With stories that matter to you, this is Fox 6 News at 9.
Now on Fox 6 News at 9 on Fox Local,
a hero's welcome home for the National League champs.
The World Series-bound Brewers back in Milwaukee,
fresh off their NLCS Game 4 sweep over the Dodgers.
And that is our big story tonight.
Next up, the World Series.
The Brewers get to sleep in their own beds tonight after
making the flight from Los Angeles this afternoon.
Thanks for joining us here on Fox Local.
Kim Murphy was there at Mitchell as the team touched down,
and she greeted the team as they got off the plane
and then got on the buses to head right back to the ballpark.
Here we see the plane coming into view,
and there's the water cannon.
I believe that they're
waving the Brewers flag.
That's definitely the Brew crew.
They are back in Milwaukee.
coming back in fashion skipper Pat Murphy one
of the first people off the plane he was followed
by the coaches Brewers owner Mark Attanasio there he
is other staffers they came off first and then
more players there's the ms everyone was handed
a world series winter cap fitting for today's
weather especially if you're coming from Los Angeles
so oh there's Christian Yelich sal
Frelick putting on the hat William Contreras just to name a few
and after getting off the plane the
players boarded the waiting buses that's
when the VIP treatment continued the crew getting a law
enforcement escort onto Howell Avenue down Layton
and then up 794 they went over the hone and through
downtown before ending up at American Family Field
and brewers fans are showing their pride
off from coast to coast shouting pretty much at anyone
who will listen to them especially at
airports all across the country our Bril Presiado
is live at Mitchell talking to fans arriving home
hey Bril that's right you guys said it best fans
are showing their love to the Brewers from
coast to coast and that is exactly what we have
been seeing here at Mitchell International Airport
throughout the day that we have spent out here i
mean i'm just telling you uh we saw several fans
either wearing their Brewers shirts
their hats like like the one that i'm wearing right now
or just sporting any type of Brewers swag to show their favorite team
so much love regardless of
where um the different destinations that they're coming
from we spoke to uh several folks that were
coming from different areas like Denver others from Nashville
but all of them obviously showing
that love and sharing that same excitement
that we all witnessed watching them uh beat the Dodgers
last night and securing their spot in the World Series uh we
were able to uh speak to one fan that
is from Milwaukee he tells me he was away on a work trip
and he saw the game from his hotel room
he arrived today and we also spoke from a dog we
also spoke to a Dodgers fan uh who uh came from
Kansas City but also had a lot to say
um check out what they both had to say yeah
there was a pretty good handful of people
on the flight and the pilot was
nice enough and the flight flight crew
was nice enough to kind of give us
congratulations for the Brewers win
and got a big round of applause and just he
said he's rooting for us Dodgers my whole life
so yeah I'm pretty excited
about Milwaukee they were a great team
but comes around goes around we got them
last year they got us
so i'm glad for their franchise to to get over that hump and go to
the World Series so it's exciting
and it's ironic that i was landing at this airport today to
celebrate with all the Milwaukee people
so obviously many of the folks that we spoke to
including that Dodger fan that we spoke to they say
that they're just really excited to see the
Brewers also take on the big screen
and you know play in the World Series obviously many of these
folks very much excited uh i know earlier today we
were showing you guys uh the little shop that
they have out here where they have several several shirts uh laying out
but i know since before they
closed down uh for the night uh they had only a few that were left over
so that just goes to show
uh the magnitude and just the excitement
that is just overflowing in the area uh as even as
folks that are also arriving into Milwaukee here
so i'll send it back to you guys reporting live
live from Mitchell International Airport.
Avril Preciado, Fox 6 News. Avril, I noticed something
different about you. You've got the hat on.
Did you make a purchase yourself?
Yes, I am one of those customers that, yeah,
ended up also grabbing a hat myself because I'm like,
I need to get it now. Easy to get caught up in all of this.
You think she's throwing away the
Dodgers hat now? Yeah, what happened to your Dodgers stuff?
My Dodgers hat is still there.
that's that's home for me right but we're i live in Milwaukee now
so yes i have to support it gotta
support the team bandwagon's open you're allowed
to be on board yes good looking good in that
thanks Avril no matter who ends up winning
the ALCS game one of the World Series is next Friday
at American Family Field then game two is Saturday
the 24th the series will then move to the home of
the American League champion, for games 3 and 4.
Now, if necessary, game 5 will be Wednesday the 28th.
That's on the road.
Then after that, the series shifts back to Milwaukee for games 6 and 7
on October 30th and the 31st.
All game times just announced as well, 7 p.m.
And fans packed into the Brewers' team store today.
They were looking for official World Series merchandise.
There are two stores at the stadium.
