The State Department announces that over 250,000 visas have been revoked since January 2025.
That's the most we've ever seen under the administration here, especially just in
two years of what we're talking about. Really unprecedented.
State Department spokesman Tommy Piggott says the most common reason for revoking a visa
is criminal activity like DUIs, assaults, and thefts.
Bottom line here is that we are not going to allow foreigners here on visas
We are not going to allow it.
Piggott says they've also been cracking down on birth tourism and birth tourism networks.
Birth tourism is when a pregnant foreign national comes to the U.S.
specifically to give birth so the child will get automatic American citizenship.
We're cracking down on these networks and we're cracking down on the prostitutes
that try to coach people on how to lie to the United States.
The State Department has also stripped legal status from foreign nationals
working on behalf of hostile regimes or who are suspected of hostile intent.
In July, Carlos Dominguez and his family had their legal status terminated
after authorities said he spent over a decade
working for a Cuban communist regime influence operation inside the U.S.
And a Chinese national was charged with smuggling a crop pathogen.
The Justice Department said the fungus is classified as a potential agro-terrorism weapon.
She was deported in November after pleading guilty.
In October 2025, the State Department revoked visas of six foreign nationals
after they celebrated Charlie Kirk's assassination.
We should not be giving visas to people who are going to come to the United States
and do things like celebrate the murder, the execution, the assassination of a political figure.
Officials say every visa decision is a national security decision
and the State Department's continuous vetting is not slowing down.
