this year.
He's got that player option for 38 million next season.
I would want to shore those things up if I could,
if I were Tim Connolly before the NBA trading deadline.
Now, if you are Tim Connolly,
just put yourself in Tim Connolly's shoes for a
second. If you were Tim,
what would you do with Rudy at this point?
Drop your comments in, by the way, new to the Timberwolves digest,
please go ahead and subscribe. And I always like to say,
if you like the pod, well, then go ahead and like the pod.
So we're going to dive into the report now, which was off of heavy.
This is Sean Devaney. I always struggle with Sean's last name.
When it comes to supplementing older talent,
the Wolves big man Rudy Gobert figures to be first in line to
get shipped out of Minnesota, according to heavies NBA
insider, Sean Devaney. So I want to know,
what do you think about that?
Do you think it's a good idea for the Timberwolves to get serious about
shipping Rudy Gobert off?
Now the article continues with the Timberwolves turned
down back, turned down,
back trade interest in Gobert this year,
but eventually we'll need an extension and the team will need to weigh moving
on from him.
Devaney reported like the young big man,
Johann Baron J very much.
I don't know about you.
I'm a big fan of Baron J as well,
though I don't consider Baron J necessarily a Rudy
Gobert type replacement.
What you get with Gobert from a defensive perspective.
And I've said this a lot over the last couple months,
but Rudy Gobert is sort of like the Rodney danger field of the NBA.
He gets no respect.
I think Rudy Gobert brings a lot of other intangibles that quite
frankly, Johann Baron J probably will never have.
He's just quite frankly, a different type of center.
I want to know what your thoughts and opinions are.
Please go ahead and drop them in more on Gobert in just a bit.
So do you all know what actually ruins a great outfit?
Well,
the answer to that question is an old beat up belt that
quite frankly, hasn't fit right in years.
That's why I'm super excited today to have Anson belt and
buckle as the sponsor of today's video.
Instead of holes,
Anson uses a micro adjustable track system with quarter inch
increments.
So your belt fits perfectly every single time.
And I am telling you right now,
once you experience that kind of fit and comfort,
trust me,
you'll never want to go back to wearing a regular belt
again.
Now I've been wearing mine nonstop since I got it.
And honestly,
it is the best belt that I've actually ever had.
Once you try it,
trust me,
you'll never go back to your old belts again.
And if you're wondering why you should trust them,
well,
this is a company that's still proudly family owned and operated
and has earned over 40,000 five-star reviews like this one
from Chad M.
They back their belts with a lifetime guarantee on
functionality.
They stand behind every product they make.
And once you get one,
you'll see why.
And because Anson belt and buckle is sponsoring today's video.
When you click the link in the description or scan the
QR code to build a box set,
you'll get two bonus pieces,
a buckle and a strap completely free.
That's three buckles,
three straps,
which can be mixed and matched into nine unique belt
combos all in one box.
It's an exclusive deal.
You won't get anywhere else.
So click the link,
build your set and upgrade your belt game today.
So here's a little bit more from that report,
which talks about go bear.
I'm just going to leave this up here and let you all
sort of read it.
If you want,
uh,
I will read the bottom part of this,
which says the good thing is the wolves do have players.
They can turn on later as Devon,
a notes Baron J merely 19 years of age is
expected to come quickly down the pipeline.
Now,
as I said,
uh,
about Baron J I think Baron J at this point is,
uh,
a little bit of ways is a different kind of player than a go bear.
I love what he potentially is going to be for this
Minnesota Timberwolves team.
I'm not sure we're going to get there though,
in the next 24 months,
drop your comments in.
I want to know what your thoughts and opinions are.
Now I think go bear matters big time to this
Minnesota Timberwolves roster.
Put up another picture of the Timberwolves.
Probably one of my favorite pictures is this,
uh,
white and purple picture of the Timberwolves with coming in the
front.
I also absolutely love TJ.
I love bones Highland.
I'm a big fan of Clark.
I'm a big fan as well of,
of course,
Jaden McDaniels.
I think Lomelo is going to fit in well,
this Timberwolves roster as it stands today,
I think is the right roster to go with.
I would hate to see the Timberwolves at this point,
go ahead and shake things up by moving off of go bear.
Now,
if I were Tim Connolly,
what I would probably do is take a look at this and say,
okay,
go Rudy's averaging about 11 points a game gets about 11 and a
half rebounds per game.
He's a pretty good passer of the ball for big man.
Yes.
He's 34 years old,
but he's been reliable.
He's no,
he's shown no signs of slowing down at this point.
I think when we talk about go bear,
uh,
so much talk is that people are expecting him to be the
Joker.
That's not who go bear is.
Go bear is not Giannis go bear.
Quite frankly,
is a different kind of player.
Is it kind of a throwback center?
It's going to get you a lot of rebounds.
He's also going to on occasion and have games where he has
five blocks in a game.
He averages between a block and a half and two and a
half blocks per game.
I love go bear on this team,
but I hate to see Tim Connelly actually go past the NBA
trading deadline and risk the possibility that go bear just
simply walks away in free agency,
drop in your comments.
I want to know what your thoughts and opinions are North
America.
Thanks so much for tuning into the Timberwolves digest as
always.
I'm Dave Deball wishing you all a tremendous rest of your
sports viewing day.