There's one on the left field gate
and one right there at the home plate gate entrance.
they're going to have locker room caps
and t-shirts that were worn by the team on-field
hoodies the novelty items like the pins
and pendants we're told the store will make orders
over the phone they can ship items they will arrange
in-store pickup do you think the hats
that they were handing to the players off
the plane oh yeah those are headed there any minute
now right and well for this time of year
while many want the official gear the Wisconsin
Department of Consumer Protection they
do warn about what could happen if you buy some of that
knock-off merchandise.
It may not hold up after one or two washings. They could have
seams that aren't complete and threads that are there,
logos that peel off. But you could also
have product that doesn't meet current safety standards.
So maybe they don't meet proper
flammability. You could have product
that has coloring that contains lead or formaldehyde.
There could also be just comfort.
Maybe the product smells funny or it could be itchy to
wear as well because of the materials that it's made up
of I do not want a funky smelling Brewers
t-shirt the team store hours
are being extended after last night's win of course they're going
to open Monday through Saturday nine in the morning to 6 p.m
and then on Sunday from 9 a.m
to 4 p.m and you can also email them an order
if you want team store at brewers.com and when it
comes to buying tickets there are currently none available through
the Brewers official site or box
office, but you can buy them from resale sites for much more.
Tickets for game one range from
about $2,700 for a terrace seat
to nearly $14,000 right behind home plate. On StubHub, tickets range
from about $2,300 for standing room to $13,500.
Similar situation on Ticket King with tickets
between $3,000 and $9,700.
Now, those are on the far ends of the spectrum. Many tickets seem to
fall between $3,500 and $6,000 range.
Now, if you are looking for less expensive tickets on other
platforms, first, use an established platform
that will guarantee your ticket. Use a credit card
because they offer better protection against fraudulent charges.
And be skeptical of what you find
on social media pages like Instagram or Facebook.
Then insist on an in-app transfer of those tickets.
Yeah, be careful out there, especially when you're spending that much.
Because of Game 1 of the World Series,
the Milwaukee Bucks and the Admirals,
they're making some changes.
For the Bucks, next Friday is their regular season home opener.
The Bucks will now play at 3 in the afternoon instead of 7.
So fans can have a nice double dip with the Bucks and Brewers.
The Admirals also moved their game next Friday,
the 23rd, to Sunday, the 25th.
Let's talk about the weather now.
Man, was it windy when the Brewers blew back in the town.
If you thought it was chilly out today, ooh, just you wait.
Temperatures will be dipping for some
into the freezing territory tonight.
Now, weather expert Stephanie Barrichello
is here with the first look at the forecast.
Yeah. Hi, Ben and Ashley. Would you hate me
if I told you I just put the wind chill graphic back in my show?
That hurt a little bit, but we already
feel like 30s in many communities.
It just goes to show how chilly the night really is going to be.
Air temperatures are in the 40s across the board,
and we're talking low 40s in northern communities.
42 right now in Fond du Lac, 41 in Sheboygan,
40 for Juneau, and then mid-40s from Waukesha
and Milwaukee south into Burlington, Kenosha, Racine.
The wind is still pretty blustery.
It's nowhere near as bad as what it was earlier,
but still registering about 5 to 15 miles per hour.
And now that temperatures are below 50, with that wind, we feel cooler.
Look at this.
Again, I had to dust it off, if you will.
We're feeling like mid-30s in those northern communities
and even 39 to feel like for Milwaukee as well as Waukesha.
Now, a reminder, we have a freeze warning
for inland areas plus Sheboygan County.
Frost advisory for Ozaukee County down to Kenosha County.
Inland areas, temperatures by morning will likely
be around or just below 30.
So that's below freezing.
And even lakeshore communities,
even if our air temperatures fall to mid-30s,
we could still have frost by the time we wake up tomorrow morning.
So take the proper precautions, if you
haven't already, before you head to bed.
Cover those sensitive plants or bring them inside.
I will talk more about a gorgeous weekend ahead.
Still windy, but sunny.
Those details are coming up.
Back to you.
I like the word gorgeous.
All right, Steph, we'll see you soon.
Track the weather anywhere, anytime.
This is the time.
You're already on the Fox Local app.
Why don't you get the Fox 6 Storm Center app?
That's free, too.
We have the best radar in the market,
and you get severe weather alerts based on your location.
And, yeah, once again, free.
That's what we like around here, free app.
The NFL has notified the Packers that running back Josh Jacobs
will soon be removed from the commissioner exempt list.
It will be after Sunday's game with the Cowboys.
Jacobs will be eligible to play
on October 25th against the Lions in Detroit.
Jacobs had been barred from practicing or playing
in games after an altercation with his then girlfriend in May.
The running back pleaded no contest to battery
and criminal damage to property.
A teacher being credited as a hero after
a teen opens fire inside an Oregon school.
