It's kind of messy I've been in japan for about a day and a half now And like I said, i'll be here for about two and a half weeks and first few days just feels kind of lazy Like I don't really want to do much. It's a saturday. All the restaurants are going to be busy I just want to go get some simple stuff and I really liked what I did in taiwan Just go to 7-elevens go to convenience stores grab some stuff that's convenient and cheap stuff I can eat either in the store or come back here and wash it down with a set of how I met your mother Right now it's about eight o'clock in the morning. My stomach's been rumbling since six So we gotta go eat. By the way, if you haven't seen it on my vlog channel, this is my little apartment here in tokyo It's kind of messy and my view of nothing Whatever that sign is. That's one view. I can see a little bit of the daylight Just so just to know if it's sunny or rainy kitchen fridge And these are really confusing things. Like i'm not really sure what this is I'm thinking it's the stove, but it has a volume button. I don't know if that controls the sizzle It's a very modern kind of high techie Little apartment Washing machine no dryer Shower system. Yeah, look at this. You can actually turn on Like the heat for the shower room so you can shower in maximum comfort the lock system is so Secure got two of these locks that you open by pushing these little things And this is what I love about tokyo I walk outside and this is the main street right here and right away family mart there And 7-eleven there Little kids going to school on a saturday kind of brings back memories of china Also, I mean they're just literally going by themselves I don't think kids can do that nowadays, right And I got lucky they're restocking all the food as we speak right now Potato salad with bacon anything with a 7-eleven premium. That's kind of what I look for Some kimchi this is what I love all the rental boxes freshly stocked Spring onion hot pot looks good Check it out Oh, it's been too long Mapo tofu bento Meat over rice always a good option Oh, this is new. This is something they just created for valentine's day the rose rice cake This looks awesome Sesame parfait Try to pace myself already. This is just breakfast I'll be eating here for the next 24 hours at least so I think this should this should do for now. Oh, this is a special two chocolate steamed bun. Oh, I don't think I have it anymore This is so good. Calpis soda. Oh a dango I think I got a good haul Every time I go into one of these places. I want to try stuff I've never tried before because there's always like, you know Hidden gems and food items that are really good that not a lot of people may know about so basically going to 7-eleven It's almost like treasure hunting for me for so long I've been trying to get you out of my head. Oh, yeah But somehow I always seem to wake up in your bed Welcome to saturday morning breakfast, you know, you can always tell How How many people that the staff thinks are actually eating this stuff from the number of chopsticks they give you three four Little do they know This is all I need. All right. I think my rice ball is melting I'm gonna put this in the fridge for now. I'm not gonna forget it though I gotta try this. This looks so incredible. This is a spring onions hot pot I can't tell whether there's meat inside or not. This is a little yuzu packet Yeah, a little yuzu packet and it says Yuzu and pepper. Oh, it does have a little pork right there 500 watt four minutes Waiting for the microwave to finish cooking your 7-eleven might just be the most excruciating thing You can ever feel pretty sure if anybody ever wanted to torture me just do this. I mean, I smell it. I want it I just can't have it yet I just got my first 7-eleven injury. Oh I was trying to deep plastic my my chopsticks and I just went like this Of course, and I didn't see there was a toothpick in here. So this thing just stabbed the heck out of me It's actually bleeding pretty bad. It's like stabbed really really deep. Yeah, whatever the pain in my stomach's worse Don't do what I did when trying to open chopsticks from 7-eleven. There's a toothpick in there. All right Itadakimasu Oh, so this thing. Ooh Tender tofu big chunks of spring onions. And if you never had spring onions from japan, it's Wonderful. So garlicky and refreshing. It's like, uh, maybe little pieces of daikon in here pork belly cabbage This is just a really nice Light soupy hot pot dish and I feel like this needs a little spice. I'm gonna eat that with a little kimchi I'm gonna add the yuzu This is so good this reminds me of the samurai cuisine I had a couple years back a lot of nabe a lot of spring onions Broth