Easy Pikachu Origami - Pokemon Go DIY - Paper Crafts

Hello, hello, welcome back to Red Dead Art. Now today we have a little bonus video because I just got so excited. Have you been playing Pokemon Go? If you have then you might be really excited about our little Pikachu. So this is a little guy, he actually stands up, look at that. He's based on a paper bunny origami that I've done before but I think it works perfectly as a Pikachu do so I wanted to show it to you again just in case you missed it. Now, I used a square piece of yellow paper which I've actually cut from an A5 sheet of paper by folding a corner up and cutting across it and yes, let's make our little Pikachu. You'll need some pens and the yellow paper and that's it. So you fold it up, up to the middle, about that so. Then you take it over and you do a very light crease. Now this is just to guide you about where the ears will go so don't make this too hard, just a light crease. Then you fold up about a centimetre at the bottom to create the sort of ledge, this is what's going to be the ears. So if you want fatter ears you can fold it up a bit more, if you want thinner ones you can do a bit lower. Make a nice neat crease here. Now you take this side and bring a line, this with the centre line that we created as a guide. So do it as neat as possible and then nice neat crease and again bring this up as neat as possible. Brilliant, there we go. Now you've got this little triangle down here, you can just pop it up and this is going to be your stand. Now turn it round and take a little bit here down just so you've got the ears, tuck in the sides and you have your basic Pikachu shape. Isn't that cute? So simple. Now I am going to use my little black bit here because I've got marker pens, I don't know where our normal black pens have gone so and the marker pens always go through underneath. So I'm just going to colour in the ears like so. This is such a quick craft isn't it? Colour in the other ear like so and I find it easier to just mark out the eyes first like so. And then I'm going to go over it with a pen. I just sometimes get a bit distracted if I do it by pen straight away. It doesn't matter though. Or you can cut them out with black paper. Also you could add a little bit of white for the eye but it works fine. This is quite a thick black pen so you might want to use a thinner one, it's up to you. And then just add the cheeks. Big, big red circle. Again you can glue some on if you want to. I think this is quite nice that this is a non-gluing origami. This is a proper origami, just decorating it. And then if you want, I've got a thinner pen. Just because I have it handy. I just like to do the outline because it kind of gives it that sort of cartoony effect. It doesn't have to be super neat.