The update from law enforcement on the deadly shooting.
Plus, the grappler strikes again for the second night in a row.
The tool that's all of a sudden getting
a lot of use for one area police department.
Hey, if you're on social media,
chances are this popped across your feed.
Tonight, we're going to catch up with the young Brewers fan
talking about his viral fame when Ted Perry interviewed him
Out in L.A. We're back in two minutes.
Fox 6 News continues with Ben Handelman and Ashley Sears.
The FBI is assisting with the investigation
into a deadly school shooting that happened Thursday in Oregon.
The community is still in shock as police and administrators work
to figure out what happened and make sure it never happens again.
Fox's Caroline Elliott has the story.
I just figured, okay, today is a day that I'm sure
that every teacher at the school thought today
is a day that I'm going to die saving my kids.
Teachers and students at Silver Rail Elementary School reliving
the horrific moments.
A 16-year-old shooter broke
into the school Thursday armed with a shotgun.
From her classroom window,
5th grade teacher Kathy Smith saw the shooter walking into the school.
She then called the front office to warn them
and hid her students at a corner,
praying he would not come into her classroom.
They were so afraid to look at their faces.
It was really hard to see.
I was trying to calm them down.
Some kids were praying.
Some kids were consoling other kids.
And so what they were doing so quietly
because they know you don't make any noise.
In total, four victims were killed.
A teacher and three young students just 5, 8, and 11 years old.
According to police,
the shooter broke into the school using a gun purchased by his mom.
The suspect went directly into the classroom, immediately
to the left of the entry doors, where he fired as many as 15 rounds.
All of the victims were shot in that classroom.
A teacher in the classroom threw her cell phone at the suspect
and then tackled him and fought to take the firearm from him.
She was not injured in that incident,
but she almost certainly helped prevent more bloodshed.
And police are praising a bystander
who stopped the shooter less than three minutes after the
attack started, saying it could have been much worse.
In New York, Caroline Elliott, Fox News.
Prosecutors have charged a 13-year-old boy
with beating up a fellow student at a Milwaukee K-8
school. Happened Thursday afternoon at Ralph Metcalf School.
Now, prosecutors said a 13-year-old
beat up the eight-year-old as the younger child walked
into an empty classroom at lunch.
That's where they're trying to eat their lunch.
The 13-year-old boy is now charged in juvenile court
with three counts of substantial battery and one count of child abuse.
Milwaukee Public Schools said in a statement
the boy hit his head on a doorframe
after being stopped by that other student.
The district says it's working with Milwaukee police
and will take appropriate disciplinary action.
A Milwaukee man has been sentenced to decades in federal prison
for the death of a U.S. Postal Service worker in 2022.
40-year-old Kevin McKay, sentenced this week to 38 years behind bars.
He and others were charged in connection
to the shooting death of Andre Cross
as he worked to deliver mail.
Prosecutors believe McKay and one of the co-defendants
were involved in a scheme to mail drugs from California to Milwaukee
and that Cross was targeted.
For the second night in a row, the Pleasant Prairie Police
Department uses its new grappler device to stop a fleeing driver.
That's crazy. They just got this thing.
And look at this. Officers tried stopping the SUV for speeding.
Didn't have any lights on.
Well, officers turned on their lights, gave chase,
lasted several miles before police said they brought out the grappler.
Quickly putting them in the pursuit.
Didn't know what that is, like a net on the front of their car.
Turns out the SUV had been stolen minutes before the chase.
It was actually just yesterday morning that, for the first time,
Pleasant Prairie Police actually used their grappler to stop a suspect.
Look, this is a good indication how it works.
Just like that.
Watch, this is an even better view here.
You see they put the thing on,
and then that person just stopped there, too.
So it comes off the front of the car,
stops the other vehicle pretty much instantly,
and it's tethered to the front of the squad
so the other car can't get away.
Pleasant Prairie is the second agency
in the state to have the grappler system.
The other is Monona Police, and they've used their Grappler too.
Police in Twin Lakes say they identified several suspects
and have made arrests in a smash and grab heist at a collectible store.
This is video from the burglary back in August.
You can see the thieves smash the front door to get in.
In the next seven minutes, police say they ended up stealing
more than $300,000 in merchandise, mostly Pokemon cards.
We learned four suspects have been identified by law enforcement.
Police say two have been charged.
Well, I'm proud of my skeletons because
when I left for work, they were still standing.
That's good.
I don't know if they're still standing.
But usually by the next morning, they have fallen.
We should explain, though, you have skeletons in the yard.
They're not just you.
They're plastic skeletons.
Yeah.
I feel like you're the one I know that made a skeleton.
There's a lot of explaining.
It would be a movie.
He's been saying it right on the news for years.
