Day In The Life of a Salmon Fishing Guide! (BOBBER DOWN KING SALMON)

Oh yeah that's a fish. Oh that's a bigger one. Yo what's going on guys Chiefs here and right now I'll be curing up some bait because I got a trip tomorrow and I'm gonna actually try recording a video this time out. I've never recorded a video on a guided fishing trip so I got two young kids tomorrow. I got Luke and his buddy Brody. They're coming out to try and catch their first ever river king salmon. I'm gonna call right now just to make sure that they'd be down for this video but I'd like to basically record a day in the life of a fishing guide video. An amateur fishing guide. So yeah I'm gonna hit up Luke right now. I'm gonna see if he's down to make this video. I'm sorry guys. Yo what's up man? I got a couple dates left in October but it's filling up fast. So get at me if you guys want to catch some steelhead. It's time that we cure up some bait baby. Let's get it man. We got some perfect freaking skeins right here too. I'll be honest guys and when it comes to like salmon and stuff I really don't get too crazy with my cure. It's very simple. I'm just going to be using some of this fire cure from right here. I'm going to do a couple different cures on a few of these but in general I'd like to just run this fire cure. They like a sulfate cure. Sodium sulfate for some reason. Salmon prefer that over just regular borax cures like borax will fire. But borax fire can be nice to stiffen up your eggs and it does add a little bit of a krill scent to it too. So sometimes I'll just run a little bit of fire cure. Let it bleed out and do its thing and then I'll follow it up and after the juice is reabsorbed I'll add just a touch of borax will fire and not a whole lot because I like to just run straight borax. So I'll just use like 20 mule and I'll throw this in with the gallon ziplock bag that I'm going to put these skeins in after I'm done. So I'm going to apply the cure right now. Like I said I'm going to do a couple different cures across all these. I may get a little weird. Throw a little this stuff on there. That fire dye. I swear to god I'm catching fish with fire dye in my skein. We're going to try some of this stuff out. We got our pinks. We've got our oranges. We've got our reds. We've got our like deep red the rogue color or whatever red rouge and we're going to run it all. So all right guys so I just got done butterflying the skeins which basically means pulling them apart and opening them up as wide as possible. This is so that I can cover as many eggs with the cure as possible. Let's sit on the paper towel for a second. We have got plenty of mature skeins here. Thankfully because of other fishermen I was able to harvest these and not have to kill fish myself. All right guys we've been going for a little while now. Like I said these eggs are going to bleed so if you look in there there's some moisture now. I added yeah sorry I probably should have mentioned that. I added four of the identical skeins to some Tupperware right here and that's just usually this is the Tupperware I used to just transport all my cure around and stuff like that. I just like to keep it all together because I got to cure a lot on the go. But yeah I put four I put four of the skeins in there but you can see how it's bleeding out. You can see the color. I also added a couple of the a couple drops of the fire dye over there but we're going to let this bleed out overnight and what's going to happen is I'm going to make a conscious effort to rotate this around a little bit but I'm going to seal it off just like this and we're going to throw it in the fridge overnight and what it's going to do is it's going to reabsorb all that beautiful cure. All right guys it's time to hit the road let's get it. Look at this UV freaking braid. If you guys want I can give you some but well I guess if we oh oh oh set that set that set that yeah dude yeah reel in dude yeah I was looking at loops brody hooked up here oh yeah nice fish dude heck yeah that's a quality one man nice buck super clean right on all right let him ride broncos or broncos country let's ride all right there he goes he's out let's go bro broncos country let's ride oh that was a fish dude that's a fishy spot right there open your bail yep fish oh yeah that's a fish oh that's a bigger one all right luke what do we got here bro first ever river king first one of the day yes sir first one ever been searching in this high water a little bit but we got a nice quality hen there oh dude that's a great fish man first ever river king freaking clean man congrats on the skein float too dude all right you want to give her a good release here she should go pretty good it is high dirty water and she is out let's go bro oh yeah yep there you go good job yep yep yep yep yep yep a little bigger how we doing he ain't ready yet sweet dude i think she'll release all right all right let's see it little upgrade dude yes sir little upgrade here freaking stud fish man hens are friends that's a beautiful fish man wow let's see here yeah you're pushing that 20 class right there man absolutely all right let her ride broncos oh yeah dude let's go all right guys i'm saying my farewells to brody and freaking luke man we weathered the storm has been blowing 32 mile an hour northwestern winds and uh been pouring rain all freaking day but we got the job done they got their first ever river kings turned out to be a pretty good trip we got a lot of opportunities a lot of missed opportunities and uh we landed a good handful in and uh you guys want to see more videos like this let me know they're leaving man how was it dude it was great first first river king for both of you guys right no sick you guys got some pretty fresh fish it was a solid trip for sure man but um yeah this is the uh the first ever day in the life of an amateur guide video i got so we'll see how it uh see how it goes if you guys like it man freaking leave the freaking thumbs up what you gotta say anything book a trip yeah all right yeah book a trip yeah yeah we'll probably see these guys again another like video for like steelhead or something but uh gonna wrap it up there
