Day 8, Meditate. A Yoga With Adriene tradition. In this video we take time to reflect on the Prana practice series through a softening to stillness.
This soft practice asks, “What connections do you want to strengthen?” “Can you allow the experience and wisdom you experienced to stay with you?”
Perhaps in your experience with Prana you have learned to trust your inner wisdom and your body a bit more. As our journey comes to an official loving close, there is opportunity to find a fresh commitment to your practice and to show up for this necessary and valuable time with - you. Again, making sure that the ripple you are sending you into the world is a conscious one!
This session is a 10 minute bija or seed practice. A little quiet nugget to mindfully wrap up our experience here together, and one you can come back to again and again - whenever you need some solace and subtle body connection.
Let me know how you are feeling in the comments below. Thank you for sharing your practice with me.
Hello everyone and welcome back to Prana,
your seven day yoga journey except it's Day 8
because we had to have a little bonus meditation.
Think of it as the cherry on top.
This is a really sweet, calm, chill,
centering meditation that you can do to celebrate
the end of your journey but I feel like it's a wonderful
little seed practice that you can come back to
whenever you need just a little quiet moment to yourself.
So I hope you enjoy it.
It's Day 8, don't hate, meditate, feel great.
Hop into something extra comfy and let's get started.
Alright my friends, come into a comfortable seat.
Very grateful to have my trusty assistant here today.
I would say the meditations might be his favorite.
You can be in a chair, you can be seated up on a block
like me or some blankets.
You can also sit on your couch.
Any cozy spot where you can sit up nice and tall
with the spine erect.
And when you're ready, there we go,
we'll follow Benji's lead and just bring our awareness
to our breath.
Maybe you close down the eyelids here or soften your gaze.
And many of us are coming off the seven days of yoga,
tapping into our prana body but also just the experience
of showing up for yourself for seven days straight
or for seven days with a clear intention
if it wasn't consecutive.
So let's take a moment here as we just begin to notice
the breath.
You'll come into our bodies today
and reflect on our experience.
Just take a moment to reflect on your experience
of a seven day prana journey.
And I love that we have this bonus day because
throughout today's session we can really allow
our individual experiences and any wisdom that you gain,
that you garner during the journey,
you can really make a point, if you want to today,
to allow that wisdom, that inner wisdom to stay with you
beyond today.
Perhaps in your experience you learned to trust
that inner wisdom a little more,
maybe to trust your body.
And then you can let that go.
We'll draw the head over the heart,
the heart over the pelvis.
Inhale, sit up nice and tall, big conscious breath.
And exhale, relax the shoulders down the back.
Take a second to do any little adjustments,
make any little tweaks.
And then we'll come into this place of stillness.
Spine nice and tall.
Gaze turning inward or eyes closed.
And we'll return to the mantra, or rather the affirmation,
I am connected with all things.
In loving and kind ways.
And if the affirmation doesn't resonate,
that's fine, you can let it go.
Together finding stillness,
slowing down the breath.
As your body starts to surrender to the stillness,
see if you can connect to a natural rhythm of your breath.
And see if you can find a little rhythm,
a little repetition of that.
And if you need to, you can always do
four count in, four count out.
And now let that breath rhythm go.
Just let everything go.
If it's helpful to turn the palms face up here,
soft fingertips, give it a try.
Just letting everything go
and just taking a quiet moment here with yourself.
As our prana journey comes to its official series
and we always have the opportunity to have
a fresh start or a beginning in every ending.
So this series is really about making sure
that the ripple that you are sending out into the world
is a conscious one.
So we'll draw the palms together now,
Anjuli Mudra at the heart center.
And I just want to ask you a question before we go,
which is what connections
do you want to strengthen?
What connections do you want to strengthen?
From the crown of the head to the tip of the tail,
get nice and long and slowly draw the thumbs up
to the third eye.
Inhale in deeply and exhale completely.
And slide the hands down to the heart space.
Inhale deeply.
Exhale completely.
And then hands to the belly.
If you feel comfortable, you can always keep the hands
at the heart for this last one.
Inhale deeply.
And exhale completely.
As you're ready, super slow, slow, slow, release the hands.
Start to open your eyes and just look down in front of you
to start, just soft gaze down in front of you.
And then start to move your head and neck around
ever so slightly.
The eyes open, taking in your surroundings.
And then back to center.
Awesome work, my friends.
I love hearing from you in the comment section down below.
Please share this beautiful free series with your friends.
And I look forward to continuing our practice together.
Hope to see you soon.
Take good care.
Namaste.
