How about the OKC game?
I don't know if you saw the injury to Williams.
I'm sure you did, right?
That was devastating.
Ooh, that was just nasty looking, right?
There's been some buzz that they may inquire about Russell Westbrook
coming out of retirement.
Knowing the case and the injury as well,
are we eliminating them
from realistically being NBA championship contenders?
Still good, still make the playoffs,
but can they really compete for a championship without those two guys?
It'll be very tough to do that.
And I know we saw it last year in the NBA playoffs
and people sometimes forget that
they were one win away from the finals,
despite injuries to Jalen Williams and AJ Mitchell,
who stepped up and against the Phoenix Suns had
a career high 30 points last night.
They're fortunate that they do have depth at the guard position.
They're missing an all defensive level player
to all defensive level players and Jalen Williams
and Cason Wallace and Jalen Williams
also being an all NBA level player and all-star
level player.
that's nearly impossible to replicate
but you do have Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who depending on who you
ask is the best player in the world you have Jerry McCain
who they got in that trade last year AJ
Mitchell they drafted Bennettts Sturts from Iowa he's a guy
who's going to be looking to step up
as well can Chet Holmgren step up
and play a bigger role it'll be very tough for them they'll
have a very thin margin for error I still think they can win 50 games
but as far as being a title
favorite, it's going to be hard without those guys.
