Briefs: Commissioner arrested, jail upgrades, Powerball, stuck cat

Board Commissioner is behind bars, accused of threatening to kill a family member. According to the Sheriff's Office, Kendrick Butts got into a verbal dispute last Tuesday at his Milledgeville residence. The family member told deputies Butts made threats against her life the following morning. Deputies say the family member provided them with an indoor ring security camera that captured audio of Butts admitting on a call that he threatened the relative's life. Investigators say no physical violence occurred. He was booked into the Baldwin County Jail on charges of terroristic threats and acts. The Clark County Sheriff's Office in Athens has announced new improvements to the jail after acknowledging the inmate deaths that occurred last year. During a news conference, officials revealed the enhancements, including the return of on-site video communication with inmates, a facility-wide technological upgrade, and new medical equipment. The facility will also be updating its security cameras and other safety technologies. All right, take a look at this.
