So the quest for Everton's first league win of this season continues,
and brings us to Brentford and the GTEC Community Stadium,
where the Blues were denied victory last season by a late equaliser from the home side.
Three points will go a long way in terms of confidence for Everton,
but a tough task awaits once more.
That's just the one change for Everton from last Sunday's home game against Arsenal,
Arnoud Dandjouma drops to the bench,
and James Garner is restored to midfield for what is his fifth Premier League start of the season.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is once more on the bench,
Sean Dyche resisting the temptation to start him,
despite all the talk this week of him favouring two up front.
Everton's performances may have been deserving of more points in the opening five games,
but it's points that count, and Everton would love all three here,
no matter what the performance today.
He knows that.
Mikalenko for Everton.
Now Bramfwaite, just dinked up to Beto,
who's got a great touch into the path of Decore, promising this for Everton.
Decore, can he get a shot away?
He's crowded out in the end, Brentford have got men back.
Everton, with Dwight McNeil now, win a corner.
Well, it looked promising there for Decore, following a good flick on by Beto.
In the end, Everton settle for the corner.
Five minutes played here at the GTEC Community Stadium.
And there it is, lifted in, the goalkeeper punches away.
Young finds Garner, who delivers once more into the penalty area,
Tarkovsky's had it, and it's wrapped home by Decore!
Everton are in France in the sixth minute of this game.
Set up by Tarkovsky, the former Brentford man,
and hammered home by Abdoulaye Decore.
It's his second of the season, it's only Everton's third Premier League goal of the season.
But it's an opener here, very early on at Brentford's.
And Everton are in France, what a fine goal it was too.
The corner initially punched away, kept alive.
Garner's ball in, Tarkovsky's headed down, Decore onside,
on the half-volley, perfectly dispatched.
Past a flat-footed Mark Fleckhan.
And Everton, with the early advantage, superbly finished by Decore.
Just the start that Everton wanted.
Decore doing the business again,
getting himself forward so often now inside the opposition penalty area.
Fleckhan's ball forward, calmly done by Brampt-Waite.
Can't look an assured figure at the back, Jarrod Brampt-Waite,
maturing into a very decent centre-back, having been on loan at PSV last season.
Here's Dwight McNeil into the penalty area, and that was not far away.
Dwight McNeil driving into the box, and on his left foot just inches wide of that post.
Again, a wonderful flick-off from Beto, creating an opportunity for McNeil.
Banana.
Mikalenko.
Banana.
Everton dictating possession.
McNeil, trying to pick up Beto, it's gonna fall here kindly for Mikalenko!
It was on his right foot, he managed to get his shot on target,
but it was straight at Marc Fleckhan who just dropped on it really.
Mikalenko didn't quite get the power, shame it wasn't on his left foot,
I'm sure he would have put Everton two up.
Johan Visser climbing there, wanting a free-kick,
which he's never gonna get from Michael Oliver.
He's not seen too much of the ball, Johan Visser,
due to Everton's confidence in the opening stages.
And there's Decorey inside the penalty area again!
And striking a goal, but off the crossbar this time.
How close were Everton to a second there, and a second for Decorey too.
His runs into the penalty area are causing Brentford all sorts of problems,
and Decorey oh-so-close to another for Everton.
Finds Jenson. Jenson's ball is a poor one and easily read and cleared by Ashley Young.
And Birmo to Visser, seeing a bit of the ball,
and then Brentford have got a chance now with Jenson.
Great save, no! Pickford got a hand to it, but he could only take it onto the post.
And a bit of good fortune for Brentford, sees it off the post and in.
Grant Waits for McNeil.
Got the lay-off for Garnaghey, who can get Everton forward inside Brentford territory.
And a ball in behind for Beto! Brilliant!
Oh, just wide. Well, he did the right thing in trying to lift it over the keeper
as he advanced to close him down, but Beto also lifted it wide of goal.
Another big chance comes Everton's way, and Beto just can't take it here.
Got it over the keeper, but lifted it wide.
Knew what was happening in terms of the way Mark Fleckham was advancing to close him down.
Superbly blocked. The referee calls time.
At the end of the first half, a very eventful first period as well,
that saw Abdoulaye Doucoure put Everton in front.
In the sixth minute of the game, fine finish too,
and they had real chances to double that advantage.
Doucoure struck the crossbar just moments before Matthias Jensen levelled at 1-1.
Beto wins the free kick, despite the complaints.
Dwight McNeil will take.
Brentford positioned outside of the box, and the high ball goes in towards Tarkovsky,
who's won it!
And then Anana, the angle was very, very tight for him
as he tried to divert it back towards goal.
Not really on.
Tarkovsky winning the first header, and Anana couldn't do too much with it.
Well, Everton are making their move now.
And Dominic Calvert-Lewin is coming on for Beto.
With 63 minutes on the clock.
Young, that will be a corner.
Certainly the case.
So here comes the Everton corner.
Can they get their noses in front again?
McNeil's delivery, yes!
And it's James Tarkovsky!
At one of his old clubs.
Heading Everton in front.
Delight for the travelling hordes of Evertonians.
And a big, big smile for James Tarkovsky.
The man who got the first goal in the Sean Dyche Rain has got Everton in front here.
Midway through this second half.
Inside the six-yard box to meet Dwight McNeil's corner.
And a simple task for Tarkovsky.
Stealing possession again, James Garner for Everton.
He's slotted it through for Calvert-Lewin!
And that's the third!
And Dominic Calvert-Lewin bends to put Everton 3-1 up.
And surely send Everton on the way to three points for the first time this season.
Everton taking Brentford apart now.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin up and running for this season.
And so are Everton.
Winning possession back inside Brentford territory.
Calvert-Lewin released here.
And he was confident enough, and confident enough to do the rest.
Well played, James Garner winning the ball back and slotting a perfect pass.
