Deadly shooting in Woodland Heights

It's another breaking story here right now. This is coming out of Woodland Heights where Houston police are on the scene of a deadly shooting inside of a home on Omar Street. McKenna Earnhardt is there live with details. McKenna. Yeah, Anthony, we've been here all afternoon. This is just northwest of downtown Houston in the Woodland Heights neighborhood, like you said, and we're on the corner here of Omar and Julian Street where it was inside of this brick home here that police responded to a shooting call. And luckily the incident is isolated to this home. They tell us that there is no active threat to the public and while the scene has just cleared just a few minutes ago, I want to show you some video of what it looks like earlier today. HPD. They got the call around 11 a.m. and officers saw a white male inside the home dead from a gunshot wound. And so I want to let you hear what police had to tell us. Our patrol officers from central were dispatched over here to a person down call at 900 block of Omar Street. Once they arrived on scene, they located a white male that had sustained a gunshot wound. Now, HPD tells us multiple people were inside the home at the time the shots were fired and one adult male was detained for questioning, but he's since been released, we heard. And so we aren't exactly sure at this moment, it's still under investigation as to what exactly led up to the shooting, but as soon as we get more answers, we'll let you know back to you. All right, McKenna. Thank you so much for that live report.
