What's wrong?
What can I do to help you?
I don't know.
Hey guys, happy Thursday.
Is it a happy Thursday?
Yeah.
Yeah?
I'm not sure.
I actually just got a call from the school.
First of all, the weather is super rainy, cloudy, windy.
I'm pulling out the sweatshirts.
It feels like winter.
It is sprinkling.
It's supposed to get down to 52 degrees today.
So, it's been kind of cold and chilly.
I just got a call from the school that Halle has pink eye.
Which is weird because...
Which is weird because this morning there were no signs of pink eye.
But she said that her teacher sent her up and she said that her eyes were hurting and burning.
She's watched her for about 30 minutes and she has some gunk in them.
So, not fun the day before school gets out.
But, what do you do?
I am loading up the girls to go and grab Halle from school.
Marcus is going to call in a prescription so that she doesn't pass it on to anyone else, I hope.
And we'll just go from there.
So, I'll take you along with us.
So, you guys, when I got the call, I was finishing my makeup and I was starting to blow dry my hair.
But I got around and get her.
So, my hair is just in a wet hair.
Don't care.
But look, it is raining.
It's starting to rain and sprinkle out here.
So, it's probably a good thing I didn't have time to do my hair.
It's just going to get wet.
So, it's supposed to rain a lot more as the day goes on.
So, we'll see if that happens.
Just weird weather for me.
Let me see, Halle.
So, I just picked up Halle.
Her eyes do look really irritated.
Come here.
So, there's a little bit of gunk in that one.
They're all red and irritated.
So, she said that they started hurting last night.
But she didn't say anything this morning, huh?
So, we got to keep our hands washed and not touch Libby or Stella, okay?
Because they're very contagious.
And we'll get dad to call you in some drops.
Okay?
Are they itching?
Okay, try not to itch them with your fingers.
Just itch them with that tissue, okay?
So, what better thing to do when you're sick than get McDonald's, right?
On this cold rainy day.
I didn't have time to feed Libby before we left.
And so, she's really hungry.
So, I want to show you guys something super cool.
So, if you download the McDonald's app, there's a bunch of deals on here.
And on Wednesdays, if it'll focus, it's buy one happy meal, get one free.
On Wednesdays.
So, I figured, perfect day.
Halle didn't get to finish her lunch because her teacher made her throw the rest away and go to the health office.
So, buy one, get one free on Wednesdays through the McDonald's app.
There's some good deals.
Alright, so we just got home.
Halle just washed her hands.
They're really red.
I wonder if it's an allergy to something.
I don't know if it's pink eye.
We're waiting to hear back from dad to see what he thinks it is.
But Halle needs some rest.
So, do you want to go take a hot shower so you're just all fresh and clean?
Yeah.
So, I can definitely tell that Halle does not feel good.
She's upstairs taking a nice hot shower.
I'm going to try to get her to take a little nap.
Just because she said she didn't sleep good last night because her eyes were hurting.
But seriously, this morning when I saw her, I could not tell that her eyes were red at all.
And she didn't say a word.
So, I wonder if she's got something in them or she touched something that irritated them.
Because it's really not the eyeball that's pink.
Marcos wants me to give her some Benadryl Claritin first because he doesn't think it's pink eye either.
And we'll just go from there.
Alright, you guys.
So, Libby, Stella, and Halle are all sleeping right now.
Well, Halle's reading books.
But, they're sleeping right now.
I'm going to start dinner per everyone's request to show you what I'm making.
It's called Sesame Honey Chicken.
And it's a crock pot recipe with just a little bit of prep before.
So, I'm going to do that right now and show you what I do.
Here are the ingredients that we need to mix together to make the sauce to put on top of the chicken.
Onion powder.
Sriracha sauce.
Some soy sauce.
Rice vinegar.
I just have two here because this one's almost gone.
Tomato paste.
And some honey.
So, first I put chicken breasts in the crock pot and I did four chicken breasts.
It says for two pounds.
So, I did four breasts.
And I'm just going to season them with black pepper.