is so nice beautifully porky Ah fresh spring onions you guys can hear the crunch, right? The texture of the spring onions is firm is sweet Extremely crispy and the sweetness stands out more Because it's cooked into savory broth Oh, there's a hair in here. Oh, this is horrible That's definitely not my hair. It's ingrained into the soup Well, at least we know that you know humans actually put this together. Yeah, whatever. What's a little hair? I came from new york. Seriously. This is not the worst i've done I'll tell you guys once at a sushi shop in new york city Not even kidding There was a small fly on the plate of my sushi the chef takes it like in front of me Not even like let me go to the back and create this like mystery So it gives you the psychological comfort that I that I gave you a new sushi plate in front of me Chopsticks took the fly off sets it back in front of me. So I did the only thing I could I ate it. I mean it doesn't enhance the flavor. I wish it wasn't in there, but I'm, not gonna waste food because of it. All right next up. I gotta try this mapo tofu. This looks awesome Once you microwave everything you lift this up And do this with one hand you dump it onto your rice And they even give you A citron peppercorn packet to dump on top of the tofu because all lovers of mapo tofu knows you gotta have Dried peppercorn on top this honestly looks and smells better than some mapo tofu i've seen in restaurants You know that the really runny kind with peas and carrots in there. Yeah, this looks smells so much more authentic really tender. Nice Nice use of tender tofu little bits of minced meat I gotta say This is yamalicious Whoa might be my new favorite dish from 7-eleven get this next time I could serve this at a restaurant No one would complain nice fermented bean flavor. This tofu is as gentle as a mama's kiss little bits of chewy pork I mean it's not as spicy As I would have loved but it's got that nice peppery flavor probably because of the peppercorn powder So it's nummy and it's so saucy and whenever you eat this thing the fermented bean flavor the soybean flavor I mean, that's kind of what i'm looking forward to besides the spices. It is an abundance here Home run 7-eleven more than mixed up for that hair eat it with some of the kimchi That's great kimchi by the way, you know what This is so good. I'm gonna add in some potato salad with bacon make this even better. Let this join the party, you know A little bacon little potatoes mixed with my Porky tofu dish that just means you never had potatoes and rice before and I feel sorry for you That is not bad at all with the potato salad, I mean traditionally You know ancient chinese people By the way, kelp is peach soda Oh so yummy, it's like they squeezed a peach in there from the orchard This morning and then brought this to my face Anyway, like I was saying mayonnaise-y bacon potato might not be what the ancient chinese envisioned to go best with this dish But i'm just saying a little mayonnaise-y mushy potato To go with some nice spicy tofu and meat It's not a bad pairing that's half the fun of eating at a 7-eleven in these asian countries is you can buy all sorts of ingredients and food items and more likely than not It's gonna taste good and you can mix and match and you can combine flavors together It's like a food playground for adults, you know, you go there a lot of things to choose from Mix and match Have a good time. Now. Let's see how the salmon tastes without this This is like premium gold dish when you see this icon, it's supposed to be amazing Roasted salmon and it's nice that they give you a really fatty piece, too Oh, I don't know if salmon is accepting marriage proposals, but i'm about to try oh my god It is fatty and melts in your mouth. You gotta be careful. There's bones in this thing. It's got a sweet Teriyaki flavor melty pieces of meat so juicy. There's so much flavor this end You see this right here. See that fat. This is the best part. See my how my chops are just like See all that juice coming out of the salmon. This is all fat and this oh, this is gonna be the best part of the fish Oh my god, it tastes like it just came off the grill that fat is everything I can't believe i'm eating a piece of microwave salmon You know that dry piece of junk that you get every time you go to red lobster or a lot of seafood restaurants Trust me this little four dollar microwave piece of salmon 20,000 times better than what you're eating right now than what you paid twenty thirty dollars for you know I want to talk to 7-eleven. I just want to open like a Like a 7-eleven restaurant In the u.s. And i'll just serve this my entire Kitchen will just be like 30 microwaves people