Just when you think you know what Arsenal are doing, they will hit you with an RKO out of
nowhere. And that is the case today, as Emeko Arteh has searched to bolster his midfield.
Have Arsenal agreed a £30m deal to sign Porto's Fabio Vieira? What does this mean for the Gunners
pursuit of Juri Tielemans? And in their latest meeting with Man City, have Arsenal closed a deal
to sign Gabriel Jesus? Yo, what is going on guys, my name is Babs14 and welcome back to
your boys channel. So smash a like if you enjoy, subscribe if you're new, help your boy on his
road to 100k and let's get straight into the Arsenal transfer news. And we're gonna start off
with one person only and that is Fabio Vieira. You see, I heard a lot of Arsenal fans that were
starting to complain during his transfer window. But you see with Arsenal Football Club, expect
the unexpected. As it all starts off and Pedro Sepulveda dropped an exclusive saying that Fabio
Vieira will be an Arsenal player and there is already an agreement between Porto and Arsenal.
And so many Arsenal fans were just so confused saying surely this can't be true, there must be
a mistake here, there was no links beforehand, Arsenal and privacy, that doesn't work. But then
you had the confirmation from David Ornstein, who confirmed that Fabio Vieira is set to join
Arsenal from Porto. The fee will be 35 million euros plus 5 million euros in add-ons. It's a
five-year deal. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder is now flying to London and will undergo a medical
before completing a move. When David Ornstein speaks, of course you got here, but also when
it comes to confirmations, it's just three very specific words I also need to hear and that has
also happened. As Mr Here We Go himself gave Arsenal on Here We Go, saying that Arsenal have
reached a full agreement with Porto for Fabio Vieira, here we go. The personal terms are also
completed and the contract is until June 2027. Bish, bash, bosh, here we go, confirmation, David
Ornstein, whatever you want, Fabio Vieira will now be an Arsenal player. Arsenal have agreed an initial
fee of 29.9 million pounds. The deal is now totally finalised and Arsenal negotiate a deal
below Vieira's 42 million pound release clause. Edu Gasper gets a lot of stick in the media that
he's not very good at negotiating, but in this case here, it is not about release clause FC and
Edu and Richard Garlick have negotiated the price tag and got the player for a very reasonable deal
and according to the man that broke the exclusive in the first place, he claims that Vieira is
already in London. Tomorrow he will undergo medical examinations and sign a five-year contract
and as long as those medical tests goes to plan, Arsenal will have a brand new 22-year-old Portuguese
midfielder on their hands for the price tag of 30 million pounds. So now that we've established
that a transfer is definitely happening, let's talk about the player himself because I'm sure,
just like myself, many Arsenal fans would not have watched the player, don't know who he is,
but are definitely binge watching right now on the YouTube highlights. He is one of the most
highly rated young midfielders in the world. In fact, last summer he was named the Euros
under-21 player of the tournament and at that youth level, he was a captain of both Porto
and the Portuguese national team as well. But on top of the player being that leader
type of profile, let's just say he has the stats to back up the hype. As last season for Porto,
in 27 appearances, 46 shots, 34 chances created, 21 take-ons completed, 14 big chances created,
14 assists and 6 goals scored. And with those 14 assists in the Portuguese league,
there was no other player to provide more assists. The fact that he was the top assister in the
Portuguese league is impressive in its own right, but out of those 27 games, he only started 15.
Essentially speaking, in the second half of the season, after Luis Diaz departed to Liverpool,
Vieira became far more prominent in the Porto team, starting more games
and definitely having an impact, averaging a goal contribution every 60 or so minutes.
And even in terms of the underlying metrics of expected assists and progressive passes,
look at the top right-hand corner, up there with Trent Alexander-Arnold as one of the best
creators in world football. And it's not just about the offensive numbers,
Mikel Arteta also wants midfielders that are tracking back, that are working hard.
Vieira also ranked very highly last season in terms of counter-pressing and final third recoveries.
Despite me not watching the player, asking people that have watched him play,
they all say that he's a very tenacious character. He stands around 5ft6, 5ft7,
he works very hard, he's of course a leader at youth level. And according to the people that
have watched him play for years, he is a very model professional. He is always willing to
learn and to understand new things and that would be music to the ears of Mikel Arteta.
In fact, according to David Ornstein, it was thought that the signing of Vieira was driven
by Mikel Arteta, who has expressed his admiration of the playmaker for months. Lastly, for Porto,
he played as a right wing, as a number 10 and for the Portuguese teams as a number 8.
