While acknowledging Warner's intelligence, the speaker contends that entering the water despite clear warning signs about rip currents was an act of arrogance rather than a lack of knowledge, comparing the incident to the OceanGate submersible disaster.
Okay, I'm going to say the quiet part out loud.
First of all, condolences to Malcolm-Jamal Warner,
his wife, his daughter, friends, all of that.
This is a sad time.
You know, we all grew up watching The Cosby Show,
especially Gen X.
I'm Gen X.
Love Theo.
Theo's character on The Cosby Show was just, you know,
he's a few years older than me.
So it was like a close friend, a cousin.
it felt like a family member you know what I'm saying
so this is a devastating loss let me just
put that out there I am completely empathetic
however on my page you know I am the voice
um you know I speak out on a lot of things
that people are scared to speak on people are scared
to say and I don't mind sacrificing myself you know
for people to attack me for it um I'm gonna
to say the quiet part out loud.
Malcolm Jamal Warner knew better. This is a brilliant, highly
intelligent man. I'm sure in his entire lifetime,
he's been on millions of vacations. Okay. On a
beach in the Caribbean, tropical islands.
This is a highly intelligent brother. And yes, he may be
an excellent swimmer
but he knew better you don't play with the ******* ocean you don't play
i just went on vacation myself two weeks ago i
was in Puerto Rico um about an hour away from San Juan
at a very uh closed off location a very uh hidden resort right off
the beach and you know the beach
you know being that the resort sits right
on the beach like i said this is hours away from San Juan
This is a very secluded resort, hidden from everything.
The beach, when you walk to the beach,
there are signs everywhere saying, don't *******
play with the rip currents.
There are signs all over the beach warning people,
you go in that water, that's your
ass.
And me being a traveler, you know,
when you travel to all types of tropical locations,
this is normally the case anywhere you go.
whether it's Saint Lucia, Puerto Rico, Costa
Rica, Belize, wherever you go there are signs
hell, even in the U.S. you cannot play
with the rip current, the rip tides, it will pull you down
so again, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, yes we love him, yes
this is a sad time, a sad day, but as brilliant and
as highly intelligent as he
was, why did he go against? I know before he entered the water
those waves was hitting and he saw it visually
and yet he still jeopardized his life going into that
big body of water knowing those currents
was doing what they was doing knowing he was risking his
life, why did he go against that? what
was he thinking in that moment? you know what this
reminds me of, and i'm gonna keep it all the way real
with y'all, OceanGate, that submersible that
machine that, that titanium, it wasn't titanium, what
do they call it? um, Titan, the OceanGate
Titan situation that just happened, what a year
or so ago, was it two years ago when those five
billionaires multi-millionaire billionaire men got in that submersible
and they thought they
could go down all the way down to see the Titanic
and the machine fell apart. It blew up in an
instant and they all disintegrated within seconds.
Why would these extremely rich, intelligent,
brilliant men risk their lives like that to go underneath
the sea, leave their families behind?
Why would they risk so much knowing the dangers of the ocean?
Men, this is not women, this is men,
So I'm just putting two and two together, y'all.
This has nothing to do with intelligence,
but it has a lot to do with arrogance.
Thinking you're above human nature,
playing with human nature, playing with God.
And I'm going to leave it at that.
Malcolm knew better.
And now there's a family that's hurting and grieving
because he chose to go against Mother Nature
and play with God.
like most men, is it a godlike complex
is it narcissism, we we will never know you know
Malcolm was known for you know his acting
and his poetry like I said brilliant brother but he also
was very private we don't know what type of person he
was behind closed doors because he lived a very
private life maybe more of that information will come
to pass in the days to come I'm just like
there are warning signs all over these beaches you know
if you guys turn on the news there's
you know all the news stations are over there
in Costa Rica the beach that where he lost his life
all the news stations are there right now
and they're showing people there are warning signs
all over the beach don't ******* go in the water don't play
with the rip currents don't play with
the riptides malcolm went against that listen let's have
a discussion in in the comment section
because it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know
you don't play with the ******* ocean.
And that's all I'm going to say.