can come in. I'll just microwave these things up honest truth How many of you will come to that? I've had countless dry pieces of junk salmons in my life that I paid probably 15 20 dollars for this Beats all that. I still think japan's 7-eleven is the best in the world apart from that hair incident a little earlier every single thing I've had there. There's so many just unbelievably mind-blowing food items This looks great too Slices of beef on top of rice covered in sesame and sauce the beef has got a nice mixture Lean strip of fat in the middle and as soon as this thing is opened Oh, you can smell the charred grilled flavor some rice a little beef Oh, this is so good and they also put like a little bit of pickled veggies in here because the meat is all Melty, you can see the marbling just streaming through the meat. I can read some of the characters. It said, uh Time Which is charred grilled beef another great Great dish from 7-eleven. Oh, i'm so excited about this Ippudo, I had the Ippudo instant noodles before i've never had it in this form This is basically cooked and then packed seasoning packet tonkatsu ramen with roasted pork fillet fresh spring onions noodles Seaweed big chashu on top Ippudo ramen from a microwave. Oh, it's hot. It's hot broth is on the bottom. I think it's boiling right now i'm gonna try to Get the ingredients in without hurting myself Wow This thing is kind of uh looks a little dry tons of spring onions noodles actually feels pretty springy Even though they've been in the microwave. I'll be honest does not look half bad Here's some white pepper. Of course. Ippudo ramen is really good with some raw garlic That's Ippudo broth, I mean this is legit, of course they definitely packed this whole thing with original ingredients Right the noodles obviously they're not going to be as springy as if you actually went into the restaurant but for something out of a microwave That is way better than I thought So I guess if you don't want to wait in the line of a typical Ippudo or if you just don't want to leave your apartment Like how i'm feeling in the last couple days This is 100% much better than the instant noodle option eat that with a little salmon and kimchi It's like an almost restaurant experience without leaving your house not for the true test That chashu is dry that's not very good or flavorful Authentic Ippudo ramen from the microwave Sesame parfait with mochi rice balls. I think this is Sesame cream some kind of little cake. This thing looks crazy good Oh, this is awesome heck yeah, oh man, this is great putting stuff on the bottom too. There's so much sesame in here So many different textures that little cake on top bouncy and chewy Wow and the most milky smooth pudding base the genius is they put roasted Sesame on top so you actually get a little crunchy texture Looking at this. There's like three four different uses of sesame You know, they put the sesame on the side little sesame paste that asians love It's got such a huge sesame flavor a little sesame cream and then little bits of roasted sesame as well Just with some tea. Hang on a second Yeah, don't go small when I go for my tea This was some tea Magical, I mean this thing tastes like the perfect first date, you know, sweet magical full of surprises and sesame Like this right here. I've been eyeing this ever since I walked into the 7-eleven Made in Hokkaido already tells me it's good pink rice cake with red bean paste and what's really cool about 7-eleven here is that They make things based on holidays and seasons and this of course It's definitely made for valentine's day a little shriveled up rose on the top Cool chewy mochi-esque rice on the outside creamy sweet bean paste. I'm gonna eat this rose Oh Wow, okay. So what they did with the rose was that they soaked it in the same marinade and make salty plum So it's like Salty that's kind of surprising. I didn't expect to actually have flavor. This is a cute little dessert I mean ladies, come on. We're a little pink rose sticky rice ball. Dango is something I love to get in japan Oh, this is so good when it was freshly roasted one of my favorite things to get in kyoto Salty sweet gooey and ever so delicious. All right, I think the rest of the morning Put on a little how I met your mother drink my tea. I still got a couple sandwiches I kind of made a mistake. This is the blueberry cream sandwich. I thought it was great. I had this before It's okay. Not the best and I got my egg sandwich as a little Mid-episode snack. I think this is how i'm gonna spend my day so far It's so bad when it comes to personal injuries and finding hair in my food but found some really good new things to eat in 7-eleven, so I'm, pretty happy