And he is as that number 8, as that interior, which is where I think Mikel Arteta is going
to deploy him. On the right hand side, we only had Martin Odegaard, but in the case of Fabio Vieira,
he will now be a direct competition. But on top of that, Vieira has also been likened very much
to Bernardo Silva. This is a player that is very, very good in tight spaces, especially in the half
spaces. If he's surrounded by 3 or 4 players during a press, he is capable of playing through
it. So to summarise what Arsenal are getting, very simply, we are getting an advanced wide
playmaker, highly technical and creative, exceptional ability to manoeuvre in tight
spaces, has the vision, confidence and the ability to execute killer passes and pinpoint crosses,
fast and agile, has high football IQ and on top of that is also a set piece specialist.
When you put it that way, for the price tag of £30 million, I can see why so many fans
that have watched him play are saying that Arsenal are getting a bargain. I understand that him being
that left footed profile and very similar to Martin Odegaard, they will be fans that question
the signing. If you want to be an elite team like in Man City, like in Liverpool, having 2 top players
in every single position is very, very important. So what are your own thoughts on Arsenal signing
Fabio Vieira out of nowhere and for the price tag of £30 million, do you think it is a good sign?
According to Ben Jacobs, signing Fabio Vieira doesn't impact Arsenal's pursuit of Uri
Tielemans. The club still see Tielemans as a top priority and remain confident of agreeing a price
with Leicester. Some fans were thinking that Arsenal signing Fabio Vieira was because they
pulled out of the Uri Tielemans deal. But as confirmed also by Fabrizio Romano, Uri Tielemans
remains Arsenal's top priority and they are continuing to pursue a deal. As that left-sided
number 8, despite Vieira's ability to operate there, that is far more suited to a Uri Tielemans.
And for the price tag of £25 million, I think Arsenal can still afford it.
You see, since the departure of Arsene Wenger, it seemed like Arsenal had moved away from the
whole technical Mfiel type of profile. And under Unai Emery, the signings of Matteo Guendouzi,
Lucas Torreira, the departure of Aaron Ramsey, it seemed gone are the days of your Fabregas,
Nasri, Kozola profiles, those technical pro-fishing players that helped Arsenal dominate so many games
for so many years. But with the signing of Martin Odegaard, the introduction of Emile Smith-Rowe,
the signing of Uri Tielemans and Fabio Vieira, Arsenal are returning to their football heritage
in terms of packing their teams with top technicians. This all points towards
Arsenal next season being a far more dominant team. Forget about parking the
bus or for counter-pressing, it's about keeping the ball in the opposition half,
sustaining pressure and becoming more like a Liverpool and a Man City, dominating games on
a far more consistent basis. With Vieira and Tielemans alongside the likes of Partey, Odegaard,
Sambi Lukaka and Brane Zaka, do you believe that Arsenal will have enough midfield quality
to get us in the Champions League next season? Moving on to the attackers, let's talk Gabriel
Jesus. You see, prior to the whole Fabio Vieira saga hitting the world, it was all about Gabriel
Jesus. As today, according to the very reliable Gary Jacobs, he confirms that Arsenal are closing
in on the signing of Gabriel Jesus for £50 million. According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal
are set to hold a brand new meeting today with Man City to negotiate a deal, to agree a deal and
get a transfer over the line. And in the same report, Jacobs also claims that the player in
In fact, according to Arsenal442.com, they claim that Gabriel Jesus, his family and his agents are
now back in England. He wants to decide on his future as soon as possible. Arsenal also want
to finalise the deal shortly. In fact, in these next few days, once Arsenal announce Vieira,
I fully expect reports to come out that Arsenal have agreed a deal and potentially even those 3
famous words from Fabrizio Romano saying Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal, here we go. According to Fabrizio
Romano, when speaking on the future of Christopher Nkunku, he says that I am aware that there has
been speculation about Arsenal chasing Christopher Nkunku. It is not an easy one for Arsenal. The
price tag is over 100 million euros because Leipzig want to try to keep him at all costs and
could even offer him a new contract this summer. Now we spoke about this in our last transfer window
and for that price tag, I think he's a tremendous player Nkunku but I just don't think Arsenal
should be paying that. And I say that because according to many reports, next season Nkunku's
contract has a £60 million release clause. You also have to attract the player and with the
likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and so many elite European clubs that have Champions League
footy are also interested in, even if Arsenal had the finances, I still believe it is a very unlikely
transfer. That being said though, as Arsenal have shown in this transfer window with the signing of
Fabio Vieira, anything is possible and always expect the unexpected. Fabrizio Romano speaking
on Rafinha says that Arsenal have been keeping tabs on Rafinha since March. He is one of the