Alright, so we need a third cup of soy sauce.
Now, I'm doubling the sauce because I doubled the chicken breasts and we like a lot of sauce.
Next, we need a half cup of honey.
It calls for a fourth of a cup, but again, I'm doubling the sauce.
Half a cup of tomato paste, which is about one of these little cans.
Next is six tablespoons of rice wine vinegar.
This is two, so I'm going to do two more.
I forgot to show a main ingredient.
Minced garlic.
And we need two teaspoons.
And then two tablespoons of water.
Two teaspoons of onion powder.
Two teaspoons of the Sriracha hot chili sauce.
I'm not quite doing a full second teaspoon just because I don't want it to be too hot for the kiddos.
Okay, next I'm going to stir this up and pour it over the chicken.
Alright, then you cook the chicken on low for three to four hours.
I'm just going to do three hours because I got it in a little bit later.
My chicken was fully thawed and my crock pot cooks a little bit more on the faster side.
So we're going to do three hours and then remove the chicken, shred it, boil the sauce,
put the chicken back in the crock pot and serve it over rice, which I'll show you every step of the way.
How are you feeling, Hallie?
Good.
Let me see your eyes.
They look a little bit better.
Dad's coming home with some drops right now to help get the goop out.
Did you have a good nap?
We just took a little nap.
Yeah, just a little nap. You need that rest, huh?
I do too.
Do you want to go lay in your bed?
Uh-uh.
When's Dad coming home?
He's almost here.
Is that helping?
A little bit.
She's putting a cold rag on her eyes because she said her eyes are burning.
Look who's here to save the day.
How am I saving the day?
Did you bring those drops?
I did.
Okay, let's do them.
Okay, let's do it.
Dad's got the magic drugs. Prescription drops, is that what they are?
That's right, they are prescription strength eye drops for this very thing, pink eye.
Okay, how long does it take for them to start working?
It starts to feel relief within the first day, but she has to continue taking them for seven full days.
Oh, really?
Hey, Hallie.
Is it hard to see?
Or is it just itchy?
Well, are you ready for some drops?
Here, let me get a glove on so I'm going to touch near your eye.
Should we have her lay on the ground?
Yeah.
Okay, come lay on the ground.
Like once a day we put the drops in?
For the first two days, we have to put them in every two to four hours, so very often.
I'm going to put a drop at the very inside of your eye, and then we'll let it roll into the eye.
It's okay, Hallie.
Yeah, it'll be fine.
It's just like water.
It itches.
Yeah, yeah.
See, I already see another like booger coming out right there, and I just cleaned out both of her eyes.
Did you already ask like where she got this from? Anyone else at school have this?
No.
Are you ready?
Ready?
Okay, just relax, okay?
I'm going to open, I'm going to keep your eye open, okay?
Actually, let's do this eye first.
Okay.
Good job.
That's good.
It's just like water.
Just move your eye around inside your eye.
It's okay, Hallie.
Does it hurt?
It just feels weird.
It's just like water.
It's okay.
They're going to help your eyes feel better.
Here, move your eye around.
Left to right.
Up and down.
Yep, just like that.
There you go.
Just like that.
I can't do it anymore.
It's fine.
You're doing it.
It's okay.
It'll dry out.
We have to do the other eye though.
These will help you feel better so that they won't burn, okay?
You've got to get them in.
It's just like water.
It's like if you get water in your eyes when you're swimming, okay?
Okay, let's do the other eye and then you can just like watch a movie or something.
It's okay.
Move it around.
Put it back and forth.
Back and forth.
Blink.
So we did it.
Let's see.
What time is it?
Quarter to six.
So we'll do it again before bed, okay?
Are you moving them around?
Just kind of blink your eyes and move it back and forth.
You're okay.
You did good.
Yeah, you did good.
It's just like water in your eyes.
Do you want this cold rag back on them?
Don't rub them.
Okay.
Does that feel good?
Okay, just relax right here.
Very contagious so we just got to keep you away from Stella and Libby.
