So we got Detroit number one in the Eastern Conference.
The only undefeated team left is 3-0.
And the Philadelphia 76ers look really good.
Now, I did think that the Philadelphia 76ers
were going to be good with LeBron.
Yeah.
He pulled it together.
They got a great team.
They turned it off slow against Detroit.
Look at the champions.
Guys, guys, everybody here in L.A., look at the champions.
Oh, and three.
In 13th place.
Ha, ha, ha.
Elijah, if you're watching,
here's the thing about the Knicks.
I enjoyed their win last year,
but I felt that they had to play their best every game
because they're a smaller team, they're an older team.
So I don't know that they can sustain that kind of energy.
I don't think nobody has them as a repeat winner.
No analyst that I've read has them as a win.
Again, Philadelphia
and the King LeBron playing at a really good level, 3-1.
Detroit surprisingly in first place.
and they go to the Western Conference where the Rockets
and the Lakers are beating the odds, my friend.
Even on top of Oklahoma, Memphis, Minnesota, they're all perfect races.
It would be a travesty if James Harden ever got a ring.
Not that I hate James Harden.
How do we feel about beardless James Harden?
It's weird.
I'm not getting used to this new look.
I don't know where to find him on the court.
So, what's interesting is the Lakers
and the Thunder are in second and third place.
Now, the Thunder lost.
Is it the Thunder that lost to William Grigio?
Yeah.
Yeah?
Can we talk about that horrible injury?
I can't even look at it.
We decided not to play the game here
because there's no need for that level of war.
But you could see how affected the whole team was because
this is a player that is a really good player,
but also that has been struggling with injuries all of last season.
and a lot of hamstring issues, a lot of extended bouts on the yard.
But I'm wondering, maybe it's just me,
but does it seem like the athletes are getting injured more often?
Without a doubt.
I think that the level of competition is higher,
but I think that as a sports parent myself,
I can tell you that I've seen this.
I started working out as a swimmer when I was seven years old.
But swimming is a type of sport that is very gentle on your joints.
right there's no impact
when you see that kids as young as three four five years old they're
getting multiple hours a week of practice
by the time that they get to 20 25 30 they were
they weren't doing very big
so these athletes they already come with the longest load in history
modern athletes have been doing more exercise
and working out for longer than at any previous time
So it's not surprising to me. Now, there's a lot of data,
there's a lot of science behind injury prevention, but also
the business of the players is so relentless that the pressure that
these players feel to come back as quick as possible from an injury,
to be in the fold, sometimes it rushes things and creates worse.
But this one, to be honest, it was just a freak accident.
He went up almost at the end of the game.
Terrible, reckless foul on him, and then he just landed on me.
Yeah, so I saw my TV playing basketball when I was 29.
I remember landing.
I wasn't quite sure what happened.
I thought somebody hit me in the back of the ankle.
And the guy that was nearest to me, who was about 10 feet away,
says, no, I heard that.
I walked myself to my car with my foot flopping.
A year later, I was back in the basketball court.
You know, injuries come with the territory.
