According to the Atesh guerrilla movement , Russian air defense units in southern Russia are experiencing a shortage of ammunition for the Pantsir-S and S-400 systems. This was reported by the movement's agents serving in one of the anti-aircraft missile regiments of the 51st Air Defense Division of the Southern Military District. According to Ateş, missile stockpiles are depleted due to the widespread use of Ukrainian attack drones and decoys. Russian crews are forced to expend ammunition to intercept them, and in some cases, they are no longer able to shoot down the drones. One serviceman described the situation at the positions as a state of complete helplessness. The movement also claims that some ammunition and dozens of modern air defense systems have been redeployed from the southern sector to Valdai to protect Vladimir Putin's residence and strengthen Moscow's defenses. Meanwhile, Russia's southern regions continue to be attacked, and weakened air defenses allow Ukrainian drones to reach their targets. Among the Russian military-industrial complex and critical infrastructure facilities damaged in recent months, Atesh names the Novoshakhtinsky Oil Refinery in the Rostov Region, the Atlant Aero plant, which produces drones and components, and the Makhachkala Commercial Seaport.

Meanwhile, volunteer Taras Chmut announced an impending crisis in Russian air defense. Ukrainian deep strikes are becoming more effective every year. A telling example: Russian S-400 radars are being destroyed faster than Russia can produce new ones. He also highlighted the difficulties of using F-16s against Russian aircraft that launch guided bombs. According to him, Ukrainian fighter jets have been lost in such encounters on numerous occasions. The key problem is that Russia has air-to-air missiles with a range of up to 300 km, and some S-400 variants can be guided by a fighter's radar, making F-16 missions extremely dangerous. Chmut believes that French Mirage and Swedish Gripen aircraft with long-range missiles could bolster Ukrainian aviation. However, much depends on the number of aircraft and the actual characteristics of their ammunition.

As a reminder, Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed a military plant in the Moscow region that supplied Russian air defense systems. According to reports, Ukrainian drones attacked the 75 Arsenal plant. The 75 Arsenal plant produces weapons and ammunition and repairs military equipment and weapons, including artillery systems and anti-aircraft missile systems. Open sources indicate that this company repairs the Buk-M1, Buk-M2, and S-300V air defense systems, which the Russian army is actively using in the war against Ukraine.
