[4K] VIENNA CITY WALK👣 (2021) WETTLAUF GEGEN DIE ZEIT ⏳ ALTE DONAU mit COUNTDOWN⏱ | Living in Vienna

We're somewhere here and we just want to walk along here. I'm going to make it about 45 minutes walk, not longer. So the idea is to walk as fast as possible, so that's a brisk walking all the way to wherever 45 minutes gets us. I'm very curious to know. So if you like you can do this with me on a treadmill or whatever pleases you. There is a Kenyan flag there. It should have something to do with the mission, the Kenyan mission here in Vienna or in Austria. The water is mighty clean. I love here living. I have little in common by living in Vienna where we spotlight life as it happens here in Vienna. I'm coming to you from where Alte Donau begins from this side of Florestorf and I'm going to try and go up on this stretch and basically what I'm looking for is a way to the other side of the Alte Donau. So basically I should probably be using a map but I'm trying to access the beginning of Alte Donau from this side of Florestorf and so I found this bridge and I think I might just have found where the Alte Donau is starting okay yeah I think we found it. We're somewhere here and we just want to walk along here and so this particular side of the Danube, the Alte Donau will give us the best view of the Alte Donau and so I'm going to take you to where there is more view of the Alte Donau. So let's do this. Let's go. So I'm gonna time myself. I don't know if I'm going to make it because I really like to get distracted by beautiful things like this yellow. I'm drawn to yellow stuff and I'm going to be making stuff like that. Can you see the Donau Torp somewhere here? Yeah it's beautiful. So I'm going to try and do a 45 minutes brisk walk and so let's set the you know to be fair to myself let me start 45 at this particular point. So let's start beginning now. Let's go. I believe this is the side that will give us the best view and a nice feeling. I could suggest that this could be a nice video to use to motivate yourself for a treadmill, a brisk walk on a treadmill. I think that could could be such a good use of this video. Let me know what you think. For some reason you're not able to get out and have a walk and it can as well be used for a treadmill. Motivation. Okay. Was I wrong about having the best view? Was I wrong about having the best view of the Donau? Okay. Who else can have the lovely view? Why? I just walk. Anyway we're just about to get out of the obstruction. Out of the obstruction. So in the summertime this whole area is a lovely beach and I think it's private. I think it's actually private. Let's go. Is that bridge there? I'm scaring myself. Yeah okay. We made a decision to walk here. Let's walk here. Let's not change our mind because this gives us such a nice view of Vienna. The first district. I mean the 22nd district I think. 22nd. Yeah. Let's see how far 45 minutes will take us with me trying to be as less distracted as possible. So I think at this point we will take a turn here and go back to the... but first of all let's have a look at Floristorf. Yeah. So we are now walking on the Wiener Wasserweg. That's not the name but yeah I'm losing on time here but I just need to show you this here is the outer door now and many times we have started our walk on this side on this particular side here but today we started the walk here and we are trying to walk this way to see how far will 45 minutes take us and the question I'm asking myself is which way should I go that will make sure that I have an obstructed view of the outer door now? That's the question I'm asking myself right now. There is no way here so we'll just go back to the street and then we'll try to see if I can recover the few minutes that were lost while I was reading the map. So this is An der Oberen Alte Dornaustrasse. That's where I'm walking right now and as you can see we have nice homes here facing the Alte Dornau. An der Oberen Alte Dornau. Let's see. Hello. Some beautiful apartments here. I'm very curious to see how far I'm able to reach with 45 minutes. So the idea is to walk as fast as possible so that's a brisk walking and I'm trying to cover... I'm not sure how much is the distance going to be but I'm trying to walk for 45 minutes from that spot where we started all the way to whatever 45 minutes gets us. I'm very curious to know. So if you like you can do this with me on a treadmill or whatever pleases you. Let's keep going and looking at the beautiful Floristorf. I'm so tempted to walk here and go see what's going on there but I'm on a time frame. My god what am I going to do? I really want to go there and see. No don't go. You can still see it from here. Actually that's true. So I guess this is a way you can drive up your boat into the lake and of course I'm getting distracted. I'm getting distracted and losing on time. Losing on time. Keep going. So this is a view that I was talking about. It's a beautiful view of the 21st district, the Donauton, the Danube Tower and there is the Millennium Tower there and we're looking at Floristorf on this side. Okay let's see if I can