Nobody thought to check out his house.
No, these are Halloween decorations.
What's the count at now?
Six.
Six.
Every year I get one skeleton.
No, Amelia's six years old.
I have six skeletons.
Oh, you're right.
Yes, yes, yes.
Okay.
So every year.
Wow.
Well, Kim Murphy got me a little skeleton.
I did see that.
That's my seventh.
Oh.
But does that go outside?
It's outside.
Okay.
I put it in a bag because it's a beach theme for my skeletons.
And the skeleton's in a bag.
Wow.
Well, they're not holding any flowers, right?
No.
No.
Okay, good.
Because you'd have to bring them in.
Oh.
Mmm.
How about my mom's?
That was a good transition right there.
It's the weather.
If you say so.
That was a little taste of, like, the 4 o'clock news.
Look, Ashley can't even control herself anymore.
That was so good.
Anyways, happy Friday, everybody.
It was a chilly day to say the very least.
And the big story going forward tonight is the fact that we have frost
and freeze headlines for the first time this season.
It has felt like fall today. High temperature only reached 55 degrees.
Well below the seasonal normal of 61 plus just a huge change
from where we started the work week Monday with a high temperature,
a record high temperature of 87. Now we're in the mid 40s
with a feel like temperature of 39 degrees there.
Milwaukee, that is because the wind is still on the blustery side.
It's about 10 to 15 miles per
hour in most communities.
So even in Milwaukee, we are going to likely see low to mid 30s,
especially within the full county.
The city of Milwaukee itself has the chance to see
lows maybe 34, 35 degrees.
Even though that's above freezing, frost is still possible and
really looking likely. So take those proper precautions.
Again, the mums, the sensitive
plants bring them inside or cover them before you go
to bed here likely in the next couple of hours
there is a freeze warning for everybody inland
and it also includes Sheboygan County so that's
1 a.m to 9 a.m that's for temperatures below 30 degrees some upper 20s
are going to be possible
inland and then everybody else Ozaukee down
to Kenosha County that is a frost advisory
temperatures likely ranging from low to mid 30s overnight
so even though temperatures will still
be a little bit warmer lakeside.
Again, frost is still a possibility. Here's a preview of what
lows really could be throughout the night tonight.
I do think there's the possibility of seeing some
upper 20s inland. Notice the difference up and down the lakeshore,
just a little bit warmer,
but clouds will continue to clear
and that will aid in a rapidly dropping temperature in most
areas. Speaking of cloud cover,
actually the majority of it is almost gone. All the rain is
out of our area. We had those spotty pesky showers much
of the day today. There is still some rain
out over Lake Michigan, but it will not be an issue for us.
In fact, as we look out towards
the west, there is a high pressure system
and a good chunk of the upper plains completely clear.
So we will enjoy clear skies, not just tonight,
the next couple of days. Let's check in with
Sky Vision Plus, focusing on the weekend.
Clear skies for tonight, still going to be a little
breezy, but notice by morning how the wind subsides
a little bit. Frosty and chilly to
get your Saturday morning started.
Sunshine all throughout the day, but it is still going to be
windy and it's going to be chilly high temperatures will likely
be in the mid maybe upper 50s during
the day tomorrow so still
a bit below average now sunday same deal plenty of sunshine a stronger
southwest wind not quite as bad as today
but it will still be on the strong side but that should
get us to low 60s by late in the day sunday
and we are gradually going to climb day by day all
the way through next week and we have a completely dry forecast
which is pretty impressive right for
this time in the fall so we had our rainy day thursday today we
also had a few showers and from
here we have a completely dry forecast i think maybe late wednesday
a couple of sprinkles but
not that great of a chance at this point temperatures you'll
also notice gradually
climb we should be back above average by you know
the middle of next week and maybe even 70
by next thursday so i'm hoping if we could keep
that going friday for the first game of the world
series that'd be great ideal i did bring a plant
in today you told me that you didn't see someone
listens to the forecast we gotta take a quick
two-minute break you're right the brewers sweep
of the dodgers means that la's fire chief will
be rocking some new brewers gear he lost a bet
milwaukee fire chief aaron lipsky
who spoke with us on fox six now this afternoon is bragging about
it i would say you're double victorious
because not only are the milwaukee brewers headed to the
world series you won yourself a little bet i did i did uh myself
and uh chief moore from the city
of la engaged in some uh friendly banter
and uh as it turns out we won so now i get to uh uh
lightly shame him for the by having him wear this fire helmet
which has the milwaukee brewers logo
on it indicated as the champions but also him
wear nice milwaukee fire department t-shirt
which you might notice is a little undersized yeah it looks kind
of like a kid's size there
tomato tomato okay when we saw that you had kind
of invited him to participate in this wager
We loved the idea.
