Those steps there. Well this one is 10.90 so it tells you it's the 9th.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is the oldest Chinese restaurant in Austria.
They used to steal one lime per week. Yeah. I will just crush it a bit and smell it.
Oh, it's lavender. I think the person who was planting this place knew what he she was doing.
You will find in every train station tram 1 and tram D.
Hello, ihr Lieben und herzlich willkommen by living in Vienna.
Now we spotlight everything that's going on here in Vienna.
At this moment we are here in Servitengasse which is also called the little France because of
the architecture here and the mood, everything here.
And we just came out of the Servitenmarkt so check out our previous video to see what's
going on at Servitenmarkt. And so now we want to go walk from here which is Servitengasse,
go down the Potsdamer Platz and we're going to make a turn just to explore this particular area.
It's a very beautiful, extremely beautiful area of the 9th district here in Vienna.
And so we want to take you along on this exploration.
If that sounds interesting then let's get in in this direction.
Okay, I get behind the screen. So this is where we're coming from.
We're coming from here and we're gonna take you around this beautiful place.
Let's go. The little France, where we're coming from and where we're going.
What does it say? The last time we walked here it was locked down.
And now this is Bergasse. I've walked here before during a time of snow.
And if you go up here, that's the ring, is that the ring?
That's the Ringstrasse. And Bergasse goes on. Of course this is the lovely Rebhund with the
Schnitzel in town. And so that's Bergasse. And ladies and gentlemen, we're gonna be walking
down this beautiful street. So first of all, I want to give you all a nice view of this wonderful,
beautiful, oh my gosh, it's so beautiful, so beautiful. Let's go, let's go. We are now on
Okay, okay.
I'm so nervous. The small dogs are always so nervous. So does anyone, any of my esteemed
viewers know why this place is called the Little France? The Little France. It's very beautiful,
Look at the buildings. The tramway is going here. They are so beautiful. And so this is also another
nice, nice, nice. I wanted to show where we're coming from. Let me just stand here.
This is a biker's lane. Wow, it's really beautiful. What is this street?
We are calling it, ah, we cannot see it from here. But look at this beautiful place.
It's a Landgasse. Beautiful. Okay, I think we should probably not be walking on the
biker's lane. Do not walk biker's lane. Okay, tell me about this playground place.
Are they like, it's a gaming shop. It's a gaming shop. Still days of summer.
This is the one with the steps, yeah? Those steps there. Yeah, these are
the interesting steps. We don't know the steps. I don't know what's the name of the steps.
This is Landsknecht. It must be Deutertas.
Okay.
On a farm. And this person is not a farmer.
Not the owner of it. Ah, okay. The farm worker.
Schauspieler house. The actor's house. I find this building to be very interesting.
I don't know if it's visible, how it's looking. Wow. And then there is where we're coming from.
Oh, so beautiful. Okay.
Let's keep going.
I normally say that only young people are interacting with
my camera, but that guy has proved me wrong right now. He said hi. And so, ladies and gentlemen,
we are approaching one of the places with the best chicken burger. This place here, the 1090.
1090. 1090. So, maybe just one thing that you probably already know if you're living in Vienna
or is it generally in Austria, that the coding for the district,
these are, yeah, the coding for the district, like 1090, you will know the,
like Vienna is the one that starts with 1000, yeah, in the Bundesland.
Yeah, the postal account. The postal number. The postcode, yeah. So, the way the postcode is
organized is that Vienna starts with 1000, yeah, and 2000 is Bugenland, yeah. 2000,
I don't know. We don't know. We're not sure. So, the first district will be
1010. So, the zero one in the middle is what tells you the number of the districts. So,
this one is 1090. So, it's zero nine tells you it's the ninth district. And we are walking on
Potsdam. But this cafe is, this restaurant is called Das 1090. Very good chicken burger there.
And I think I just say it's very good because it has, it has, what is this, avocado.
It's just a chicken burger, a grilled, like a nice grilled chicken with avocado. They have,
they've included avocado in them. So, some nice Chinese restaurants called
the Golden Drachen. Drachen is dragon? Yep. The Golden Dragon. Nice. This is a very interesting
restaurant. I think they only open lunchtime, if I'm not wrong. Yeah. They only open lunchtime.
But it looks like they are open right now. This is the oldest Chinese restaurant in Austria.
Oh my gosh. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the oldest Chinese restaurant in Austria.
