Fear and Gibson lead at Skate Canada after rhythm dance program
Nov 1, 2026
So one team to go and here they are,
the British champions,
bronze medalists in Europeans for the
last three years, bronze medalists in the world championships in 2025.
This is Lila Fier and Lewis
Gibson.
Flamenco
You
can
see
as
they
finish
the
routine
there,
there
wasn't
much
in
it,
but
I
can
tell
you
there isn't going to be too much reviewed by the technical panel.
They are going to be knocking on the door of 80 points,
I think, with that performance.
It was a mighty fine skate.
I've got to say, when I look at the footwork of these two
and comparing it to the French team,
I'm not sure that it was as tidy and accurate as the French team,
but the presentation,
the levels that they got for everything, really top-notch.
It's a beautiful music.
With only five and a half years of real existence.
No, but I don't know if it is.
So, Lila and Lewis will certainly
be looking at the scores achieved last week.
And they'll want to be high 70s.
Could they possibly get into the 80s with that performance?
Would be great.
Remember, Laurence Fournier-Boudry and Guillaume Cizeron,
the Olympic champions, got 82.56 for their rhythm dance.
They didn't put a foot wrong, did they?
She got a three on the twizzles.
He got a four.
Golden Wolf's was a two.
And they got a couple of the key points there.
But where they're benefiting all the time is the GOEs.
They are huge.
Over three points, the GOE on the Twizzles.
Yeah, not necessarily the levels any higher than anybody else,
but the GOE is exceptional.
So 77.91 they need or more to take the lead here.
And they've done it.
81.37, that will do.
That is not far off the mark set
by the Olympic champions last weekend in Angers.
They will be thrilled with that.
What a great start to their Grand Prix campaign here in Kelowna.