How did you come up with it to kind of say,
let me throw this out on social media, let's see if he's game?
Well, full disclosure, this was actually his idea.
Really?
It was, but a little slow on getting going.
And after we just crushed them in games, he called me and he goes,
this doesn't look right if I challenge you to this right now.
And I said, I understand we are doing really, really well right now.
And so I said, I'll kick it off,
and then you respond, and back and forth.
And the great news is we've got a side bet going
that deals with getting some money donated to charity.
And so we'll do a little reveal on that because it's all with nothing
but good humor in mind, and it might as well help out.
Can't wait to see that chief in that tiny shirt.
How big do you think he is?
He's got to be a big guy, right?
6'7", 280.
Well, a kid from Minnesota is going viral for his Brewers celebration.
Have you seen it?
His name is Samson, and he's telling us all about his overnight fame
after we walked up to him
and got unexpectedly maybe the greatest moment of last night.
Plus, it's been more than 40 years since
the Brewers went to a World Series,
and we're going to go back even further than that.
A bat boy from the 1957 World Series has all grown up.
he's going to recount the series at County Stadium
and Tesla's new vehicle can climb
like a spider and fly like a rocket the impressive
display Fox 6 News continues with Ben Handelman
and Ashley Sears in the big celebration
of last night's win came a truly heartwarming moment our
Ted Perry was interviewing fans at Dodger Stadium
and he met one very special fan and what happened
next it went viral for good reason.
Samson, you're all smiles, buddy. We are going to the
World Series. How happy are you, my friend?
He was crying earlier. You're going to make me cry.
Yeah. Samson was born with quad spastic cerebral palsy,
so he's never walked,
but he's walking tonight. Let's go, Samson!
You're doing it! You're doing it!
Who's your favorite player, Samson?
Jackson Chase!
You got two favorite players.
Buddy, I've never been happier for a fan than I
am for you right now, all right?
Let's go win the World Series.
Yeah!
All right, guys.
I didn't think I was going to tear up, but that got to me.
I'm sending it back to you guys.
So sweet.
That was 13-year-old Samson Herman getting
Ted all choked up live on television.
Well, we tracked Samson down today.
He and his dad, David, spoke with our Maddie Stelk
on Fox 6 Now about that moment.
I want you guys to take me back to last night, the final out,
found out the Brewers are going to the World Series.
What was your reaction in that moment?
Just the emotion and sheer happiness for the city
and our players and staff.
I think that this is a big moment, and I'll always remember it,
and people in Wisconsin will too.
so dad what was it like for you yeah
and yeah it was uh you know so we we had tickets that were
higher up in the third level
of the stadium they're obviously more affordable um but at the
towards the end of the game we did this the night before too
so two nights ago for game effectively
three and when we knew that there's a chance uh
to basically see them clinch we went all the way
down to what they call ground level in dodger stadium
and then we just asked them for permission
to come into those sections a lot of the dodgers fans had already left
or were leaving uh and then
so we were just basically in a an adaptive
of a wheelchair friendly area uh down there and then
you know it was mostly milwaukee brewers fans people
were crying people were you know just it
was just a crazy atmosphere samson started crying i
was verklempt it was crazy and then obviously
when they did clinch uh you know cheerio got that last out
but if you remember from two nights ago
he also got the first home run first pitch
so it was just like the perfect storybook ending to
a mini trip over a vacation yeah
and that moment afterwards now viral like mega viral samson i know
you've been uh giving your dad a little razzing him up here
and there talking about the viral
moment did you think at that time oh
this is this is gonna blow up oh no not really but when it
happen it happened and then that's just the reality
so i think it might have touched a lot
of hearts because uh cerebral palsy
is a really uh challenging condition and he was unfortunately
born that way so we've done uh thousands
and thousands of hours of therapy but um fundamentally
they need further science to fix that condition
but uh but he's working hard every day and and
he loves sports. His dream is to be a sports announcer.
We don't know about the feasibility
of that, but one never knows.
In the video, you said who your favorite players were, the Miz
and Jackson Chourio. You've already gone super viral.
There's a chance they might see this
interview. If they're watching right now,
what do you want them to know? What would you say to them?
They're just great, and I want them to keep it up
and try to bring a championship to Milwaukee.
so we'll see he's going on 14 um this is obviously huge for him
and uh if he tells me that he's that
he's viral and he's a big superstar one more time i swear i'm gonna
no i'm just kidding it's it's
just a really neat experience and we're just
so happy to still be here in california we're headed
to the beach shortly after this and uh you know just blessings
to all the people that reached out
and to the community and, of course, to the Milwaukee Brewers.
Let's go. Let's bring it. Bring it.
We love Samson. What an unforgettable experience.
