For anyone who's in town using one of those Airbnbs or VRBOs today,
if you're at the beach, not a great weekend.
No, not the best, Hannah.
Sounds like Orlando looking gorgeous.
It looks great. Yeah, bright blue sky.
And the beaches today, not going to be horrible.
It's just the conditions at the beach won't quite be the best.
We'll still see some sun, but we'll have to dodge some showers.
And the water, that's going to be really rough with that onshore wind
becoming strong once again.
and this disturbance offshore in the Atlantic kind
of aiding in that rainy and rough water threat there.
Here's a live look again in downtown Orlando.
No issues at this current time, but we have
been tracking some showers on our beaches already this morning.
Some heavy rain up closer to Palm Coast.
We've seen that in northern Flagler County.
We've also seen some showers closer to Cocoa Beach,
closer to Grand Valkyria this morning.
But around the Orlando Metro, we have been dry.
But our rain chances are starting to tick up ever so slightly,
and that trend going to continue through the remainder of our Saturday.
Highs today still below normal,
but notice we're reintroducing the rain chances,
especially on the coast.
Chances there a little higher, around 50% or so.
Inland only around 30%.
And if you live closer to I-75, I think you're going to be mainly dry
and a little bit brighter.
But I think we'll see even in Orlando
a few showers as we head through the evening
into the overnight some of that energy tries
to sneak a little closer to the shore which
keeps our rain chances actually a little higher through
the nighttime with temperatures not quite
as cool with more moisture in the air upper 60s around
the metro mid-60s from the villages up
toward Gainesville and Ocala now the story today
into tomorrow will be the wind increasing the wind
increasing the wind speed getting stronger
and the gusts up around 30 miles per hour
closer to Orlando, but on the coastline,
even stronger than that, around 30 to 35 miles per
hour. And that is why we have wind advisories now
that are issued through 8 a.m. tomorrow morning
up and down the eastern seaboard.
And with that strong wind, we have the high rip current risk,
big breaking waves around 5 to 15 feet,
especially the deeper you get out into the ocean. And that
is why we have a high surf advisory.
You will certainly see the red flags flying out there
on the beaches now with the strong wind we have gale warnings
also up and down the coast
and those swells there the farther you get
into the atlantic up around 10 to 15 feet wind gusts
at 35 to 40 knots or around 40 to 45 miles
per hour it's not great boating conditions either
now with this wind and being in king tide season we're approaching
our next king tide this week
we have coastal flood warnings along the intracoastal
and along the beaches for low
lying areas, flood prone spots, potentially getting inundated
with water and seeing some of that beach erosion as well.
So definitely something to think about.
If you know that you've dealt with this before and you're expecting
that flooding, just make sure you take those necessary precautions,
especially later on tonight when the wind really gets going.
Now you can see on our Fox Weather model,
some of us won't see any rain at all. These showers are spotty.
They're quick moving as we head through lunchtime today.
But notice tonight coverage a little higher as we head
post-dinner time through the wee hours of our Sunday,
but I don't think we're going to see
too many storms. Not completely impossible to get a clap of thunder
or two, but I think most of these
going to be just lighter to moderate showers
with some gusty wind at times. Same story for our
Sunday, expecting hit or miss showers mainly during the afternoon
and evening. Now, our Fox
35 Storm Team 74 forecast shows temperatures
staying right around normal, if not just a touch
below but we do climb back above average by the end
of our upcoming work week and notice our rain
chances they come down
but not completely gone right around 20% through Thursday and Friday
