Qatar Airways A380 First Class Review - FINALLY!!!

It's been a long time since I was this excited for a flight like I'm literally just... Okay here we go. How many months is it? Eight months since I was supposed to fly Qatar first class and there was the infamous equipment change. The time has finally come and I was supposed to surprise Oscar but it kind of failed because I had a Freudian slip I guess you'd say and I accidentally revealed we were doing it when I was talking to someone else. But yeah this is Qatar A380 first class to Frankfurt. I paid with miles. I'm going to tell you more about that later but such a fantastic deal. Here's the A380. Let's do it. Let's start with the good news. The good news is that we're the only passengers in first class. Us two. That's also the bad news since it means we will get completely perfect service since I'm not sure what it would be like if all eight seats were taken. But today it's just us. So are you ready to have a look around the seat and the cabin? Let's do this. So Oscar's all settled in into his seat enjoying himself. And here is my seat that I chose just for the window view. 2k and here you can see the whole cabin. I cannot believe we are alone in here. This is so insane. Okay, so starting at the front here, we actually have a little bit of a snack bar. We have glasses. We have some other snacks. We have drinks. We have magazines. And here are the seats. So let's go back to my seat. So we are starting the flight with lemon mint cold towel with rose scent. So let's have a look around the things that I've received so far. We have lemon mint, which is one of my favorite drinks in the whole world. Guitar signature drink. We have dates and Arabic coffee. If you've been following me for a while, you know that I am obsessed with Arabic coffee and dates as well. So much nice stuff. The amenity kit. This is one of the most beautiful amenity kits I've seen in my life. It's fake leather, I think, which makes me so happy that it's not real. So why did I move to 2a you ask? Well, because I think there will be a very nice view of Doha on departure. You always want to sit on the left when you're departing Doha. So the amenity kit. Let's have a look at the contents. Okay, let's go. Eye mask. Socks. Glass case, I think. Earbuds. Toiletries. So what's inside? Lip balm. Facial mist. Moisturizer. Another moisturizer. He's just, when I came out of the bathroom, he was lying like this. Just like, ah. So cute, I love. I mean, if you have to do gratitude exercises at any point in your life, this would be the time. Okay, we made it to the E380 onboard bar. Here we have some fruit. Snacks. Fresh snacks to eat. Here is the E380. So Qatar Airways First Class customers also get four hours of free Wi-Fi. You get this coupon for three hours, and then you get an additional free hour which everyone on board gets. So four hours total. So let's go online. We have our two beds made right here. Since we're the only passengers, we don't need the privacy partitions. We're just good chilling here in my bed. As you can see, there's unlimited space by the feet here. There's a mattress cover. There's two pillows. And wow, it is so wide. So let me get in. Oh my god. This is honestly more comfortable than my bed at home, 100%. So I don't know if you guys watch Friends, but there's this episode where Ross and Chandler and everyone goes to a hotel. And Ross is like taking everything from the hotel that he can get for free. I'm not quite that bad. But when I fly first class, I showed you guys the amenities in the bathroom. I'm just like, ooh, free comb. Ooh, free mouthwash. Very useful. Also, let me explain to you guys how I booked this flight. I booked tickets for me and Oscar when I was searching award availability. And immediately when I saw there was first class space on the Qatari 380 from Frankfurt or to Frankfurt, once again, I was like, snap them up with British Airways Avios. It's 50,000 miles per person one way, which is a steal for first class. We paid 100,000 for the both of us. Literally, some airlines would charge more than 100,000 first class for this route for one person. Now, let's just raise the privacy partition to see what it would be like in theory. Bye, Oscar. Yeah, obviously not fully enclosed, but super comfy. We are one hour and 45 minutes out of Frankfurt. And since we ate so much in the lounge, we weren't really hungry earlier in the flight. But now the time has come to have our meal. You guys have probably been wondering, like, Dano, where's the food? Is there no food on this flight? And you may also be wondering, where is he sitting? Well, one awesome thing about Qatar Airways first class is that you can dine together. So let me show you. I'm sitting on the ottoman by the TV. They even have a seatbelt here. So in case of turbulence, you're safe. And you can sit and face the person you're dining with. So the meal is starting. I mean, how beautiful is this? This is really like a true gourmet restaurant. We have our drinks that we love, Sojeni. We're starting out with some fruit as well. So Sojeni is their non-alcoholic wine. We have bread, vinegar, salt, everything we need, and the beautiful candles. So bon appetit, Oscar. And second course is some Bercher muesli with soy milk and some berries. And now the appetizer, which