possibilities on the list, but not the only one. Leeds are asking for 55 million euros guaranteed
and not paid in many instalments, which is why the deal with Barca has slowed down. You see for
that sort of price tag, even if Arsenal could afford it, having signed Fabio Vieira, I don't
think Arsenal will now sign Rafinha. You look at the profile of a Vieira able to play as a number
but he's also played many games with Portugal and Porto as a right winger. Unless the cronkies have
given Arsenal one of the biggest transfer funds ever existed, I'm just a bit on the fence now of
whether Arsenal will sign Rafinha, make an actual offer and try to complete a transfer. But on top
of Gabriel Jesus, do you guys still believe that Arsenal should be signing a winger? An exclusive
from Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester City are now set to submit an opening proposal
to Brighton for Marc Cucurella. If Man City are trying to sign a left back, what would that mean
for the future of Oleksandr Zinchenko? By signing Cucurella, Man City will make Zinchenko available
and that then opens up the possibility for Arsenal Football Club as an inverted left back profile,
the backup or the competition for Quirintini and as a midfielder as well. It makes so much
sense in terms of Premier League experience, the versatility, but for now it's all about getting
Moving on to the other Arsenal news today, you see yesterday I spoke to you guys about today being
the day when the Premier League fixtures were to be announced and it was a rumour that was passing
by that Arsenal's first game would be on a Friday night football against Patrick Vieira's Crystal
Palace away at Selhurst Park. The Premier League have confirmed that it will be Crystal Palace
vs Arsenal to open the Premier League season Friday night 5th August at 8pm. It is straight
away deja vu from last season, Brentford, newly promoted team, they smashed Arsenal 2-0. But you
know what for myself, I see this as an opportunity for Arsenal to show that they have learnt from the
previous mistakes. It is time for this young Arsenal team to become of age and it is the
perfect opportunity to show the entire league, the Arsenal fans and the world that this is a brand
new Arsenal team with the right additions and this season we mean business. We're looking into
August, after Palace away is Leicester at home, Bournemouth away, Fulham at home and Aston Villa
at home. 3 games at the Emirates, 2 games against newly promoted sides, they are some really
winnable games there and if Arsenal can win I guess 4 or 5 of those first games, then let's just say
the shameless side of Arsenal fans will come out and talks of title charges might become a thing.
In September it gets a bit harder with Man Utd away, Everton at home and Brentford away.
October brings in Tottenham at home, Liverpool at home, Leeds away, Man City at home, Southampton
away and Nottingham Forest at home. There are a lot of games in October and that is because going
into November, after Arsenal play Chelsea away and Wolves at home, there will be an interval
for the 2023 World Cup, alongside the games in the Europa League group stages, the Carabao Cup as well.
The season itself is very long in the first place so on top of that, to get a World Cup in between
is going to be very tricky to navigate around and a test for Arsenal Football Club.
But after the World Cup it's over in December, it's West Ham at home and Brighton away. Into
the brand new year and Arsenal play Newcastle at home, Tottenham away and Man Utd at home.
In February Arsenal will play Everton at away, Brighton at home, Aston Villa away and Leicester
away. March is Bournemouth at home, Fulham away and Crystal Palace at home. And April is where
it gets very tasty. Leeds at home, Liverpool away, West Ham away, Southampton at home, Man City away
and Chelsea at home. Hard games there in the busiest end of the season. If Arsenal have progressed in
the Europa League, there will be a lot of fixtures there and for Mkhitaryan it will be time to
utilise the massive squad that he hopefully has. And in the final month of the season, in May,
Newcastle away once again, Brighton at home, Nottingham Forest away and Wolves at home on
the final day of the season. If Arsenal are fighting for the Champions League places,
again it's an opportunity to show that we have learnt from last season, that we have grown from
last season and these so-called tough away games against teams that are most likely mid-table teams,
we can now go to, we have the quality to do the job and not collapse unlike last season.
But there you guys have it, that is the 2022-23 Arsenal Premier League fixtures. What do you guys
make of it? And after the first 5 games of Crystal Palace away, Leicester at home,
Bournemouth away, Fulham at home and Aston Villa at home, out of a possible 15 points,
how many points do you think Arsenal are going to get? But that is the video there and there,
hopefully you guys have enjoyed, smash a like if you do, subscribe if you are new and help me on
my road to 100k. The links to all my social medias will be linked down below in the description if
you would like to follow. But that was today's episode of the Transfers FC and Arsenal are
signing a player. It's not Jesus, it's not Tielemans, it's not Refinha but it's Fabio Vieira.
Welcome to Arsenal, surprise surprise and let's see what tomorrow has in store.
Until then, take care of yourselves, goodbyes.
