Hey guys, it's Charlotte, and welcome to the October Curation Update.
Just a bit of news, you may have seen on our social last month that Soko Glam went Soko Glamping
for the very first time, and we had so much fun bonding and having s'mores,
and even getting our sunscreen on.
So I want to thank you guys because you may have experienced a slower response rate to our emails and DMs at that time.
That's because we are unwinding and relaxing together, so thank you so much for your patience.
A few days ago, I asked on Instagram what you'd like me to cover in the October Curation Update,
and I got one particular question that I thought was important and I wanted to address.
The person asked,
Great question, this is the process.
We actually spend several months testing these products.
First, we check out the pH levels, the ingredient list, also the brand and where it's sold,
and we also get to talk face-to-face with the brand and ask very intimate questions about their formula.
Also, we have an amazing team that loves skincare with various skin types,
and they all take the products home and they get to test the product on their particular skin type.
And for me, I get to take home every single product and try them for myself.
Let's talk about snail skincare products.
I know you guys have a love affair with snail mucin in your skincare products.
I do too, and so I was looking out for any great snail skincare products.
My friend Devin, who is also the beauty editor at Allure, clued me in on this brand.
This is SMD Cosmetics, and she told me about the snail mucin cream called the CeraMay Snail Secretion Cream
that has 62% snail mucin extract in their product, and it really helped bring hydration to her acne-prone skin.
So for me, someone who also deals with hormonal acne, definitely had to try it.
Tried it, and I was hooked.
I love the way it felt on my skin, I love the hydration,
and also the fact that all the snail mucin is sustainably and safely sourced.
I spoke directly to the brand owner, and she told me that the snail mucin is sourced from Chilean farmers,
and everything is safely sourced, and so this was an important point for me
because it does have 62% snail mucin in it, and so that's another reason why I curated this product.
Also, SMD Cosmetics, they have been around forever.
They've been around since 1995, and have tons of products under their belt,
and I chose this cream because I saw the most results,
and plus, I knew you guys were looking for snail mucin, and it's a bestseller in the U.S.
So I hope you guys enjoy it, and I'd love to hear your feedback on this snail cream.
Another skincare brand that we brought to Soka Glam that has a very popular snail mucin product in their line is Ellensilia.
So I've heard about this brand for many, many years now.
They're actually known for this particular product because it sells out in home shopping in Korea,
and it's just one of the most successful snail products in the history of Korea.
It's crazy that now it's finally at Soka Glam, and I think you're gonna really like it,
especially if you like snail mucin products.
This actually has 80% snail mucin in its formula, along with arbutin, which helps brighten the skin.
Also, if you don't notice that Ellensilia has really no frills packaging.
It's very basic. It's not a super pretty jar, but that's the whole point of this brand.
They want to focus on really highly concentrated ingredients and not put a lot of money into marketing or packaging,
so they could just give you all the great ingredients in this jar.
So hopefully, through word of mouth, people will share about the results they've seen,
and that's what they're focused on rather than packaging.
If I had to compare the two, I would use Ellensilia at night, maybe as a nighttime sleeping pack or a night cream,
and that's because this has 80% snail extract, and this has 62% snail extract,
and this one is just a little bit more stickier and heavier than the Cerame.
So this one is great if you really care about packaging, and also if you want to wear this under makeup.
And the other two products I brought from Ellensilia is their eye cream and their ampoule.
The Ellensilia CCP Intensive Eye Cream has 80% hydrolyzed collagen, and it also contains peptides,
so it'll really help with firming that under-eye area and also with any fine lines or even deep wrinkles.
I really like the packaging for this eye cream, and I really like the consistency of it.
What's so unique about the consistency is that although there are a lot of gel eye creams nowadays,
this is slightly heavier than a regular gel cream, so I really feel it helps coat and protect that under-eye area.
And the next product is the Ellensilia Propolis Ampoule, and it does contain 82% black bee propolis.
And for those of you who are new to this ingredient, propolis is a very powerful antioxidant, and it is created by bees.
So if you're looking for vegan skincare, this is not for you.
But if you have dehydrated damaged skin barrier, you're gonna love this.
So if you're looking for anti-aging products, definitely check out the Ellensilia line.
Now let's talk about acne.