The first Chinese restaurant. I should be reading things. In Austria, since 1963.
Yeah. And going in, you go through this little place here, go up. It's a very strange place.
Okay. And then here, actually, this route takes us back to Siavitan,
Siavitan Castle, because this here is a Siavitan church. Okay. But I think the
Liechtenstein Palace is calling us. I can hear them saying, Rose, come here.
So, we're going to go to Liechtenstein Palace. Liechtenstein Palais. We say Palais, yeah?
Liechtenstein Palais. The palace in the neighborhood. The neighborhood palace. Here
it is. Is it open? Yes. We can also go through the Panya route. There's a Panya route, but why
go through the Panya route when we can go through the main entrance? You know a Panya route? It's a
Here we go. Oh, look at this elegant door, that gate. Oh my god. Let's just go here.
I'm gonna, I'm gonna expand this to wide angle to take it in.
That was not...
Look at this door. So beautiful. Okay, let's go in. Liechtenstein Palace.
Look at that. Wow. We are still what? You are still on wide angle. Yes, because I wanted to
get the whole of it. So, ladies and gentlemen, please do not report this to anyone, but I used
to really steal, um, they're called what? Lime, lemons. I would just come in the morning on my way
to class or something and I would grab a lemon. Yeah, but as we know from the governor from Ugueni,
yes. This is not stealing. No, only if you're taking to your children. If you have children,
yeah. If you are stealing to take to feed your children, but I was feeding myself.
This is not stealing as well. When you take, when you steal something to eat,
that's not stealing. So, I'm going to go back to... Oh, okay. Maybe let's just keep it at wide angle
so that we can have everything, but it's so far away. Are the limes ready? I was, I used to steal
one lime per week and then I would, I would cut it nicely, keep it in the fridge. Yeah,
but they're not ready. Oh, yeah, no, yeah. Yeah, I was stealing one lime per week
and using it for my tea. Yeah, because I was working here every morning, you know,
and the limes were so beautiful because it's very hard to not pluck one.
This is, is it like the same person who designed
Shumbrong, that designed this one? Because they are, they have a striking resemblance.
It is like a little Shumbrong, a very striking resemblance. Look at that. This is the middle,
that's where we can go. And now we are going, we are taking you to the Palais, Palais Garden,
Palais Garden. It's so beautiful. The flowers are out, the roses,
wow. Possession. Okay, maybe we should not forget the palace on this side. Oh, beautiful.
Look at these massive doors. You know what I'm going to do? I will change the hand.
Look at this beautiful place. Let's walk in the middle. The roses, they are so beautiful.
Let me go close to one. It's roses. I think there is lavender. Is this lavender? We'll find out in
a moment. Let's go here. Smell the roses. So beautiful. I think that the purple is the lavender.
Nice. Let me go check out the lavender. Liechtenstein Palace. Beautiful.
Let's have a look at the lavender.
Do not step on the grass. Is this lavender?
Wow. I will just crush it a bit and smell it. Oh, it's lavender. Oh my gosh, it's lavender.
So beautiful. And then look at this. Beautiful. Beautiful. Okay, let's go.
Beautiful. I like these ones with a little splash of pink. Some little splash of pink.
Yes, beautiful. And you can smell the roses from here. You can smell the roses. It's always very
hard to get these seats. Now I cannot even take the camera there because this guy is really looking.
The palace garden. Look at this place where nobody's allowed to sit on the grass,
which begs the questions like, ah let's go to the to the waterfall. Do not walk in the grass.
Ladies and gentlemen, we have been told not to walk on the grass and here you are
walking on the grass. The waterfall. Beautiful. Okay.
So beautiful. Let's walk around and get out. Yeah, yes. That's the palace that we're leaving
behind. There is a Kinder Spielplatz and I think it would be nice to see this
waterfall from here. Nice. The trees here are named. You can know the names of the trees.
It's good to be a child. They say do not sit on the grass. They offer only one seat here
in this bench here and then they give such a beautiful garden. This is like tempting
us to sit on the grass. From here it's private. Ah, it's private. What is this? It's not part of the
Over there is a sign. Ah, that says this is private.
So Liechtenstein Palace used to belong to the Liechtenstein family. Is that so?
It's possible, yeah. And now it's open to the public, to the commoners. We are welcome.
This looks like it was part of the, well, not really. The architecture is looking very different.