What's wrong?
I want to go to school on the last day.
I don't want to be sick.
It's okay.
What are you missing tomorrow?
Because we're going to do fun things there on the last day.
What are they doing on the last day?
I don't know yet.
The teacher didn't tell me.
Well, it's just a couple hours.
We can do our own fun things when you're feeling good, okay?
You just can't.
I don't think you can go because it's very contagious.
So they will send you home even if I did let you go.
Okay.
We'll see how you are in the morning though.
If all the goop is gone, maybe you can go.
We'll have to ask dad how long the drops take to work.
Usually it's a day.
So maybe if you're not goopy in the morning, maybe tomorrow night we can go do something fun.
Okay?
We'll do something fun.
It's okay.
Is this helping?
I can't open my eyes yet.
Do you want this back on?
Ty, we will get her a blanket.
What's wrong?
I told you why.
It's okay though.
You can't help when you get sick sometimes.
At least you're sick now and not next week right before we go to Albania, right?
So it's okay.
It's just two or three hours tomorrow at school.
So you're not gonna miss anything.
I think they're just doing yearbook stuff.
They're just watching a movie.
So maybe we can go get a red box tomorrow and you can just watch a movie here with me.
Okay?
It's okay though.
Are your eyes feeling a little bit better?
Do you want that rag off or does it help?
It helps.
Once you're feeling better you can just put on a movie, okay?
Just relax.
Are you in pain?
It really scared me when you did the eye drops.
It's just like water.
It's just some medicine, okay?
Why did it scare you?
Well nothing's gonna happen, okay?
It's just like water that you get in your eyes when you go swimming.
Okay?
But it has a little bit of medicine in it so that your eyes stop creating those eye boogers
and they stop burning, okay?
And they stop itching.
So those eye drops are really gonna help.
They're not scary, okay?
It's just like a little drop of water.
Just like if you're going swimming and you get a little bit of water in your eyes, okay?
Do you want the rag off?
Just rest here for a little bit, okay?
Do you want me to get you a pillow?
No.
What you got there?
That was nice.
The thing is she can't open her eyes though.
You're gonna read the movies to her?
She's just gonna rest for a little bit and when she feels like her eyes feel better she
can watch a movie, okay?
Are you warm enough?
Are you hot?
Do you need anything else?
Just some rest?
Alright, you guys.
So I got dinner going.
So I took the chicken breasts out right here and I have the sauce right here.
Oh, Hallie.
You feeling a little bit better?
What's wrong?
What can I do to help you?
Do you want to just go lay down in bed?
What would you like to do?
You don't know?
Are your eyes feeling a little bit better?
Okay.
Did that rag help?
Yeah.
Okay.
What would you like?
I don't know.
Think about it.
Okay.
Do you want to go watch a movie?
Mm-hmm.
Do you want to pick one of the ones Ty's picked out for you?
Mm-hmm.
Which one do you want?
I don't know yet.
Okay.
Why don't you go pick one out?
Here, come here.
Let's wipe all the goop.
Just gonna wash your hands real quick so we don't spread the germs, okay?
All right, guys.
So sad.
Just hurts my little mom heart to see my kid sick, and there's not much I can do for her,
so she's just gonna put on a movie, kind of take it easy, rest.
We put the drops in.
You have to put them in every two to four hours, so there's really not much more we
can do at this point, so I'm gonna finish up dinner and just kind of show you the rest
of that, and then we'll just keep going throughout the night, and hopefully Hallie starts feeling
a little bit better.
Okay, so here's all the sauce, and then here's all the chicken.
So I'm gonna shred this right now, and then I turn the Crock-Pot to high now instead of
low, and then I'm gonna combine a tablespoon of cornstarch and a fourth a cup of water.
I'm gonna mix together, and then I'm gonna put back in the Crock-Pot with the sauce to
thicken it up, bring it to a boil, and then put the chicken back in.
I just added the cornstarch to the sauce.
Sorry, my voice.