I curated something from Apieu. It's a non-kotitri toque powder.
That's a mouthful.
And this is a product that I thought was really unique.
We've never curated an acne-focused product that is made with powder.
And so this ingredient list is very interesting.
It contains tea tree leaf oil and satellite asiatic extract and madocassoside,
which is all great for calming any inflamed skin.
And as you know, when you have a pimple, you have inflamed skin.
So I found this very useful for me when I broke out last month,
and I had a little red bump, and I used a pimple patch, and the pimple patch was fine and really helped calm it down.
But then I just needed something else to coat and protect my pimple after I was done using the pimple patch.
So I sprinkled it on my finger, and I tapped the product onto my pimple,
and it immediately mattified it and immediately absorbed into my skin.
So it was a really unique feeling and fragrance.
The fragrance definitely smells like tea tree oil, and it really just helped calm it down even further.
And then a few days later, my pimple was completely gone.
So if you're looking for unique acne-focused treatment that will calm your skin after the whole pimple patch phase,
this is a product you should check out.
So let's talk about Benton.
I know you guys are a huge fan of this brand, and so am I.
So you guys are gonna be happy to know that this cacao line is now on Soko Glam.
First things first, let's talk about these two products.
They're both formulated with cacao extract, and a cacao extract is a very powerful antioxidant.
And also, this line is specially designed for sensitive skin types.
So that means that it has a very mild and gentle pH.
And also, it is fragrance-free.
So you really don't smell anything when you put these two products on your skin.
It also contains hyaluronic acid, so it's really gonna make your skin moist and hydrated and healthy.
I know someone that has tried these products, and they left a review on Soko Glam.
Her name is Hailey, and she talked about how she has very, very sensitive skin.
It was to the point that it was flaking, and anything she put on her skin burned her skin.
So once you apply these two products on, it felt amazing, and she really, really helped her skin recover.
So if you guys are also sensitive, check out this line.
Also, if you're a big fan of no-fragrance products, this is the line for you.
When we launched Plantbase earlier this year, we were so shocked to see that their ampoules were so popular,
they sold out multiple times on Soko Glam.
So we took a hard look at the other products in their line.
First up, I wanna introduce to you guys Nature Solution.
This is a hydrating bamboo water.
And what's unique about this is that you have to shake it before you use it
because it contains 15 natural oils plus over 86% bamboo extract and water.
So I like this because it really focused on highly concentrated ingredients.
Once again, this whole brand is about using a lot of natural extracts as a base of their formula,
which is why they call themselves the Plantbase.
And this particular product is actually certified, Eco-Cert certified for the organic ingredients.
If that's important to you, you might wanna check out this product.
And the fact that I have dry skin made me really like this toner
because not only did it hydrate my skin,
but the natural oils also almost put like a protective coat and layer on my skin.
You guys will love this.
Definitely check this out if you're a fan of Plantbase.
And if you're more oily skin type or have acne-prone skin type,
then check out their PoreN ABA Toner,
which is great because it has 79% tannin, which is a natural stringent,
and this patented ingredient called Evermatt.
And this helps wick away sebum and help minimize your pores.
And they have several studies to prove that this formula can help do that.
To conclude this curation update, I wanna talk about a product I carried many months ago.
This is the Easy-Do Dermaroller Program.
And there are so many great reviews about this product,
but I also had a lot of DMs coming through asking about how to use the ampoules in the kit.
So I wanna address it here.
Basically, when you use this dermaroller,
you wanna apply it with the ampoule that comes in the set.
But this ampoule could actually be too much and too sticky for your skin type.
So I recommend that instead of using the whole vial,
you can use about half the contents of this vial and then save the rest for the next day.
Or you could use a serum that you personally like using and using the dermaroller on top of that.
So it's really simple and easy to use.
I just wanted to clear that up since there are so many questions coming about the stickiness of this ampoule.
And also, if you have any other questions,
definitely check out the video that I created for Soka Glam YouTube channel about this roller specifically.
Alright, that's it for now.
I hope you guys enjoyed watching.
Let me know if you have any questions at all.
Also, I did get a lot of requests for a winter skincare video.
So I'll keep that in mind for next time.
Alright, thanks. Bye.
And this product...
Come on, Charlotte. Let's just do this.
