Hey everyone, today we're going to be talking about primers.
Primers, I'm like such a primer junkie, it's so important to put a primer on underneath
your foundation.
If you're one of those people that are like, I don't need a primer, like this is just,
I don't need to spend my money on a primer, you're completely wrong.
A primer is something that you absolutely need under your foundation.
It's going to prolong the wear of your foundation, it's going to bring out the pigmentation of
your foundation, it's going to protect your skin, and it's just going to create a flawless
base for your foundation to go on your skin.
I'm going to be sharing with you my favourite primers.
I have a couple high-end and drugstore ones, and I also have dupes for some high-end ones
as well from the drugstore.
I'll start off with my MAC Pepper Prime.
This is the skin base massage.
This is the first primer I ever bought.
I love this.
It's almost like a lotion, and it has like little specks of little like glitter light
in there that really illuminate your skin.
It reduces redness, it has like special effects, silicones, and maybe that little effect set
in there.
It really gives you like a fresh face look.
It's not dewy, but it just enhances your skin.
It soothes the skin and allows your application of your foundation just going absolutely smoothly.
This one I will use until the end of time.
Next is the Stila One Step Correct, and when I first used this, I fell in love.
I actually used this on a film that I did, it was an all-male cast, and I mixed this
with a little bit of foundation.
It just made them glow and look healthy and just like radiant on camera.
This is a skin tone correcting and brightening serum.
There are three different spirals in there.
There's green, purple, and salmon, which all color correct different areas of your face.
Oh, it's a triple swirl helix actually, sorry.
And this is technically a serum, not a primer.
It says that it color corrects, brightens, primes, and nourishes the skin.
Green minimizes redness.
Lavender counteracts sallow undertones.
And peach brightens and illuminates, so it is really a one-step correct.
It's a beautiful light consistency.
It's not heavy on your skin.
And you could almost wear this on its own with no foundation in the summer, and you
would just be glowing and beautiful and ready to go.
It also controls oil, hydrates and balances the skin, minimizes pores, and minimizes the
look of wrinkles.
These two are like my must-have kitty essentials.
I absolutely love them.
I want to talk about a drugstore primer, and this is actually the L'Oreal Magic Lumi.
And I use this so often, like, oh gosh.
I love mixing this with my foundations.
I rarely use this on its own, but I love mixing this with my foundations because it just gives
you that illumination and glow without looking, like, oily or, like, shiny.
It just gives you, like, a glow from within.
This is a light-infusing primer, and it says to wear under or mix with foundation.
You can also highlight your face with this.
It's a really beautiful, beautiful product.
I have this little baby.
This is the Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Primer.
This primer is really, really popular on the market.
It preps your skin and creates a flawless finish.
It has a silky blend of vitamins in there and antioxidants, which, like, smooths and
perfects the skin.
I find that this looks really great on skin if you are on camera, if you're taking photos
or on film.
It looks wonderful.
It really fills in any lines, and it's almost like a pore-filling balm, but it just, it
really smooths out your canvas.
That's why I really love this one.
A dupe for the Smashbox is the NYX Photo Loving Primer.
These are pretty much the exact same product.
The NYX one is a little bit of a thinner consistency than the Smashbox one, but they're
both absolutely beautiful.
Great for on camera.
And up close.
Like, if you're looking at someone's skin up close, it really just, like, smooths it
and, like, blurs everything.
And the makeup application on top of this is just beautiful, because your canvas is
just, like, blurred and smooth.
Let's talk about Makeup Forever HD Primer.
This is a lightweight, oil-free complexion perfector.
This looks phenomenal on camera as well.
It works really great with the NYX HD foundation.
This one doesn't fill in lines as well, or, yeah, as well as the Smashbox one, but this
looks, it just, it really, instead of blurring and filling in lines like the Smashbox, it
kind of just blurs it for on camera.
It really looks beautiful.
It's long-lasting, and your makeup application is just going to be, like, seamless, like,
flawless.
This, the Makeup Forever actually does come in, like, a big bottle, but this is just a
little baby sample size.
An amazing dupe for the Makeup Forever is actually this, this is the NYX HD Makeup Base,
or is it Makeup Base?
No, it's Primer Base.
And this one is high-definition, mineral-enriched, tug-free, and paraben-free.
The NYX HD has a light-diffusing effect, it just, like, blurs the lines.
Do you see a theme here, like, all these primers just, like, blur and, like, make us look beautiful?
I feel like I'm doing this a lot.
It applies velvety and soft, allows for perfect foundation application, it's glorious.
So there's two wonderful HD primers.
I'm going to talk about my Paul and Jo Moisturizing Primer.
This is in the shade 03.
This primer came into my life in the summer, and I fell in love with it.
It's the best-selling primer in, I think, Asia?
Yeah.
Best-selling primer in Asia.
It is so, so beautiful.
It does come in three different shades.
I have the shade number 3.
This is, like, glue in between your foundation and your face.
It's, like, literally glue.
Your foundation will be on your face for days.
It's moisturizing.
It has an SPF 15.
It does come with a pump.
Most of these, pretty much, yeah, all of these do come with a pump.
Yeah, I don't know what else to say about this.
The bottle's cute.
The packaging's cute.
This is the cutest packaging primer.
This is, like, a little, like, chi-chi kind of thing.
This I use mostly for my personal use.
All these other ones I would use in my makeup kit.
Next I'm going to talk about the Anna Sui Pore Perfecting Balm.
Like I said, it is a pore-perfecting balm.
This one smells like rose, and it is pink.
It's, like, a little baby pink.
It's very cute.
I've been getting pores lately, and it's very strange for me.
Like, sometimes, like, right around, like, here, I'll have, like, pores, and I'm just
like, I don't want that, so I'll just apply a little bit of the pore filler here.
I find that it applies really nicely on the skin.
It doesn't, like, cake up or ball up or move underneath my primer.
I will apply this underneath my primer, and then I'll put my foundation on top.
This one's been really awesome to me.
I haven't had a problem with it.
And one more pore filler, which is from NYX.
This is one of the best pore fillers out on the market.
If you don't want to splurge and buy the Anna Sui one, this one, this one will do you just fine.
The only difference is really that this one doesn't smell like rose.
It says here, a magical agent that minimizes the look of pores to create a smooth, porcelain,
doll-like finish to your face.
Yep.
And what's great about this one, you can also wear it over top of makeup.
So throughout the day, if you're seeing, like, oh no, my makeup's kind of, like, moving and
shifting, you can take a little bit of this and smooth it over, and it's just going to
fill in any of those pores or lines, and it's just, your makeup's just going to look flawless again.
Alright, those are my favorite primers.
I hope you guys enjoyed this video.
If you guys have any favorite primers, leave them in the comments down below, because you
know I love me some primers, and I would love to go pick up some more goodies.
I, I, primers are just, like, something, I don't know, it's just something about them.
I, I don't know, I'm a skincare person, so I love me some primers.
Um, yeah, I'll see you guys in my next video.
Bye.