And now I'm just mixing it, and this is on high right now, so it's gonna come to a boil
to thicken, and then I'll put the chicken back in.
All right, so then I covered the Crock-Pot.
It's on high.
The cornstarch is mixed in, and then this just has to thicken in 15 to 20 minutes.
It says 30, but my Crock-Pot only does minutes by 30, so I'm gonna shred the chicken and
then put it back in when this comes to a boil.
All right, so I got all four chicken breasts shredded, and this chicken tastes yummy.
The sauce is still coming to a boil in there, and little Stella wanted a little appetizer,
so I cut up these little pieces for her.
Say more.
More.
Please.
She's loving just the chicken, and it's not too hot because it's just barely coated with
that sauce.
Bad news.
Should I tell everyone?
Well, yeah.
I lost my wedding band.
Mm-hmm.
He doesn't want to be married anymore.
My ring.
I lost after 10 years.
Yeah, 10 and a half.
Actually, I'm gonna go try to find it.
I think I know where it's at.
I just...
He dropped it in the gym parking lot, you guys.
Do you really think he's gonna find it?
I know where I parked so I can go track down my steps.
I don't think it's truly lost.
We can't say it's truly lost yet because I think I know where it's at.
I'm gonna go back and see if I can find it.
It's probably on the pavement somewhere in the parking lot.
I know exactly where I parked.
Still have a whole mouthful.
Say please.
Please.
Say please.
No.
Please.
All right, Stella's still enjoying her chicken, and the sauce is boiling a little bit now,
so I'm just gonna pour the shredded chicken back in the crock pot, stir it around.
We've got rice ready in the rice cooker.
I'm gonna heat up some asparagus, cut up some strawberries, and we will be ready to eat.
Marco's headed back to the gym to see if he can find his rings, so we'll see if he has any luck.
Looks so good.
See, I'm really glad that I doubled the sauce just because I don't like dry chicken,
and it's just gonna be the perfect amount.
All right, how is it, Ty?
Good.
Really good?
Libby, did you try it?
I can't describe it.
Let me see you try the chicken.
I just got one bite.
Look who's back.
So, I went to go try to find a ring, right?
The wedding band that I lost.
Ready to see if I found it?
Yes.
You're gonna find it.
What's that?
I don't think you found it.
Drum roll, please.
You did find it.
No ring.
It's on the other side.
What?
It's on the other side.
Oh, wow.
Using her noggin.
Boom, boom.
Look at that.
So, yes, I found my ring.
I looked all around the parking spot where I parked, and I could not find it.
I was looking on the streets, the curbs.
I could not find it.
I was looking for something shiny.
I got out of the car and looked around, walked around.
People probably thought I was an idiot.
But, before I got back in the van, I decided to go inside the gym and ask if there was a lost and found.
And, lo and behold, they had the wedding ring in the lost and found box.
I can't believe it.
I almost didn't even go in and ask.
So, here it is.
Ten and a half years in the making, and I'm going to keep it for another ten years.
All right, guys.
Closing out the vlog.
Halle's feeling a little bit better, right?
Mm-hmm.
You guys look a little bit better.
We did the drops again.
She survived, right?
And it's a lot blurry.
A lot blurry, yeah.
So, she's going to get some good rest and wake up feeling so much better, huh?
I'm crunchy.
In the middle of the day tomorrow, I might feel a little better.
Yeah, I bet you'll feel great tomorrow night, especially, because that will be 24 hours with those drops.
Okay.
Closing out the vlog.
Like, subscribe, and don't forget to ring the bell.
Bye.
Bye, guys.
Bye.
I hope you don't get sick like me.
Yeah.
Her eyes are all puffy.
Oh, poor baby.
She's feeling better, right?
Okay.
Last day of school tomorrow.
School day.
Yeah.
Hallie had her last day today, but we'll still celebrate tomorrow, because it's technically
the last day.
But we'll see how you're feeling tomorrow.
You might be just fine.
Let's hope and pray for the best.
Thanks for watching.
We'll see you next time.
And don't forget to ring the bell.
Bye.
