-Soko Glam July Curations

Hi everyone, it's Charlotte and welcome to the Soko Glam July Curation Update. So before we get started on these wonderful curations, I do want to let you know about something that has launched and something that we've been working really, really hard on. So last month, at the end of June, we launched our very first skincare retail experience in New York City, and that is called Soko House, and the team has been working day and night to make this a reality. And I'm so excited about this whole concept called Soko House because it is so different from a regular pop-up. It is a true skincare retail experience, and let me explain why and how this came to be. So first of all, when you come into Soko House, we want you of course to explore the products, but we want you to go home with the products as well, because we know how important education is in your skincare journey. So when you go to Soko House, you'll not only have Soko concierge, skin experts that can really help you get started on your skincare journey or just really get you acquainted with products that will really deliver results on your skin, but we also have something called Soko Sanctuary. So Soko Sanctuary is one-of-a-kind private skin fitting room, so that when you go to Soko Glam and you go to the Soko House, you really don't have to try products in the aisle in public on your hand like most of us may do at other retail locations. You can actually go home with the products in your own private space. So this allows you to really make sure that these products are a good fit for your skin. So you literally go into a private vanity area, you can close the curtain, and you could utilize all the products straight on your face. You could wash your face, do the double cleanse, you could put a five-step routine on, a 10-step routine on, but you could really make sure they're a great fit for your skin. And you also have Soko concierge standing by to really help you walk you through the experience or give you some skin tips. We're huge on education here at Soko Glam as you know. We know that's the basis of having great skin is being educated and pretty much being your own skin expert. And so that's been a big part of our DNA, whether it's through our clog articles or whether it's just through the way we explain our products on SokoGlam.com. So we are so excited to translate this into a very unique skincare retail experience. So if you're in town, please stop on by. We have a lot of amazing things going on. Now that we talked all about Soko Haus, I'm so excited to talk about the new curations for July. We have two new amazing brands to join the Soko Glam family. The first I'd love to talk to you about is Mediheal. So Mediheal is an amazing sheet mask brand. They are the number one sheet mask brand in Korea. I've used them for years now and you probably have heard of them just because they're that big. They're just synonymous to the number one sheet mask in Korea, the original sheet mask makers. They made like 1.3 billion sheet masks. It's crazy. And to be honest, I wanted to curate Mediheal for the longest time. It's been years in the making. I remember years ago I was telling, you know, Soko Glam team members that we have to have Mediheal on the site. But when we talked to them, they weren't ready for the U.S. They just were so busy selling all their sheet masks all around the world that they weren't ready for the U.S. But now they are. And so this is a big moment for me that Mediheal is finally at Soko Glam. By the way, the NMF mask is literally one of my favorite masks. They have so much variety and they're so affordable and accessible. They just know how to make sheet masks really really well. It's kind of like when you go to a restaurant and they make like two different dishes. You know those dishes will be amazing. They're all about sheet masks. Collagen Essential Lifting and Firming Sheet Mask has hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, beta-glucan. It just really smooths plumps and make your fine lines and wrinkles look less noticeable. Tea Tree Essential Blemish Control Mask contains tea tree oil, herbal extracts, willow bark. That's all great for deep cleaning your pores. Also contains chamomile. My friend Rio, who's an editor at The Strategist, loves this mask. The NMF Intensive Hydrating Mask is literally the OG Mediheal mask. It contains so many great hydrating ingredients. Hyaluronic acid, amino acids, peptides, and humectants. It's almost like your body's perfect moisturizer. The DNA Hydrating Protein Mask is unlike the others that we've carried from Mediheal because it's soaked in a creamy serum and it's an innovative bamboo face mask. It has jojoba oil, squalane, ceramide. So if you're especially dry, this is a mask for you. The WHP Brightening Hydrating Charcoal Mask is great for complexion because it'll make your skin look bouncy and bright. Also contains niacinamide, acai fruit extract, and it's really recommended for oily and normal and combination skin types. The Capsule Hydration Treatment Sheet Mask is a two-step process. First, you put on the biocellulose face mask. It has hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed collagen, and fermented coconut water. And the biocellulose sheet mask is really unique because it is really difficult to make, but it really hydrates your skin. And step two is after you use the sheet mask, you remove the sheet mask and then you put on a bit of the Ceramide Capsule Activator. It has really silky emollients that make your skin look plump, nourished, and smooth. So now that you know a little bit about the sheet mask we've carried from Mediheal, know that I have my eye out on other sheet masks from Mediheal, which include the lovely mask set that features BTS. Mamonde is a brand that we curated about a year and a half ago, and you guys have been expressing how much you loved a recent set that we put together. And it was limited edition, so it sold out really quickly, so we decided to bring it back. This set features the Mamonde Lip Sleeping Mask, and I've talked about on my Instagram, you guys have shared with me you love the concept of this, and so do I, because it really delivers results. The Lip Sleeping Mask contains Glycolic Acid in it, and most Lip Sleeping Masks, they're really about hydration, but this kind of does double duty. It not only exfoliates your lips so that it's smooth and soft, but it also hydrates. So I thought that was a very unique characteristic of this Lip Sleeping Mask, and I shared that with you, and you guys were all on board, and you have loved the results. So we brought it back in this Mamonde exclusive travel set. In the travel set also includes the Pore Clean Clay Mask. So in this mask there are walnuts in it, but it's super fine. It's not going to hurt your skin at all. It really helps gently exfoliate your skin, and I just love how it is really hydrating, really draws out the impurities. And then, as you may know, I love the Oil to Foam Cleanser. This is super travel friendly, and you can really do the double cleanse in one go. So what's unique about this is that you pour a little bit of the formula onto your palm of your hand. It's more of an oily