catch up with a few minutes. I'm lost there. I love the homes here. This is the view I was talking about. This place has such a beautiful view. No wonder there's a seat here. This place is providing such a lovely view of the Alte Donau. So I guess we'll go for fishing now. My wish is that at least let me, let 45 minutes, the end of 45 minutes find me at that side of Johan which is Kaisermühle. At least that you'll find me there or beyond. This is a beautiful walk. A lovely walk facing along the, not facing, a lovely walk along the Alte Donau. Brisk walk. I think this is what was called Spazieregga. Okay maybe brisk walk is what these two ladies are doing. A leisure walk. What I'm doing is brisk walking. It's a little bit of a sport. Some nice apartments. Okay I can get you guys above where I cannot reach. You can see what's going on there. These guys have some really lovely apartments. Apartments facing the Alte Donau. So nice place to sit. I wonder what is that bridge there. But look at this. Oh my gosh. This is so beautiful. What are these? Are these seagulls? What are these birds? I can see the seagulls but what about this duck? So here there's some lovely places to sit here and enjoy. There's some seats as well. Some stages here to help jump in the water for a swim. And maybe let's just waste a bit of time here. You know exactly. So we are, what is this? Where are we in this moment? So okay let's keep walking. Oh my gosh look where we're coming from. Look where we are coming from. It is so beautiful. Oh my god. Some circuits to heaven. Can you see them? Some circuits to heaven. Those ones there. Yeah what are these black? Do these birds swim? I don't know. I honestly, I'm not sure if this bird, this one, this look like crows. I don't think they're the ones that are in the water. Please tell me which birds are these? And look at that view. I cannot get over this. I simply cannot get over this. This bird here, I don't think it's the same birds that are here. My camera is quite small. What in bird's name is going on here? Okay now we know that there is absolutely, please don't use this to let you know how much time you're going to take walking for 45 minutes here. Okay there are some nice swimmers here. I think they are done. It looks like they are done. I honestly cannot, I cannot imagine swimming in cold water. All right let's get, I'm not sure how easy I'm going to get. I've lost so many minutes. Gasthaus Maria Parisik. I'm imagining at this particular point, straight on is the Donau Tor. That's just my imagination. It could be maybe here or here. Oh here, Donau Tor. And these buildings right here is a UN. So the Donau, the Danube, what is the name of this place here? Alte Donau. The Alte Donau is almost like a curve because it's going to go towards that direction. So it's curving this way and so if we could just get back on track and keep walking. Brisk walk, brisk walk. Let's go, let's go. Look at that big house. This one here. And then there is a modern house. The old house versus the modern. Which is, which is your favorite? What is this place? What is this place? Okay let's keep our eyes on the Donau. Look at that beautiful view. Beautiful view. And where we're coming from versus where we're going. So some more apartments on this Traigowskiweg. Traigowskiweg. So if I'm not wrong, I think this here, actually I don't think I'm wrong. Let me note. So I think this here is the UN line, the metro line for UN. If you want to see how many minutes have we done so far? Yeah, I have 20 more minutes to go. Such a beautiful view. Okay, there's no way to see that side. So we can now look at these beautiful homes as we briskly walk. Okay, it's a nice home. This way is a nice home. So I think it's possible for me to actually get to Donaustadt. Okay, I think it's possible. Let me aim for that. Let me aim for that. Some beautiful homes with lovely balconies to give you a lovely view of the lake. I'm tempted to just have a look at this apartment. It looks so beautiful. And there's that other one there. This one. Lovely. We are now in the 22nd district. 22nd district. This is where the Danube, the Alte Donau, takes a corner and goes this way. And of course, I'm going to point out the yellow house, which is actually close to my heart because there is a Kenyan flag there. It should have something to do with the mission, the Kenyan mission here in Vienna or in Austria. I cannot for sure say because I don't work for the embassy, but let's give it a bit of a few minutes and then we keep walking. So maybe on the right side of the road. This is the 22nd district. This is Bellini Gasse. The Bellini Vein. Bellini Allee. So along this particular street, you can find a lot of, maybe let me see, seven places where you can get a boat to go on the Danube. So I'm not sure what they're doing to the old house. I hope they're not pulling it down. Why does that bother me? Because I love old houses. I prefer old looking houses. Just for looking at. To live in, I don't mind at all. Oh, look at that. Sehr schön. Now we are. It's not easy to fit these homes somehow. There we go. And on