Carolina Panthers' Loss Raises Doubts After DC Firing

Lots going on after last night's loss there for Carolina.
They fired their defensive coordinator,
which is crazy because I know the defense coordinator
was the guy that fumbled four times the week prior against Tampa,
which David Tepper, as
far as I'm concerned.
He's one of those guys, and you know these owners,
Greg, these franchise owners.
Tepper is not a guy with a reputation.
He's got short on patience.
He's got a quick trigger.
He's fun.
I don't know that I can look at Carolina,
who lost their two defensive ends,
their two studs to preseason injuries.
They had nobody in the segment.
I can somehow look at that game last night and think,
The defense is the problem
and not the fact that your offensive line and offense couldn't
get anything going and couldn't protect your franchise quarterback.
That's just me.
But I think that tells you that, yeah,
there's somebody is already taking the fall in the
Carolina organization.
And there's still what, three and four?
Aren't they still tied for the lead in that division?
Like, what are we doing?
I think they're over 500.
Are they four?
I don't think they're three and four.
Aren't they four and three?
I thought they were.
Maybe I'm wrong about that.
They lost to the Bears.
But they're still first in the division, right?
I mean, what's left?
Yeah, and by the way, Hubbard had a really good game last night.
He had all those attempts.
He scored a touchdown.
I mean, that was good, unfortunately.
And the under hand.
And Green Bay went over the team total right at the end there.
That was a bummer.
Yes.
So Carolina, as we sit at – oh, they are 3-4.
Wow, gosh, I didn't even realize that.
So Carolina is...
Is one of those teams where it's like I, you know,
like like talking about where sometimes you have to just pivot
and and wonder if the analysis was wrong.
I have to wonder if my analysis was wrong on Carolina.
I mean, a couple of weeks ago, I thought.
Like, this is going to be the best team in the division.
I don't think it's going to be particularly close.
And look, I keep it real, as always here, and transparent with it.
So I think I may be wrong.
I think I may have gotten Carolina wrong.
I'm surprised I'm getting it wrong.
I really thought that when they rolled off a few wins,
and I guess they are 3-4, you're right, and they were 3-2,
and I thought, okay, well, all they got to do is be...
You know, 10 and 7, you know,
and or 9 and 8 and probably be good enough to win the division.
And I don't even know that they're going to be able to do that.
I'm not sure what to make anymore of the Panthers.
And now all of a sudden I'm thinking, OK, maybe Atlanta is better.
Maybe Tampa Bay didn't bury themselves.
You know, maybe Tampa Bay still sort of alive in this thing.
So very disappointing, Joe.
Very, very disappointing.
Now, they could have lost last night.
No big deal.
But they lost that game.
It felt like the first 10 minutes of the game, the game was over.
It felt like it was done.
Like, Golden was, like, Watson went nuts.
Then they took him out, and then Golden went nuts.
So I got to say that I still think this division is going to be won
with nine wins at the most, but I can't say for sure
that it's going to be the Panthers anymore, Joe.
I can't do that.
I got to start walking back some of the things
that I've been saying about them.