Yeah, Samson and his family, they live in Minnesota,
and Dad actually lived in Milwaukee at one point,
and that's why they're all diehard Wisconsin sports fans.
As for the World Series right now, they have no plans to go
unless they can find a good deal on tickets.
But, wow, I think just what they experience out there in L.A.,
That will stick with them for a lifetime.
Someone has 77,000 reasons to be happy for the Brewers' win last night.
They put down a $33,800 bet at the Pottawatomie Casino Sportsbook,
betting that the crew would win Game 4.
Well, they were right to the tune of a payout of just over $77,000.
Got to be willing to lose a lot of money, though, to make some money.
Lucky wrestler.
Was it you?
Well, you'll never know.
I drive my new car in.
We can't talk about how the Milwaukee Brewers got here without
a dive into the team's past.
And we're going way back to 1957
when the Milwaukee Braves won the World Series.
Yeah, when he was just 15 years old, Terry Sheehan was hired
to be the visiting team's bat boy at the county stadium.
He's got a treasure trove of memories.
The highlight might be this signed bat
from the World Series winners that he keeps under glass.
Sheehan has loved baseball his entire life,
but says the memories from the dugout, they are priceless.
He remembers every score, every play, and every player
who came through the county stadium that season and beyond.
He'll be rooting for another World Series win.
But before that, we asked him how the game
is different from when he was a kid.
So it's hard to make comparisons, but I'll do the best I can.
Today, they're so much bigger, so much stronger.
They throw so much harder.
They make so much money.
Teams are not together anymore.
Milwaukee used to keep their players unless they were traded.
And Milwaukee made some wonderful trades.
But it's just a different game today.
It's been a lucrative job back in 1957.
Sheehan says he got paid $2.50 a day
and considers this in 1953.
He says his father had box seats at County Stadium that cost $3.50.
Yeah, a little more expensive these days.
Fox 6 Morning reporter Andrew Amuza having some fun this morning.
Did you see it on morning kickoff? It was on Fox 6. Wake up.
Haley, I survived! I survived!
I survived! Let's go! Come on now!
I have no idea what's going on.
Our teams are at Racine Case and Indian Trail High Schools.
Now, if you'd like to see more of the fun,
although I'm not sure this looks like fun for Mr. Amuzu,
we've posted clips on Fox6Now.com.
We're going to bring you the highlights from tonight's showdown
on the high school blitz right after college football.
Do they have like a chair hitting club at this high school?
like is there a wrestling club like a pro wrestler
or something along those lines yeah i think andrew
needs to work on the acting well tesla this is wild
because i thought this was fake they showed
off its new car and let's just say where we're
going you don't need any roads the wild features
in the new tesla roadster as it gives new meaning
to off-roading wow that's impressive when it comes
to the weather. Temperatures will be a bit impressive,
but they are going to be chilly
when we wake up tomorrow morning.
I'll talk about our frost and our freeze.
Elon Musk taking on new heights, literally.
Finally unveiling the new Tesla Roadster that
flips, flies, it even fires rocket thrusters.
Called Roadster, it doesn't even stay on the
road. Fox Business correspondent Jeff Flock is in Warminster,
Pennsylvania with an inside look
at this new rocket of wheels according to elon musk
at dealerships like this one pretty soon
the only tesla vehicle you'll be able to buy
that you can actually drive will be the new tesla
roadster here's what it looks like as it rolled out
at the spacex rocket facility down in texas
last night uh sort of looks a little bit like the cyber truck
but it's not about what the car looks
like it's about what it does yeah like climb a wall perpendicular
then go into an upside down
mode fly into the air flip over
and lower itself down how does it do that well rocket thrusters
that actually lift the car up
or in some ways suck it down yeah according to elon musk this car
sucks it's using an advanced uh ultra high pressure uh air tank
so the car can recharge
its air tank so it's not like you you know need special propellant
or anything like that it
literally is just going to pop itself up and uh
and and and be able to do this these maneuvers
whenever you'd like and if what you like may
to be a jump over a traffic jam in your way well
The Roadster may have you covered as well, using the thrusters,
lifting up and jumping over an entire fleet of Tesla vehicles,
including that semi autonomous semi truck that Tesla is developing
and then coming down on the other side.
Well, what about more conventional tasks
like actually just driving fast on the road?
Got you covered there, too.
In a video that was shown,
the new Roadster went from 0 to 60 in one second flat.
That would break the all-time record.
Great cars now, even between 1.2 and 1.8 seconds for 0 to 60.