this side, I think I did not finish the sentence. On this side, you can find places where you can rent a boat and you can take a lovely boat ride. But I just want to bring us close here and see how much ice is on the outer Danube. So interesting. So let's not forget to look and see. That looks like an alley. More like a gasse. It's so hot. It's a really beautiful evening. It's afternoon actually. And so we are quickly approaching the U1 metroway and we have 11 minutes to go. 11 minutes to go. And I think in 11 minutes, we can actually get to this bridge over here. Look at this lovely house, even though, even though Christmas lights are still happening. Christmas has been extended to February. So unapologetically, keep your Christmas lights. Yeah, so this is a lovely suggestion to get a boat. You can get a boat here. Okay. We have only 11 minutes and here I am. I don't know if I'm allowed to go here. But I'm going to bring you guys in. There's nobody here. Where is there nobody here? Hello. There is a lovely view. You can see where the ice has gotten to. Somewhere here. So actually this is a really good spot to get a higher boat and ride along the outer Danube. So we're coming from all the way from that side. And so you can see it's almost like a what? Yeah, so this whole part is frozen. Okay, let's get back here. This would be a good place to come and rent a boat. And so I'm not sure exactly how much they're going for in this moment. But I think that's about the prices, if you can see that. So at the risk of having lost a lot of time, what is this shop? It's a lovely shop. A nice home there. I don't know if it's a home. Okay, quickly. Let's walk quickly. We probably have run out of time. We have eight minutes to go and I can say we've done pretty well. We've honestly done pretty well. With all the distractions along the way, there is Yuan going in the direction Obela. Direction Obela. And so if you continue walking here, you will get to Kagran. If you continue walking here, there will be Kagran. There will be this big mall. Doughnut. I forget the name. The big mall. Doughnut Central. Something like that. Yeah, on this street. But we are racing against time to see if we can actually... Let's cross the road. Yeah, this one has some really lovely apartments here. I'm not sure how it is with the noise from the main... from this road here and the metro way just behind. Just behind there. These guys are in between the metro way and the road. So we have arrived at Yeah, 40 minutes walk because it's five minutes. So we've taken 40 minutes with all the distraction to get here. So, very nice. So we have about five minutes remaining. I probably should keep walking. Okay, let's keep walking. I'm really losing on time. Yeah, I should probably keep walking. This is where I totally lost my mind when I saw the ice on Altadona for the first time. I lost my damn mind. If you haven't seen that video, check it out. And please do not, do not laugh too hard. Try and resist laughing. So now we are going under the bouquet, the Prater Bouquet. That's what we are going under and my god, I'm very impressed with the time. I'm so impressed. Oh, why did you tell me this is... we've saved the best view for the last. Very nice. Behind us is the Prater Bouquet and now we are on the side of the Danu where if you are following us or if you've viewed many of our videos from the Altadona, this is pretty much a place we like to start. We always like to start. I have three minutes remaining. I have three minutes remaining. That means I have to keep walking because the idea is to see how far will I get. So I'm just flipping the camera for this lovely view. Two minutes 43 seconds. Okay, let's see if in two minutes I'm able to get to a point where we can have a nice view of the Altadona. We've been here several times with you guys. I'm really hoping these two minutes will stop at a place we have a good view. Let me walk fast and then I could walk fast and get to a place which has a lovely view and I have to keep walking. So beautiful. Oh my god, one minute. We still have to keep walking. Oh boy, that would have been a good place to stop. That would have been a good place to stop. Look at that. Okay, let's hope that one minute ends where these guys are and we can stand there. I did not think I would be able to walk all the way. 45 minutes walk with all the distractions that I had. Amen. So from where the Donau, Alta Donau starts to Strand Café, Castle Strand Café, we have to find out what is this location. Let me just find out. What location is this? What is this location? I will just screenshot and I will share it. So I have screenshot it and this is where 45 minutes have gotten us. We've come all the way from the beginning of the Alta Donau and here we are. We have been walking here. I think here we saw the Siegelschuhhofbauer. So that would be a good spot and we went in there and then we went under this bridge. This is the U1 bridge and this is the Kars bridge and then we've ended up here. How cool. How cool. So I'm gonna go and sit myself there and have a lovely cup of tea because I deserve it.
