Time for a look at your weekend weather forecast.
And across southern and most of central Manitoba,
a pretty banner weekend in terms of sky conditions.
Lots of sunshine, a southerly wind making
temperatures pop up above seasonal
by almost 10 degrees in some cases,
although there is a bit of weather coming into northern Manitoba.
So things will be windy through southern Manitoba Saturday into Sunday.
There's a weak Alberta clipper, though, pushing to northern Manitoba
as we get through Sunday.
This particular forecast model indicating the potential
as we get into the early morning hours Sunday
of some mixed precipitation or some light snow.
I think temperatures will stay warm enough
that this is a majority rain event for northern Manitoba
and not much in the way of accumulation.
But there could be some wet flurries mixed into some of that
through the early morning hours Sunday.
And then we get into some clearing
and a big ridge sets in the jet stream.
And that is really going to warm temperatures up
and keep things nice and sunny as we get into next week.
So temperatures through the afternoon,
18s, 19s into western Manitoba,
16s and 17s through the Red River Valley.
These temperatures in the west,
close to 10 degrees above seasonal for this time of the year.
And looking at single digits in northern Manitoba,
9 in Thompson, 6 in Gillam.
Temperatures on the warm side again through the day on Sunday,
17 for Winnipeg, 14s and 15s for the west.
Winds will shift to more west
to northwesterly flow into the day on Sunday.
Could see some gusts up to 50 kilometers an hour
and temperatures staying warm and a mix of sun
and clouds right through the middle of next week.