Then Elon Musk said, I think we can go faster.
and live they ran it again
and he says he claims they got down to zero to 60 in 0.81 seconds car
going about 230 miles per hour they say uh
and as musk himself points out this will not be one
for the faint of heart to drive i should you know say
that this is not uh necessarily a safety
optimized car okay uh but it is uh it takes
the the fun meter to 11 out of 10. speaking of numbers
one thing they didn't announce was how much
this is all going to cost what they did say is if you
want one though and one of those founders versions
the ones that do the flying that will take a
deposit of 250 000 dollars uh
and if you want just the conventional version that'll be a deposit of
$50,000 depending on how many people sign up it figures
to be a pretty good no interest loan for
a vehicle that won't be in production until 2028
but sometimes the future is going to cost you
in warminster pennsylvania at the tesla dealership i'm jeff flock
with the fox business network would
you ever get my vehicle no i was going to say
was someone actually in that driving i don't know
Because this was all about the autonomous stuff, right?
It's crazy.
It all looks fake to me.
I know.
It looked like a movie.
Movie, yeah.
Or AI.
I just think everything it did was go upside down.
I can't even go on swings anymore.
And I want to vomit,
let alone being in an upside-down car spinning over traffic.
It'd be great for a movie set, right?
All right.
Let's talk about our weather.
It's been a little tough to, like, drive around because of the wind.
Is that dying down out there?
For this evening, yes, but unfortunately it does pick right back up.
So the weekend is going to be a bit on the blustery side.
I think we're going to be doing a lot of raking
this weekend just based off of the rain we just saw
and some of the higher winds from today.
A lot of leaves down, unfortunately.
And now going forward, we have a chilly night ahead.
So a reminder that we have a freeze warning for everybody inland,
including Sheboygan County.
So everybody in dark purple.
And that is for temperatures below freezing,
but more than likely below 30 degrees.
So a couple upper 20s going to be a possibility.
Ozaukee County down to Kenosha County under a frost advisory.
That is for the entire county.
It will be cooler in western parts of the county, but even lakeside.
So for Milwaukee itself,
temperatures could still fall between 34 and 35 degrees.
And frost can still occur even
when temperatures are slightly above freezing.
So take those proper precautions,
cover sensitive plants or bring them inside.
We are certainly in good company, too.
There is a swath of the central
U.S. right now under freeze warnings all the way down to the south.
Northern Texas included in a freeze warning.
And even out east ahead of this cooler,
air mass moving in, already some freeze watches in effect.
Temperatures are already dropping quite a bit, too.
Look at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, 39, 35 in North Platte.
It's 45 here in Milwaukee, 32 in Marquette, Michigan.
And Rhinelander, the coldest spot when we look closer to our home,
sitting at 29 degrees.
Now, forecast lows for tonight, again, going to range anywhere
from upper 20s to around 30 in many inland areas.
And then closer to Lake Michigan,
I'd say anywhere from 32 to about 35 or 36 degrees.
Frost is looking very likely.
And then, of course, those below
freezing temperatures towards the west.
Now, I don't expect Milwaukee to reach freezing.
It would be early if we did see it.
But our average first freeze is not too far from now.
In fact, technically, it's next week.
A little later, though, for our average
first hard freeze, which is upper 20s.
That, on average, is normally early November.
But inland areas, I'd say a little ahead of schedule.
High pressure is out towards the west.
So we are expecting plenty of sunshine throughout the weekend.
In fact, we got the rain out of the way yesterday and today.
Now we have a completely dry and a completely sunny forecast through
the weekend and even much of next week.
Let's take a look at SkyVision right now.
Closer to southeast Wisconsin, you can see the wind dying down.
It is still a bit breezy right now,
but overnight it will become more 5 to 10 miles per hour.
Just know that throughout the day on Saturday,
you can see wind speeds back to 10 to about 20.
Plenty of sunshine, still a chilly day.
50s for highs on Saturday.
Now, Sunday, wind is actually going to be a bit more elevated,
maybe 15 to 25 miles per hour.
That's still not quite as bad
as what we experienced today, but it is pretty windy.
And temperatures will be a little warmer on Sunday as well.
We should be back to low 60s and then gradually climb day by day.
Now, Sunday, we've got a Packers game up at Lambeau.
Clear skies. It's a night game, 7:20.
It's going to be a little cool, too, temperatures in the 50s.
But, hey, by Green Bay standards, still great conditions for that game.
Your full six-day planner showing the sunshine over
the weekend with temperatures in the mid-50s tomorrow.
So that's going to be our cool day.
And then Sunday, you see those low 60s
and then gradually climbing from there.
In fact, by the middle of next week, upper 60s.
And next Thursday, we could even be back to 70.
Back to you guys.
Thanks, Steph.
Let's look live right now.
This is a live look in California.
At least four homes have burned down in Orange County
as strong winds have fueled wildfires in Southern California.
Look at all the firefighters out in this neighborhood.
You're seeing them, the map they're putting on there on the screen.
