Coming up my forecast and it's actually right now 545 on your Friday
and we are taking a live
look right into the heart of Flagstaff breezy
conditions out there it was pretty windy earlier
things are dying down a little bit but at the airport
which is a little farther south than town
in Flagstaff those winds are coming out
of the northeast at 18 miles an hour their temperature
right now 43 degrees here
in the valley look we're still continuing to see some very breezy
conditions to start us off this morning coming out
the northeast there at 20 miles an hour
data or rather our temperature currently 78
degrees let's talk about those daytime highs
we'll get up to about 87 degrees mostly sunny skies
but our big weather story is going to
continue to be those very windy conditions
for today by tonight we'll see those clouds start
to move into the forecast area we'll get
to that in just a second but first let's take a look at
those current temperatures low 70s from Glendale up
into Surprise upper 60s right now in Wickenburg
79 and Buckeye mid 70s right now in Mesa 78 and AJ
and those low 70s at the Gateway Airport up
in the high country, low 40s in Flagstaff,
mid 40s at the Grand Canyon, and then those low 70s
along the western side of our state.
Satellite radar picture, as you can see, not showing much
out there, but by tomorrow, especially tomorrow morning,
we're going to start to see those clouds
start to move into the forecast area.
Chance of seeing some rain by late tomorrow morning,
and then that could continue up into portions
of the high country by tomorrow as well. But our big
weather story for this Friday is going to be the wind,
and as you can see, pretty much everybody
in Arizona is going to be under some sort of advisory
or warning. Let's start with the
advisory. All of the areas that you see shaded
in this kind of khaki color, that's that wind
advisory. Now, they have extended
this a little bit until 6 p.m. this evening, and then for that
southeast corner of the state,
they're going to be under that high wind warning, and that's going to
last through the overnight hours and into early tomorrow morning,
and that will include a small
portion of Pinal County.
Current wind speeds out there, we're at 28 mile an hour wind speeds in
Bullhead City, the 20s in places like Sedona,
as well as down here into Phoenix. And so pretty
much the entire state seeing some very, very breezy conditions.
Let's talk about the wind
gusts because we could see some of those wind gusts here
in the valley, anywhere from 40
to 45 miles an hour, 30 to 35 mile an hour winds possible in Payson.
And again, those 40 to 45
mile an hour winds possible in the Flagstaff area.
So if you have any of those decorations out
for Halloween, you might want to just tuck them
into the garage today because of these winds.
Now, keep in mind, when we have these winds picking up,
especially anywhere from 40 to 45 miles an hour,
we could potentially see some damaging winds.
We could also see some blowing dust
a little bit later on this afternoon,
which could diminish visibility on any of our roadways out there,
especially the 8 as well as the 10 just south of town.
So just keep that in mind as you
are making plans throughout the rest of your afternoon.
Forecast highs for today will top out close to 87 degrees, which
is right on par with where we should be for this time of the year.
We'll see those 60s along the rim country, low 70s today in Sedona
and continuing over to Prescott, upper 50s in Flagstaff,
and then those low 90s along the western side of our state.
Here is that 10-day forecast,
slight chance of some showers possible for tomorrow.
The National Weather Service giving us about
a 20% chance Sunday in those low 80s,
and then we're warming up as we head into the beginning
of your work week into those upper 80s once again.
