Election day is one week away and candidates are making
their final push for votes from a new court ruling
in the governor's race to President Trump heading back to Texas.
There's a lot happening on the campaign trail.
Good day, Austin.
Juliana Jackson joins us live with the latest on these top races.
Morning, Juliana.
Good morning, Antiana and Dave.
Yeah, in this final stretch, both parties are working to make sure
that they are getting as many voters as they can to the polls.
We're going to start off breaking down a little bit
of what's going on in the governor's race,
especially with the recent lawsuit filed
by Democrat Gina Hinojosa against Governor Greg Abbott and Elon Musk.
On Monday, a Travis County judge ruled that Abbott must allow Hinojosa
to review more than 1,000 pages of unredacted conversations with Elon.
Hinojosa says she wants more transparency about
their relationship, raising questions
about Elon's campaign donations and business with the state.
Abbott's office is pushing back,
likely appealing that ruling and calling her legal action politically
unmotivated.
He denied these, saying they were, quote, intimate and embarrassing.
I think what's embarrassing is that Greg Abbott has sold us out.
We know he redirected a $100 million broadband contract to Elon Musk
shortly after Elon Musk gave him a half
a million dollars to his campaign.
Are you ready to keep Texas red?
Are you going to vote Republican from the top of the ballot
all the way to the bottom of the ballot?
And if you do so, we are going to keep Texas, Texas.
Abbott was in Wichita Falls on Monday campaigning alongside
Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton,
encouraging voters to support Republicans up and down the ballot.
On the Democratic side, Senate candidate
James Tallarico was in El Paso Monday
criticizing Paxton's record and making his case to voters.
Early voting continues through this Friday.
Meanwhile, President Trump is making two more stops in Texas.
The first one is this afternoon in Corpus Christi,
and then later tonight he will be in Lubbock.
Reporting live downtown, Juliana Jackson, back to you.