is this, what do they call it? Cauliflower tomato chick... Yeah, cauliflower chickpea salad. Looks a little bit simple, but hopefully it's good. All right, guys. The main course is here. Things got a little weird now because all the dishes until now were the same, which I expected. But whenever I fly with Oscar, I make sure to order him or one of us the oriental vegetarian meal and the other one vegetarian vegan. So we can at least compare two different options. But the thing is, we both got the same main course, even though we ordered the different option. So I'm not quite sure why, but let me show you. So here is the main course. We have some tofu, noodles, bok choy, and red pepper. Bon appetit. Oh my god, you guys. So I was filming and accidentally my phone knocked this over. So I made a bit of an oil spill. And I feel so bad because I hope this tablecloth doesn't get ruined. Yeah, just kind of hide it for now. Pretend it didn't happen. All right, you guys. So I'm here with Rue. Hello. Hi, everyone. So Rue and I were on my first QSuite flight. I was there with Rue about a year and a half ago now. Yes. And now we reunited. In first class. I don't know. I guess we upgraded, but QSuite is already... We did. I don't want you to leave. Okay. Maybe we come back together as well. Yes. All right, you guys. Bye, Rue. Thank you. Okay, this has happened a few times now. That I've had the same crew on several Qatar flights. So actually from that same flight, my first flight in QSuite, which is my video with over a million views now. Another one of the crew members, Zenobia. I met her on the inaugural to Gothenburg. Just so many reunions. All right, you guys. We're already approaching Frankfurt and I'm so sad. This flight was way too short. I feel like it went by like this. I don't even know like what I did, but it passed. Now for the juicy conclusion. What did I think about my first time in Qatar Airways First Class? I've flown every single business class product that Qatar Airways has. I've tried their economy class. So this was really the... Oh, I forget all expressions like this. But this was the golden jewel of what I needed to try at Qatar. And I've finally done it. So many people will say about Qatar First Class that it almost is unnecessary because their business class is so good. And to some extent, I agree with that. Because honestly, Qatar Airways business class, especially if you're in QSuite, is just unbelievably good. It is the world's best business class without a doubt. So when you're in first class, there's not really more they can do for the service. There's not really more they can do in terms of amenities. Although there weren't slippers or like pajamas on this flight, it wasn't a night flight. So not totally necessary. So the service has been fantastic. Also, how does the seat compare to their other products? That's a good question. I think it's definitely the most comfortable bed by far. We lucked out having this plane to ourselves because... Well, this plane, this first class cabin, because we got a lot of privacy. But I think from a privacy perspective, I think that QSuite is probably a little bit better. Although it's obviously not as spacious. But overall, it's still a fantastic seat. It is super comfortable. So I guess to me, it comes down to this. On this route to Frankfurt, a business class ticket with miles costs 38,000 British Airways Avios. And a first class ticket costs 50,000 miles. For me, those 12,000 additional miles are definitely worth it for the increased privacy, for being able to fly on the A380 in such comfort. Because you benefit from having a bar, which is so much fun. Then you get the beautiful lavatories, you get nice amenity kits, you get the Alsafa first lounge, which is insanely good. If the price difference is small, it's definitely worth it. But would I pay a huge premium for Qatar Airways first class over business class? Especially if it was QSuite? Probably not. Because it just doesn't make much sense. Because literally, QSuite is first in business. And there's not really any reason to pay a ton more for an experience that is marginally better. But with miles, for me, this was worth it. Oscar had such a blast. We're going to talk to him a little bit after landing so you can hear what he thought. That is ice. Down in this giant sphere This is a world wide for me Finally you are near Okay, you guys, I got in something comfier and something warmer for Europe. So I think also I have a baby alien that's going to soon give birth out of my face. So the flight was so insanely good. Like I cannot begin to describe how amazing it was. I think we have to remember that we were all alone in the cabin. So that's like the number one thing that made it super special. I think the coolest thing of the entire experience that really set it apart from Qsuite or business like Qatar would be the El Safa lounge. All right, you guys. So we are going to head off to our connection in KLM Economy. We did this so that we could save a bunch of money. So we're not flying with Transit Direct. KLM Economy it is. We'll get home in about 10 hours time when it's really a one hour flight. So from first class to extreme money saving measures. But don't forget to give this video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it.
