Over the course of the past two weeks that I've been here,
I really have heard a mix from voters,
people who are Democrats for Hamilton,
Republicans for Hamilton, Republicans for Marshall, who
can't trust a candidate on a Democratic ticket.
Now, we're going to find out if Adam Hamilton
can break a nearly 100-year losing streak for the Democratic Party.
Dems have not elected,
J-Dub.
Kansas has not elected a Democrat to the Senate since 1932.
But what we know from the course of
The campaign, it has gone from likely red to leaning red,
and the last Fox News power
ranking showing the state as a toss-up.
Over the course of this campaign,
we've seen a big name Republicans coming to Kansas to
boost Senator Marshall, including Texas Senator Ted Cruz.
And from the White House,
both President Trump and Vice President Vance visited the state
twice.
Trump and Marshall sharing the stage on Sunday from Salina,
Kansas, in a final pitch to voters.
Not just choosing a senator,
you're deciding whether your kids and grandkids grow up in
Chuck Schumer's woke, radical America or in the Kansas that we love.
Whether you're from Salina or I was raised in El Dorado,
lived in Great Bend now for
25 years, let's let Washington know where we're from.
Meanwhile, Democrat Adam Hamilton spent the last week
and a half on a bus tour across
Kansas, reaching out to some of the state's most rural voters,
Hamilton Slotkin pleading
from the middle, and calling himself an independent-minded Democrat
who will put his constituents before
party politics.
It's all part of an effort
to peel away enough Republican voters in a state Trump easily
won three times.
How many Republicans have come to my events and said,
you've got my vote, you stand for what I stand for,
and I'm very grateful for that.
I'm grateful for the Republicans, Independents,
and Democrats who are supporting me and who are saying,
we've got to do better in Washington.
We're going to send you as a message
to D.C. that in reliably red Kansas, D.C. has to do better.
Ahead of Election Day,
around half a million people cast their ballots early.
Whoever wins here will join Republican Senator Jerry Moran in D.C.
Back to you.
Oh, I mean, any indication,
just that we've been asking everybody what the pre-polling
numbers look like, any indication which way it can go?
I know so far it's been, you know, seeming like any which way.
Well, I have spoken to a political scientist
in the past about what we can glean from early
voting, and he said not much.
He said that even if you see one side going to the polls early,
that it doesn't say who's going to show up on election day.
And as much as we want to be able to
guess or predict what can happen because of early voting,
he said the evidence just isn't there.
Okay. All right. Well, thank you for sharing with us what's going
on out in Kansas. That's one of many races that we've been keeping
our eyes on here in Pennsylvania. So we'll let you go
and get ready for election night as things just will keep ramping up.
Again, I heard the music earlier, so I can only imagine
when people start pouring in what that scene is going to look like.