Yeah, there's the fires.
They're zooming in.
It's in the hills.
This is now called the Norte Fire.
It started in San Clemente.
It's just outside of Los Angeles.
So far, no injuries have been reported.
And the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
But it is burning out there.
And again, several structures have been destroyed.
It's just one of several fires burning
right now in Southern California.
Tens of thousands are without power after utility companies,
they cut the power to try and prevent any more fires.
And just one week after President Trump announced her appointment,
Katie Zacharia is out at the White House as the press secretary.
Fox's Rebecca Castor has more on what led
to her rocky short-lived stint as the president's top spokesperson.
The curtain has closed on Katie Zacharia's time
at the White House podium.
After only one lackluster briefing
and scrutiny over her legal background,
President Trump decided to give her an out.
I just said, I think you should reconsider
because I think the press is really being very unfair.
President Trump wouldn't say he's firing her,
but a senior White House official confirmed Zachariah
is transitioning out of the role.
A clear sign the president
and his advisors doubted she could recover from her bumpy start.
I'll leave it there.
Her one and only briefing Tuesday lasted 14 minutes,
and she spent most of the week clarifying her legal credentials after
the president mistakenly identified her as an attorney.
She has a law degree from Pepperdine University,
but never passed a bar exam.
Do you wish you would have disclosed to the president about the bar
and not passing the bar?
Yeah, well, Lawrence, those questions weren't asked. I'm being hired
as White House press secretary and not White House counsel.
Zachariah now holds the record
for the shortest tenure as press secretary,
but she's well-liked behind the scenes
and will likely be used elsewhere in the administration.
The press secretary role may be open, but President Trump
is squashing rumors that he's looking for a new chief of staff.
He says he couldn't be happier with Susie Wiles
and slammed Politico for claiming he's considering replacing her.
In Washington, Rebecca Castor, Fox News.
A federal investigation into one
of President Trump's biggest critics is growing.
His administration is looking into whether Minnesota
Congresswoman Ilhan Omar or her family provided false information
on immigration documents decades ago.
The Somali refugee came to the U.S. at 12 and became a citizen at 17.
The Washington Post reports similar claims were reviewed during Trump's
first term, but officials found insufficient evidence of wrongdoing.
Omar, whose D.C.'s home was recently searched,
is calling it political intimidation.
Sean Diddy Combs has been transferred
to a Pennsylvania prison after reports he smuggled in cognac, used
a contraband phone and got inmate provided massages and housekeeping.
He was placed in special housing after those reports.
Diddy has also reportedly been injured in a prison fight,
which, however, officials are denying.
His release date is now March 2028,
after he lost 41 days of good conduct credit.
It's been nearly 90 years since Amelia Earhart's plane disappeared.
And now researchers think they may have solved the mystery,
Fox's Caroline Elliott explains.
The mystery behind Amelia Earhart's missing plane could
be solved in a matter of days,
according to researchers with Purdue University.
We're still very early in the phases of our work.
Maritime guys are trolling with the side-scan sonar.
So hopefully we'll narrow in on this search
and see what's there pretty soon.
Earhart's plane disappeared over
the Central Pacific Ocean almost a century ago in 1937
as she and her navigator were attempting to become
the first people to fly around the world along the equator.
They vanished 22,000 miles into the journey,
and the wreckage has never been found.
Everyone loves a mystery, and this is one
of the great mysteries of history.
But on top of that,
she was such a striking and historic figure in her own right.
So people have been wondering, looking,
and theorizing about it ever since.
Researchers say a visual anomaly found on satellite imagery led
the team to the underwater search site.
The area is so remote, it took five days at sea just to get there.
No one's been there for many years.
Our team is approaching it very carefully and scientifically.
Among other obstacles,
researchers are running into giant crabs all over the island.
And by the way, they're carnivores when they want to be,
so I wouldn't want to encounter one.
And Purdue hopes to provide an update
on the expedition sometime this week.
and new york caroline elliott fox news it's incredible almost
a hundred years later we'll
finally have some answers hopefully yeah you just you never know
who knew there's giant crabs out
there too we're learning a lot from this expedition
All right, well finally here on Fox
Six News at nine, an unusual break-in at a California library, it
was all caught on camera. Take a look
a bear wandered in, walking past the shelves Wednesday
to the location in Mammoth Lake
the library joked that its new librarian may have
been looking for Winnie the Pooh before politely
showing itself out before staff arrived. Berenstain Bears, oh I
was gonna think, I can't think of any
other bear books. Winnie the Pooh, Berenstain Bears
um, the one where it's like Brown Bear, Brown Bear
What do you see?
I see a kitty cat looking at me.
Thanks for being with us.
On that note, we're going to get out of here,
but we've got your headlines coming up in two minutes.
