Three people go to the hospital after a house party shooting.
This happened overnight in Tempe, near Southern and Rural.
And apparently police were already
on the way there for a noise complaint.
Taylor Wirtz joins us live with those details tonight.
Hi, Taylor.
Yeah, Brian, we spoke with several witnesses who were at that party
and tell us an argument between one of their friends,
someone living at the home, and someone none of them knew
escalated, ending with gunshots.
With no arrests made yet, neighbors tell us they're on edge.
Neighbors say this Tempe neighborhood off of Southern Avenue
and Rural Road has always felt safe.
There's college kids around, but it's very family oriented,
like everybody's close here.
But what happened at a house party early Saturday morning
was an alarming wake-up call.
We woke up to sirens, spotlights in our backyard.
I mean, it gets a little concerning. I have five kids,
five small children, so, you know, we're not that far away.
Lay, who was at the party, says things took a turn when someone they
didn't know started arguing with a friend who lived at the home.
The arguing happened in front.
They went outside and they just started shooting.
And we all just kind of like dropped to the floor and ducked
and tried to go in the room with the guy that was shot.
We were like calling 911 and like making sure he didn't bleed out.
Tease, who lives at the home,
says his friend group didn't know the shooters.
There was a lot of random people that shouldn't have been there,
a lot of s**t that shouldn't have happened.
Tempe police responded to the house after calls about noise
at the party turned into calls about a shooting around 4.30.
They found three people with gunshot wounds
who were taken to the hospital.
People who were at the party say the victims
are three of their friends, a woman and two men.
My friend is in the hospital right now, so praying for him.
The woman is expected to be okay,
while police say the men are in critical condition.
Their friends say at least one of the men
is still unconscious in the ICU.
A neighbor who describes herself as a sort
of mom to many young people at the party
says the idea of someone opening fire there
in her community angers her.
You don't expect stuff like this when you're going to a party.
You just want to go have a good time and live your best life.
And who thinks they're going to get shot? That's insane.
And with the shooter still out there,
all involved hope police will announce an arrest soon.
Trying to put a bunch of innocent people in harm's way over the dumbest
things, it makes no sense to me, so I hope they do get them.
