Snow Camping without a Tent, Ice Fishing Catch & Cook in 5-WAY Cast Iron Cookware by Firebox Stove.

In this video I chronicle a little snow camping adventure to go Ice Fishing at the last accessible back country lake (that I know of). I backpack in with my two dogs Junie and Maggie and my Pack Goat Bill. We spend the night without a tent. I like to sleep out. Back Story: When I was a kid, camping as a scout, one of the first things I realized was that most of our time was spent hiking or in the making and breaking of camp. I was excited to go fishing and hang out but didn't get much time to do so. If I'm confident it's not going to rain, I keep things simple with a ground cloth and a thick down insulated sleeping pad. tents are a pain and for what? So you can wake up wet from all the condensation then spend time drying everything before packing up? When it does rain, I shelter under a tarp which keeps me just as dry and I can see what's going on around me. I sleep with all my cloths (except my boots) and my head-lamp on. I even keep my bear spray on my belt so I'm ready for action in the night be that, stringing up a tarp for an unexpected storm or tending to an animals needs or my own. When I randomly wake up in the night I can take a moment to look at the stars. If I hear a noise I can turn on my flashlight and see what's going on. When you're in a tent you can't see anything unless you open a zipper or two. Lol, Sorry for the tangent...I caught my first ice-fishing fish, a beautiful brook trout which I cooked up using the Firebox Freestyle Stove in its eight panel fire-pit configuration in conjunction with the exciting new cast-iron cookware we're about to launch with a KICKSTARTER project! The "Firebox 5-WAY Cookers" this was the first time trying the new 5-WAY Cookers on the Freestyle Fire-Pit. Works great! In fact, the 1" 5-Way Pan fits down in the stove for quick convenient cooks-ups! I also used the Fire-sticks to keep everything on top which worked great as I was able to use both the 5-WAY and the BOX-POT side by side with ease.
