I hate to bring it up there, Craig,
but we had more of the same
when it came to the refs this weekend.
And if you watched any of that Detroit-Green Bay game,
boy, oh boy, there was when you have the players
and you have the coach
and you have the pundits and everyone going,
you've got to be kidding.
It was some of the most egregious calls
that we have seen all year long
at some of the biggest moments in the game.
Now, is that the reason why Green Bay lost?
No.
Green Bay lost because nobody can hold on to the damn ball.
And you have a kicker named Smack
who should be smacked for not actually making a 26-yard field goal
or a 40-yard field goal that could have put this game out of reach.
But it doesn't take away from the fact that Moore,
the officiating, gross.
And it was especially gross with some of those calls in that game.
But it's not, I repeat, not the reason why Green Bay lost,
which I think people lose sight of, Mesh.
Yeah, I don't know.
I feel like I watched a lot of that game,
and maybe I just missed that part.
I don't know.
Like, I saw a lot of penalties toward the end of the game
that Green Bay kept getting penalized, right?
And Detroit kept moving and moving and moving
and moving a little bit closer toward the end.
but you know the the sense i had in that game
was that uh was a couple of things first of all
green bay was my pick of the week again
and that came through so i was happy with that
but i didn't feel good at the end of the game
because i knew i got lucky first of all
Detroit goes for it on fourth down
and stupidity half the time like i mean Campbell's i can't like
i mean they're going nowhere playing like
this like like this is it's it's above me and then
the other thing is Gibbs could have easily ran in the end zone
and then Green Bay wouldn't have
covered either so it's not like i'm beating
my chest over catching three and a half in this one
but the truth was it was my my pick
but uh the way the way that i see this is exactly the same
that i saw going in which is i think green bay
is better than detroit i think detroit uh one
yeah by three i don't think detroit's very good like
if that's the best offense that the Lions
have to show at home against the Packers it's going to be an up
and down season so but my
opinion stays Joe on the Lions
is that you know nine wins nine eight Green Bay nine and eight
uh ten and seven something like that the team
that I think is the dangerous team right now
in that division are the Bears man like the Bears
to me look like the best team in division
through where we stand right now I I still believe
that but to uh to your point uh could it have been
a wider uh finish yes Detroit could have won
by more of course if Campbell just kicks a field
goal instead of going for fourth
and five Gibbs runs into the end zone which he could have done
but they kept kneeling to kick the field goal
in the end which is what you're supposed to do
so Detroit Detroit deserves to win the game yes they deserve
to win the game and yes the Packers
missed a field goal there too Butker Butker
by the way between Butker and Smack i mean my gosh
what's going on with these kickers in the NFL
a lot of guys missing field goals these days so so
yeah uh couldn't you couldn't you see it's like
let's say hypothetically i i end up being right
and chicago wins the division let's just play
that game joe doesn't this feel to you like we're
gonna get to week 17 and it's gonna be detroit
or green bay one of the two of them for the for
a spot in the playoffs or something like they're both gonna
be around the same around the same
record they kind of feel like they feel like
similar teams i will say for Green Bay's point
of view even though of course whatever he did off
the field is you know but not part of the
football discussion i'm not going to get
into that but getting Jacobs back does look like
that's going to help Green Bay, Joe.
He definitely looks better than the other running backs that they have
there, so that is a little bit of a boost.
Well, what always made him
unique was that what he can
do out of the passing game. And again,
he dropped a touchdown yesterday.
What he
brings to the table, I still think
the running aspect of it is going to take
a little while, but obviously
having another weapon like that
out of the backfield is only going to help.
But I was
more than impressed with that
defense of Green Bay they have really
and they're getting keep in mind they're getting one of the
best defensive players in the game back at some point
and already that defense they made Jamar
Gibbs work for everything and don't forget got him
to fumble a couple times there were two turnovers
there in the uh also that led to points there
for Green Bay as well 236 yards of total offense in
the first quarter between
those two teams yesterday 236 yards of offense the most in a
game this year and yet it didn't sniff
the over think about that for a minute my goodness