I like this bush because it has so much texture in the sense that there are the smooth,
this smooth, you see the smooth, somewhat smooth leaves on the side and then there are these
pretty, a little bit rough and then these are quite rough and then these ones are just different.
Like the textures are so different and just like that it looks so beautiful, you know.
I think the person who was planting this place knew what the heck he or she was doing.
The person who planted this part did a good mix, just like the person who created us.
Made us so different so that we are so beautiful but we use these differences
against ourselves, against each other. Blutahon. Blutahon. That's an ahon.
And then this is the part that actually looks more like a farm which I like actually.
Looks a little bit like a barn, you know, in the farm but we are not going to go there.
It's calling our name and we just said nine.
Unfortunately not.
We are refusing with all words that are available to say no.
Such a beautiful garden. If you're living in the ninth district, do you come here
to this garden? Or if you're living in Vienna, because I know
there's some people who will go a distance to go to a favorite garden.
Ah, so this is the one that says Privatgrund. Okay, so if we can just understand.
This is the Assebach. Assebach Palais. Which is this, yeah? This one here.
And then we have walked down here. And here is the palace, the garden palais.
And then these are the places where we were seeing the roses.
Super, let's keep going. So I think the palace is, the palace grounds is open until
8 in the evening. 8 or 8.30. We are still in the ninth district, a very beautiful,
extremely beautiful district here in Vienna.
This is Assebach Strasse. And the interesting looking building that is
pipping through here is the Franz Josef Spaniel. So one cool tip, if you're living under a rock
here in Vienna, is that in the train stations, can I say the train stations or the main train
stations, you will find Billa, which is the a grocery store here in Vienna. It will be open
longer. That is up to, normally the grocery stores are closing at 6, is it 6 or 7?
8. 8 p.m. on a weekday. On Saturday they close at 12, midday. On Sunday they are closed. Regular
grocery stores. But in the train stations, like this is a train station going to the
is that the south? The north. You are going to the north. You will find in every train station
that is Hauptbahnhof, the Praterstern, Billa. Oh yeah, Billa. What is this place? Franz Josef.
The grocery store remains open until 10 p.m. So it is the behavior of Viennese people.
Some of them. To be able to cram up in this Billa at the train station
last minute, you know, on a Sunday or just the time when everything else is closed.
Yeah, so there you go. Cool tip. And so if you remember, we went to the vibrant
20th district. And let me show you, from here we can see the 20th district.
I think this building here, the white and the red, is actually in the 20th.
That's how close everything is in Vienna. And so this pipe is actually going to the 20th.
It's driving the tram. So the pipe is actually a nice
thin line to explore Vienna. It will bring you down the 7th district, 8th district, 9th,
the 20th. And then the second, Praterstern. It ends up in Praterstern. So if you're a visitor
here and you don't want to do the hop-on hop-off, you can still explore the city. Number five is a
really good one. And then number one is going around the ring. Tram number one is going around
the ring. Yeah. Number two is also going around the ring. So those are really cool trams.
Yeah.
Yeah, so here are really cool tips for you if you're visiting Vienna
and you want to spare some coins so that you can go shopping for something cool.
Yeah, so line five, take a line five, take line two, trams, we call them beam in Vienna.
You know why? Yes, you explained to me that it's because it's making, the old one was making the
bell, bing, bing. And so that's how it became beam, beam. B-I-M, ladies and gentlemen. B-I-M
is a, is a spelling. I like these little flowers. We are back in the Posse Langersee.
So we were saying, which, which trams are these? Tram five. The first one is tram five.
The second is tram two, tram one and tram D. Yeah, it's interesting that some trams are called
by numbers and others by letters. Do we know why? Okay, I think the camera is saying Auf Wiedersehen.
The camera is saying Auf Wiedersehen. He's saying, I don't know, but anyway, we, I think we've done,
we've done full circle. So we can end this video. I'm happy to end it in this lovely place
where there is some nice flowers here.
Wait for these, these trams to pass. I hope you've enjoyed that lovely walk in the ninth
district, starting from Little France and around the area, going to the Liechtenstein Palace,
all these nice places. And until next video, Tschüss, Wiedersehen, Koheri. So let's wait for the
phone to just go off. Maybe we can go inside somewhere. Yes. Okay. Yes. Let's go have a chicken
burger. The best. The absolute best. Yes.
So I'm gonna finish this here. This beautiful, absolutely beautiful Strasse.