texture. You massage into your skin, you add water, and then it completely transforms to a foam. So that's super unique, great for your double cleanse if you're in a rush. And also this contains the Hydrating Beauty Water, which is honestly kind of a tried and true product now at Soka Glam at this point. It's so hydrating because it contains natural organic rose extract and water, and it's great for you to test this out if you've been on the fence. All of these are, again, TSA friendly, and so if you've just been curious about Momond brand, I think this is just a perfect set. Also new with Momond, we have the Brightening Cover Watery Cushion. And let me tell you a little bit of backstory behind this curation. First of all, if you follow me on Instagram, you know that I love the Missha Signature Essence Cushion. It's super hydrating, it provides great coverage for me, especially with my hormonal acne, and I've been using that religiously. But guess what? Missha decided to discontinue it for some reason, and you know, honestly that's a story for a lot of Korean products that you may fall in love with. Just as fast as the innovations come, that's how fast they go, and unfortunately we have no control over that. So I personally was devastated about Missha discontinuing that. But there is a silver lining. I basically went on the hunt for my replacement cushion because I live by cushion compacts, and I happened to stumble across Momond's Watery Brightening Cushion, and I felt that it was just as hydrating and even provided a little bit more coverage than the Missha Cushion, which is actually something I was looking for. So we tested it, and we decided to curate it. And I've been talking about this on my Instagram for a while now, and I'm so excited for it to be on the site. Also because it has more color ranges than the Missha Signature Essence Cushion. So more colors, obviously it's not like 50 shades. Unfortunately, Korea only has a limited shade range, but as they come more and more to international markets, they are trying to increase their shade range. So let's encourage them, and let's let them know that we're excited to see at least six colors, and hope that they do more. I personally use 21. 21 is ivory, and then there's also 23 beige that sometimes I use. It really depends on kind of the season, because if it's the summer and I got a tan, then I kind of go towards the 23 in beige. But when it's like the wintertime, or I want kind of like a brighter, lighter complexion, then I go for the 21. Last but not least, we have a brand spanking new brand to hit Soko Glam, and that is called Some By Mi. And I know this is a cult favorite product in Korea. It is definitely becoming a sought-after brand, and I'm so excited to have it on Soko Glam. We curated two different types of products from Some By Mi. First, I'm so excited to announce that we have the Galactomyces Pure Vitamin Glow Toner. And seriously, this has been so great to use. It reminds me of how excited I was when Cosrx came to Soko Glam. And this contains really great ingredients, and very accessible in price. 88% galactomyces in this formula, and 1% vitamin C. So I know you guys like your vitamin C. You love the Cosrx Triple C. You love the Klairs. This is like a mild form of just vitamin C goodness for your skin to really brighten your complexion. Again, vitamin C is one of the most powerful antioxidants, so if you're looking to brighten your skin tone, really reduce any pigmentation, might as well introduce a toner into your routine that contains 1% vitamin C. So you need to remember to make sure you store this properly. You want it to be away from direct sunlight, and you want to make sure you close the cap tightly, because it is pure vitamin C in here, ascorbic acid, so it will start to change color with time and exposure to oxygen and all those elements. So the second part of this line that we curated is the Pure Vitamin C Glow Serum. And so this contains 75% galactomyces, but it contains a higher percentage of pure vitamin C slash ascorbic acid. So this is 3% ascorbic acid, and it is great for targeting areas of your skin that you feel really need a boost of brightness. And also remember, same as a toner, this is pure ascorbic acid, so you want to make sure you keep it in a cool, dark place. I hope that you guys love the addition to these, because this is affordable vitamin C products. They are so well formulated, and I know you'll love the ingredients when you pour through them. So I hope you enjoyed these two. And now for people who are looking for something that can help with acne, hormonal acne, like myself, you are probably looking for chemical exfoliants. So we've added this to our line. I noticed that a lot of products from Soka Glam contain hydrating ingredients, but we wanted to really boost up our chemical exfoliant curation, so happy to introduce this to our line. This is the HABHA PHA 30-Day Miracle Toner. You've probably seen it all over YouTube. People have been doing these 30-day challenges with this line, because it has an amazing combination of all three acids, and they're all mild levels of it, so that it's not too harsh for your skin every day. It contains citric acid, it has papaya extracts for exfoliation, has salicylic acid, which is great for targeting acne and any oil-loving pores. Also has lactobionic acid, which is PHAs. So it has a little bit of everything, so it's a mild treatment for your skin, but you can use it daily, no problem. And I think that's sometimes what your skin needs. Instead of inundating your skin with too many high percentages of acids, this is more like daily maintenance for your skin. And also, I forgot to note that this contains real tea tree water in here, so that's a big part of this line, which I really love, because tea tree is one of those really natural ingredients that's great for oily skin and acne skin. So if you're looking for something to treat acne, check this one out. And another part of the line that complements the toner so well is their HAPHA PHA 30 Day Miracle Serum. And this contains also real tea tree extract. It also contains lactobionic acid, it has wintergreen extract, which is also a great way to clear pores. Also has glycolic acid and citric acid and lactic acid, so has a lot of great acids in here. And again, it's not overwhelmingly too harsh for your skin or anything like that. It can be used on a daily basis, which I love about this line. And a key component of this serum that differentiates this from the toner is the fact that it contains 14.5% centella asiatica. And centella asiatica is one of those tried and true hero ingredients that you find in a lot of beauty products because it really helps soothe and calm your skin. So I hope you love both of these from Sun By Mi. I love the name too, Sun By Mi just rolls off your tongue. This brand is definitely up and coming as a cult favorite in Korea and in the U.S. for good reason, for sure. And I think what's special about this is that it truly is accessible. And so it's more along the lines of like what you love about COSRX, what you love about, you know, just really effective skincare products that you'll truly see a difference in your skin after using.
