2 Nights Winter Camping in a Homemade Hot Tent at -23°C

Beautiful. Tons of space. Nice fire you got there. Yeah. You sawed all this wood. Hardwood? Softwood. Mmm. That's good. It's condiments. You don't even need them. So we're just about wrapping things up here for the night. Quite cozy. Ben's already snuggled up into his big love sack. You look cozy, my friend. Oh, that's an understatement. Negative 23. Yeah. It's cold. Good news is we got the fire going again. And a coffee. I got pizzas and cream and dino eggs. That's it. Do you want three dino eggs or? Sure. You hear the birds outside? It's spring. Yeah, I can actually hear the animals rather than when you're like streaming at night. Weird screaming? Well, yeah. Like at one point, like I wasn't like particularly afraid of it. It was just like, oh, that's weird. Or it's just like I heard some screaming from some animals over there. Well, it just made me like. So there's like, there's like cougars and apparently they're like famous for like, it sounds like a woman being murdered because it's like it's just such an intense, scary scream. And like, it didn't quite sound like that, but it's like, oh, that doesn't sound good. There's someone being murdered over there, but at least I'm not over there, I guess. What I was thinking is like, you know, often people, we come into the woods and we're scared of everything else. The best part about this tent is that this is the scary thing out there. You stumble upon this tent on your walk. You're not going close to it. It's a scary looking thing. I think like, who the hell is living in that? Like I don't want to mess with them. It is pretty shifty. Yeah. Yay, lunch. Artichoke and asiago. Chicken turkey burger round two. Probably the second time. Yeah? Oh, really good. Me and Ben have our chill on hard. As soon as we came back from our hike, we came in the hot tent and it was, there were still sparks to the fire, so we got it relit and then the tent became warm and then it's kind of hard to get out once you're in. The heat that's radiating off the sofa here, it just pulls you. It's a magnet. It pulls you in. Yeah. Not much happened today. We had a pretty relaxing day just chilling here in the hot tent. I took an amazing nap. It was probably one of the best naps I ever had. The sun was beaming in through these walls. The heat from the stove was just right beside me, so it was like such a nice, warm, ambient, comforting place that we were in and I wish I could share that experience with you, but until Elon Musk gets his Neuralink up and I hook that Neuralink to my VCR, there's no way I could show you my nap, but just trust me on the fact that it was really nice. Other than that, we're chilling, we're going to make some dinner and go to sleep. It's going down to negative 23 tonight, so it should be interesting. Hopefully we keep the fire going all night and that's about it. I don't know what's wrong with me. Sometimes I just like make these really poor judgment calls. Yeah, it's almost like you have ADHD and your brain might be underdeveloped and you have prefrontal cortex. Weird, eh? Hmm. So, we're going to head off to bed now. We got a good collection of wood going on down here. We're properly stoking the fire tonight. We're going to set a couple alarms so we wake up to keep it nice and warm in here. Up and at em. So, we kept the fire going all night and did I sleep? I slept well. How'd you sleep? Good, brilliant. Had the alarm set for every hour and a half, woke up, put some more things in the fire, went back to sleep immediately, so it was pretty straightforward and good. So, it's about 8.30am. We're up and at em and we're just packing up to get on out of here. We had a great night's sleep last night, much better than the night before, but that doesn't mean we don't have things to do today. So, we're heading on out of here. For me, this trip was awesome. It was great to be in a hot tent after spending so many nights in the cold, especially when I get to spend that in the company of my little brother Ben. Yeah, I had a lot of fun. It was great to go on that hike. It was great to hang out around here. It was like a nice contrast between super hot and super warm at all times because outside it's like 23 degrees, but in here it's like 20 degrees. It's really nice in here and nice to hang out.
