How to make Gourmet Custard from Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. One of Gulliver's tasty treats, now available without spending any furniture on it. Here's how you make it.
What You Need:
Custard: 2 tsp gelatin 2 cups half and half 2 egg yolks 2 TBL sugar Pinch of salt 1/2 tsp vanilla
Tangy caramel: 1/4 cup sugar 1 TBL corn syrup 2 TBL water 2 TBL water + 1 TBL lemon juice
Fresh fruit, to serve
For custard: In a small bowl, combine gelatin and a few tablespoons of your half and half. Stir, and set aside. In a medium pot, place eggs and sugar. Whisk until combined. Add the rest of your half and half.
Begin cooking the custard over medium heat until it comes to a very low simmer, whisking the whole way. Then, add your soaked gelatin and stir until it’s dissolved. Stir in your vanilla and pour your custard into a small measuring cup. Carefully pour your custard into jars 1/2 shy of the top. Allow it to come to room temperature, then lid up and refrigerate for at least four hours or until set.
For caramel: In a small bowl, combine 2 TBL of water and lemon juice. Set aside. In a small pot, add sugar, 2 TBL water, and corn syrup. CAREFULLY cook over medium heat until light amber in color. Don’t touch, it could burn! Turn off the heat and immediately add your reserved water and lemon mixture. Stir in using a spatula and place over low heat until a sauce forms, a minute or two. Then, allow to cool.
To serve: Take your set custard out of the fridge and top with caramel and fresh fruit. Serve cold.
Choo-choo, the snack ships come ashore
with a fresh batch of gourmet custard.
First, grab some gelatin
and add a little bit of your half-and-half to it.
A few tablespoons, we're going to use the rest
for the custard, which starts with eggs.
Put them in a medium pot with sugar.
Whisk it up until it's pale.
Then, you can add the rest of your half-and-half.
Cook carefully over medium heat until it reaches
a very low simmer, stirring all the while.
Great, now take it off the heat and stir in your soaked gelatin.
Whisk it in good, we want that gelatin totally dissolved.
Oh, and stir in a little bit of vanilla too.
Pour it into a small measuring cup,
which will make dishing it out pretty easy.
Now I'm using these cute little yogurt cups,
but you can put your custard in any container at all.
Carefully pour it into your container of choice,
allowing a little bit of space at the top.
Let your custard come to room temp,
and then you can lid up and refrigerate until set, about 4 hours.
That's right, no baking needed.
When you're ready to serve, you'll need some caramel.
In a small bowl, place water and lemon juice.
Set that aside. For your caramel,
place sugar, water,
and corn syrup in a small pot.
Carefully cook it until it's
amber in color. Carefully!
This stuff can seriously burn.
Once it looks like this,
turn off the heat
and add your lemony water to stop the cooking. Then, place it
back onto low heat until the sugar dissolves.
Again, a minute or two. Allow it
to cool to room temp.
It'll thicken as it cools, like this.
It's custard time!
Get your custard from the fridge
and carefully pour on your caramel.
And top it with a little bit of fresh fruit,
gorgeous!
And it didn't cost you any furniture,
cool, sweet, and creamy, yummy!
