An Israeli airstrike on a residential block
in Gaza City has killed one woman.
The rescue of her daughter was captured on camera.
The attack happened in the Al-Ramal neighborhood of Gaza City.
Elsewhere in the city,
there are reports of heavy gunfire targeting vehicles and people.
There are near daily attacks on Gaza,
despite a U.S.-brokered ceasefire,
which took effect more than a year ago.
Ibrahim Al-Khalili joins us from Gaza City.
Ibrahim, can you just give us any more information you have about
this latest attack, which has
left at least one person dead?
Yes, Tom.
Palestinians continue to wake up to scenes of death
and destruction as the Israeli attacks
continue on the Gaza Strip.
One of the recent Israeli attacks took place
at around 4 a.m. this morning while people
were asleep.
A deadly Israeli attack targeted a residential apartment
in a remote neighborhood west of
Gaza City, just a few meters from Gaza's Al-Shifa Hospital,
and killed a 33-year-old woman while
her daughter was caught in flames watching her mother burn.
The daughter was rescued from
that fire with a great level of difficulty
from that residential apartment. And for those who
are injured in these attacks one deadly journey
barely ends before another begins and the struggle
is far from over as they reach the hospital they have
to receive an urgent medical care and a
health care system that has been decimated by war
while where the medical staff and facilities
are already under enormous pressure the situation
is going from bad to worse in the light of these
did the Israeli attacks that take place here across
the strip and while these
attacks happen there are other forms
of military activity are taking place in
the strip stretching from northern Gaza
to Gaza City to the central Gaza where a
heavy machine gun were reported
in central Gaza on Salah ad-Din Road which
is a main road connecting the south
from to connecting the south to Gaza City and
And people have been facing a lot of dangers
in the light of these gunfires that are taking place.
Tents are being affected, as well as residential homes.
And let's remind our viewers, Tom, that these ceasefire violations
are taking place amid a continued series of ceasefire violations,
according to Gaza's health ministry.
Around 5,000 ceasefire violations have
been committed by the Israeli military,
killing at least 1,400 Palestinians and people continue to face these
ceasefire violations and let them question what might come next in the
light of these ceasefire violations
that are taking place and they have to
worry about much bigger issues where they have
to take refuge and when the
next strike might happen and these people have been living in the same
cycle of displacement here
and the sense of uncertainty that these attacks bring
on daily basis. These attacks have become a part of daily life of these
Palestinians who have witnessed an unimaginable reality here on the
ground. Tom, thank you
so much for all of that bringing us the realities of what
it is like right now in Gaza. Ibrahim Al-Khalili in Gaza City for us.
