A 19-year-old Gainesville man
is behind bars accused of aggravated sexual battery
on a five-month-old baby.
And a warning that some of the details of the story may be disturbing.
Let's get out to Fox 5's Ray Arena
who reports tonight from Gainesville.
Gainesville police described this case as one
of the worst their investigators have seen
in decades and they say this five-month-old victim
is continuing to fight for their life.
It's sick. It's just downright sick.
You're looking at the mugshot of a man
who Gainesville police say allegedly sexually battered
a five-month-old family member.
This is just an individual like I would describe as a monster.
19-year-old Ulysses Aldaco faces charges of aggravated sexual battery,
aggravated stalking, and cruelty to children.
The mother believed that had observed
the child in what we would call a sick state.
Upon further investigation,
the mother noticed while changing the child's diaper
that there was a trauma Captain Kevin Holbrook says
the mother unaware of what happened rushed
the baby to Northeast Georgia Medical Center
that's where the the nurses the staff the doctors
observed the the true crime that had occurred
but not only that uh you know had observed that this
this child was was very close to death
because of this the baby has since been transferred to
another children's hospital.
Jail records show Aldaco was arrested on October 9th.
This is a child that very well could possibly still lose their life.
She asked him for money
to get to the hospital to get gas in her car
and even in custody he would not give her money
to drive to the hospital. Holbrook says
investigators helped the mother fill up her
tank so she could be with her child.
Police say they are working with the DA's office and using
forensics to see if any other crimes may have happened.
Hopefully we can get what this family
deserves and put this sick individual where he needs
to be for hopefully the rest of his life.
According to Hall County Jail Records, Aldaco remains behind bars
without bond. Reporting in Gainesville, Ray Arena, Fox 5 News.
